When this movie came out, my father had just passed away, and my best friend took me to the movies to cheer me up. This was the only thing playing. It ended up being the perfect movie because I laughed until I cried. Thanks Bob, you’re still my best friend.

Simulates real life. Black folks have survival skills . They see a bunch of folks running.. they'll turn and run. Don't have to wait to see chainsaw guy coming down the road. They're smart enough to get ahead of that shit..

The scene where Cindy throws grandma down the stairs. I swear it's one of the most hilarious scenes I've seen. Laughed so hard the first time I saw it almost hurt 🤣
Saw it in theaters and the grandma bit was so out of pocket the whole room was DEAD

they will at some point, they already talked about how that is one of TBR's favorite movies, but they have a few movies they'd need to watch BEFORE that first, to get the parodies being done, just like they did now before they watched Scary Movie.
One of my favorites
The primary film spoofed in Scary Movie 2 is The Haunting. It also spoofs The Exorcist, Amityville Horror, What Lies Beneath, Charlie's Angels, Hollow Man, Titanic & Mission Impossible 2.
And the infamous Nike freestyle commercial
The highest compliment I can give this movie is that I sometimes forget which scenes were in this movie, and which scenes were in the originals it parodies. 😂

The “where’s the foot?!” moment and Greg beating the shit out of Cindy and Bobby just being like “come on man you’re hurting her” are so funny to me especially because Barry was so aggressive toward Julie and Ray just watched, they always come to mind when I think about this movie, it will pop in my head randomly 🤣 there’s so many funny moments though.
The scene at 15:00 is from a classic Budweiser ad.
Doofy's vacuumcleaner: Somebody brought in a shop vac at my factory one day and it was exactly like Doofy's vacuum! Me and the other girl who saw Scary Movie were cracking up while everybody else was just lost and wondering what was so funny! 🤣🤣

Also, the "WAZZZZUUUUUPPPPPP!" was a Budweiser commercial back in the day and this parodied it. This was such a classic!
Those Budweiser commercials were back in the 90s. They were hugely popular and so damn funny. It bummed me out when they stopped making those commercials.

This movie came out in 2000 so it spoofs all movies not just slasher movies that people would have just seen recently at the theaters.
Saw this in theaters as a kid, my aunt took me. We had no idea what we were in for, we both could not breathe from the laughter we were having. When this came out to me there was nothing out there like this. The Wayans Bros. Were my favorite actors/comedians in movies growing up. I enjoyed ur reaction. Thanks guys! don't think so, in my country we never got those commercials as budweiser wasn't being sold here, in fact i never even knew that originated from a budweiser commercial until i was much older, i always thought it came from Scary Movie before i knew that.

Fun fact: Scream was supposed to be titled: Scary Movie so it comes to full circle for this movie to spoof Scream in the opening scene
The first two are actually hilarious. They got unbearably stupid towards the end, but the first two actually had some clever jokes and good deadpan moments.
Scary Movie 3 was good as well, but a different style (done by David Zucker, same guy who did Airplane and the Naked Gun)
3 and 4 I’d say are still worth watching. Definitely end it after that. Leslie Nielsen and Charlie sheen are great but I think they still should watch signs and a couple others first I think.

The movies got dumb and unfunny after the Weinsteins forced Shawn and Marlon out of their own franchise.
These movies are my guilty pleasures. Some scenes are so stupid but they just make me laugh.

"Hollow Man" is essential viewing for "scary movie 2" and is fortunately a really good film. Scary movie 2 is my favourite of the franchise, so looking forward to it
I never realized until TBR pointed it out, that Cindy's da was played by Rick Ducommun who also played "Art" in "The Burbs" funny I never caught that given I'm a big fan of both films.

These are genius and you can watch them multiple times. I quote this movie so much, I love it. 1 and 2 are masterpieces. I can't watch Signs after the 3rd Scary Movie. I lot of pop culture reference may be lost to time. WASSSUP is from the Budweiser advert. In Scary Movie 2 they do the basketball Nike advert. They don't make parody movies like this anymore

Saw this movie opening weekend at 15. Still remember there was a little kid in the row behind us seeing all the craziness on screen.
This movie actually has a really good twist
Such a great movie. Bein a horror fan, it’s probably my favorite comedy of all time. I really love the way actor portrayed the killer. His mannerisms and movements totally sold the character. And yes, he actually was played by Dave Sheridan, aka Doofy.
The franchise was developed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Marlon Wayans, who wrote and directed the first two entries. So thank the Wayans Family

the "Drew" character played by Carmen Electra at the intro is named Drew because she is spoofing the character Drew Barrymore played in the beginning of hte first Scream Movie.
Another spoof that we caught back in the day that younger viewers might miss was when they were all on the phone saying "WAZZUP". That's from a Budweiser/Bud Light commercial that was real popular back then
Nice eye for detail, it is the same house, both Scream & Scary Movie were made by Bob & (unfortunately) Harvey Weinstein’s company Dimension Films, and distributed by their other film studio Miramax, so everything Scream had access to, Scary Movie did as well, Scream was original gonna be called Scary Movie as a matter of fact, but the Weinsteins changed it to Scream towards the end of production.
Also before Harvey Weinstein’s allegations, at the height of their power, Miramax & Dimension were THE horror film companies, having owned Scream, Halloween, Hellraiser, a few others, and of course Scary Movie.
So many laughs, a modern day Airplane!

Awww this is going to be awesome watching you guys watch this. I LOVE this movie, it's sooo funny. And the high school where it was filmed was at my high school here in Victoria British Columbia. I was happily stunned when I first saw it in this film ( though it's been in other films as well ).

I'll never forget the first time I watched this in the movie theatre there was this teenage boy with his mom or grandma that was sitting acouple rows in front of me and for the entire movie they were the only ones not laughing. It was almost like the kid was scared to laugh at all the inappropriate jokes😂. Literally everyone in the theatre was laughing except for them. I honestly dont think the mother or grandmother knew what they were walking into😂
