I grew up on an island so my family and teachers were certain to teach us to fully appreciate how majestic ocean life is. I have been on whale watches on tiny boats but never did I get the full picture you have captured here. The drone footage was exceptional and your reaction was priceless. I love that Occy gets to experience such a full life with you!

Occy on the surfboard seeing the whale family was pretty fabulous. Glad you are mentally better the loss of Lee devastated me and I never met her. Just went on the journey with you both through Latin America. Some really great sites and experiences traveling through all those countries with the three of you. Loved that your mom got to spend time in Peru with you, Lee and Occy. I keep rewatching videos to see Lee again as I miss her laugh and beautiful smile. So sorry it ended so tragically for you, your family, her family and friends and all of us who felt like she was our best friend also. That was so impressive. I would have been a bit terrified to be that close. I have to say that Occy was amazing and under control. So many other dogs would have been barking and pacing. Very special to have gotten so close to the whales. Had an adventure in Mossel Bay South Africa in 1996/7. Went for a dive. Ended up scuba diving under a calfing Souther Right Whale and her midwife. What a privilege. Almost had the rubber duck confiscated and near arrests. In South Africa you are not allowed within 300m of whales. Awesome experience, very scary.

I went whale watching 2 years ago and came face to face with a baby humpback whale for several minutes... we just stared at each other, so curious about one another; one of the most special moments of my life. I definitely cried! So glad you got to share a moment with these amazing creatures ❤

I have just finished watching ALL your videos. What an incredible story and your honesty in sharing the highs AND the lows is SO refreshing and real, thank you. I have been on my own in a travel trailer for 7 years with a Golden Retriever in the States so understand the connection between you and Occy (my boy is 12 and still going strong as well!) I traveled Australia in 2003 for several months and love seeing the parts where I was and the parts where I wished I could have gone. It is a beautiful country with wonderful people. Amazing video ❤ A month ago, I was gifted an old camper van. I stumbled on your videos while researching bed/couch options for a van. I then began watching from your beginning video. Much love, friend. Thank you for sharing your life. Once I build my new couch/bed, my soulmate dog, Dewey, and I will head out for some small adventures.
Magnificent footage! Watching this video on a sensitive day I had a few tears myself…I also had the chance to live an unforgettable experience, on a small non-touristic boat surrounded by hundreds of dolphins jumping everywhere, and never knew I would have this reaction seing this wonderful show: it was so much excitement that we became kids again, not knowing where to look…tears of joy too 😂. These sea creatures are majestic and this is where I realized how much this world is beautiful but also how much we have to protect it!

Tears started when the whales breached. Amazing. I am located in eastern Canada and my son moved to eastern Australia in April of this year. I was just video chatting with him this morning and his plan is to head to western Australia in the new year. He bought a 'ute' and is getting a top tent for it. Since my kids were young I have always told them to get out there and experience life.
