I love Occy and your videos are so sincere that they are so addicitve and you visit beautful locations. Also please can feed Occy some raw meat - as its much better for his health - not sure of your opionion as I've only seen some of your videos.

By feeding uncooked meat, there's a higher risk your dog could develop a foodborne illness or other type of bacterial infection.

You are for sure absolutely right, however it is worrying that so many vanlifers and other youtubers are not OK.
I say to all that does not feel OK, stop social media alltogether, stop competing with others for likes. Continuing will not make anyone better. Step in and take care of real life instead of social media life.

Believe me, I am not for social media myself, but to go around bantering “stop altogether” will not work and is just as bad as Jehova Witnesses/Mormons bringing their children along on their door knocking missions. The rule is: No thing in excess - Social media can help make positive changes & keep families/friends connected too.

Interesting thing that you compare social media to Jehovas and other "religious" movements. Sort of shows the problem.
With that said, If you really need to have to compare and compete with other people in your life (via social media). By all means do so. But do not complain if you lose the competition.
Keeping families/friends connected can very well be done without seeking the global attention and financial gain that channels like this do.

I'm a veteran who has PTSD and depression. I've had been doing well for many years, and it seems like over the last couple of years, along with the pressures that COVID has brought into my life, I found I've just been white knuckling things for awhile. Like you turn around and so much of your life is just not flowing anymore, and your ability to manage stress and relationships seems to be barely managing. I think watching this channel, and others, where you keep hearing people say "It's okay to not be okay", make it asking for help seem less overwhelming . Even though my local Veteran's Medical Center doesn't have availability open, they've set me up with a program like the one Max is talking about. I did get to choose the therapist I wanted. Within just a couple of days I had contact and a date to start up. Next week is my first session online. As nervous as I am to start therapy again after so long, I know this will be helpful and I'm pretty sure without the hassle of having to take time off and drive to appointments, it will be so much less impactful to other responsibilities I have.

Stay strong mate, no shame in getting help and great you recognised you needed the support and are getting it (before it gets any worse!) You've taken the biggest step as you know, which is great and you'll feel a whole lot better being able to talk things over maybe get or adjust any meds you're on and get back on track.. go easy on yourself mate! I know how you feel I too suffer and it's tough when people don't understand, but we ALL have to be open and unashamed to end the stigma around mental health, so that others don't have to suffer in silence (as I did for many years until I was on the edge and waited far too long!) as if it's nipped in the bud, it can be treated so much more easily than once it's taken hold!
Stay strong but equally go easy on yourself if that makes sense. 💪👍🙏🏴

It's hard losing a loved pet. I recently lost my 18 yr old cat...who thought he was a dog. He would even play fetch. My heart goes out to you. Just give as many cuddles as possible in the time you have left with each other.
Might try kidney tonic, helps eating, old age. Rhemmania 8 on Amazon very good. Best wishes, suggest getting food syringe online too for water hydration. Had three dogs pass at home with nursing moment by moment care, you can do it and saves room for their end stage work at that time. Gives home a sweet connection for their spirit to feel welcome in memory, kind to small efforts in world when sick but that time big to angel life.Kinda like letting sea turtle hatchlings go to ocean from nest on beach by themselves. Natural process (with some comforts like warmth, water, homemade puree liquid food if can, body presence). 🐶🐕💐🌹

So glad you're not over doing it with the parametics, as a Registered Nurse myself I know how good it feels to help others but at the same time can it can also sap the soul.
Tom reminded me of a good neighbour who after I mentioned that I needed to attend to my garden needed hedging said ..."oooh yes the hedge police will be along to fine you anytime soon!" this comment broke through and taught me to take a breath and as time has gone on my perfectionism has diminshed somewhat.
Have realised we can get too precious about the small stuff and there are just more things in life to appreciate....
I have just about finished my van build & transferred my casual position from Bunbury Hospital to Port Hedland WA.
I am now beginning my 🚐 travel & working 🇦🇺.
On my way North I am currently visiting my folks in Beverley WA with temperature 6°C overnight and day temp of 21°C...looking forward to my adventures and the warmer temperatures of up north between 18-32°C.

Oh the memories! That alarm after 2 hours sleep, the alarm after power napping on the mattress in the back of my car for 20 minutes during a 4am break..... and then trying to look wide awake and ready for those emergencies when you feel/look more like something the dog chewed. You guys always looked so awake and on the ball when you wheeled those patients in. Good on you Max. Its one of the hardest jobs around.

I dream of working in a field that allows me to have this lifestyle. I know as a single woman this road is very difficult and can be unsafe. But despite knowing this, the only thing my heart calls for is being able to see the world, meet interesting people, write, read more books, and spend time with my animal friends.
Perhaps I'll receive a pm from you about what it takes to even get started and how much I should have realistically saved and if it's better to pay all cash for a van or to put it on credit.
I have struggled with so much anxiety and depression over having to "make it" as a single woman in this world and not feel like I am a slave to jobs I don't even feel provide true value for me.
Anyways, to anyone reading this. I hope you remember that life isn't about material, but about our mental, physical health, being able to live on our time, and remaining kind in a world that can feel so far removed.

Hi mate, good to see you getting along with your life, Occy is looking good and I know he is a great source of help as I have 3 of my own and they helped me no-end with my recent break-up, my own Sprinter has become uneconomical to repair but I've kept it on my land and use it for storage - starting it occasionally. Times are tough for a lot of people in one way or another, just know there are people around the world who care about how you're doing, enjoy those lovely beaches.

So happy to hear you're doing well and getting back into a profession that I'm sure feels especially rewarding and meaningful at these times! (During my very toughest of days, keeping busy and working hard was always the key to helping me through.) We always look forward to your great video updates but taking care of yourself is far important. You needn't ever worry that people are having certain expectations of your van updates or video releases. That's just details. And most of all, thanks so much for being so kind and encouraging towards others, and letting them know that it's healthy and necessary to put oneself first in times of need, and to reach out for therapy. As the people in my family agreed years ago, everyone needs some therapy at one time or another. It's just a normal part of life. Your brother is a cool guy too, guess it runs in the family. :) Best wishes and stay safe!

Your brother is so funny and it's clear he adores you in his Aussie-male way. lol When I was down in AU (from Los Angeles), I noticed that Aussie males like to give each their mates a really hard time, as sort of a way to show they really like them. In this case, I'm sure your brother loves you dearly, as does your little nephew who runs into your arms, but he shows you in such an Aussie-male manner. lol
