Elrond by all definition is an Elven Lord and Prince. Descended from all three Houses of the Elves. He is the great grandson of Turgon High King of the Noldor, by his father, Earendil Half-Elven through his mother Idril Celebrindal, only daughter of Turgon and the great-great grandson of Elu Thingol King of the Doriath, by his mother Elwing, the only surviving child of King Dior, son of the legendary lovers Beren and Luthien as Luthien was the only daughter of king Elu Thingol and his Maia wife Melian. "Elf Lords only" - my backside!
Ohhh Robert played this scene sooo beautifully he is younger elrond, and if you noticed he and galadriel are matching in color❤❤❤ love this cant wait for season 2
Elf lords ONLY!?!?!?!? excuse me??? And that is absolutely NOT how you talk to your mother-in-law / son-in-law. Even if assuming he has not yet met Celebrian (i don’t know what they say abt this in the show), she is of the same generation as his great-grandfather, and I really just cannot picture them interacting in this manner, even if elves are immortal and don’t seem to care abt generation gaps (Celebrian cough cough,Arwen cough cough)
If they swapped Elrond and Galadriel's scripts it might not be that bad (might). It always seemed like Galadriel was focused on leadership during the war rather than direct battles, while Elrond was the Herald of Gil-Galad who marches with the armies. It's like the writers saw "she was proud in her youth" and went "oh so she's 6,000 and doing blade dances on horses ok". Galadriel's so popular to readers and watchers because of her powerful, wise mystique and she just doesn't have that at ALL here, and this is the only version of Galadriel that doesn't seem to get that across.
I appreciate that many folks don't like the show, for many reasons. Initially, I found it odd how much the show deviated from the books. I've since reconciled that for myself, though, by treating the show as an adaptation of the movies, rather than as an adaption of the books. The aesthetics are mostly continuous, the characters are mostly too (though there isn't much overlap). It works for me.
@@Sardonac I wonder how they’d pull that since he would have to be the one slaying everything from then on. Also, they should have had a daughter by now.
@@revertrevertz5438 They're definitely bending time a bit. That's why I think it's wise to treat the movie as the primary text for the show, not the books.

@Riorozen I love this franchise they've created 👏 I'm a Lord of the Rings fan, too, but this becoming the best franchise series I've watched, plus we get to discover whole new realms in Middle Earth...
@Riorozen yes, in a way, but no, his parents were Earendill the Mariner his mother was Elwing both half elven. During the first kinslaying by the sons of Feanor, both his parents feared that Elrond and Elros would be killed, but Maedhros and Maglor took pity on him and his brother and raised them from Birth.. yes, he is elven, but he was raised by humans during his childhood... it's no wonder Gil Galad called his last name Peredhel....
Like spring rains over the bones of a……… DeAd AniMaL. What a bad simile. Sounds less like Tolkien and more like a 7 year old trying to imitate Shakespeare. 🤣
That's the point. Elrond is the wordsmith, correcting the speech hastily drafted by Gil-Galad, who is clearly too busy to take care over it. It's a writer's joke.
Not just the way he looks, but the way he carries himself. You could argue that he was raised by Maedhros and Maglor in wartime wilderness, but I would expect some gracefulness nonetheless. And perhaps even more so, considering that they are probably the oldest two grandsons of Finwe and (was) the third and fourth in line to the throne, and that at LEAST Maglor would have loved him and his brother to give them somewhat a proper “education” befitting of his lineage. Lineage aside, I just cannot see these two characters as ANY elf. They act like 20 year old Edains
And Galadriel was described as: "These two kinsfolk (Fëanor and Galadriel), the greatest of the Eldar in Valinor, were unfriends for ever." "Who together with the greatest of all the Eldar, Luthien Tinuviel, daughter of Elu Thingol, are the chief matter of the legends and histories of the Elves." "Galadriel was the greatest of the Noldor, except Fëanor maybe, though she was wiser than he, and her wisdom increased with the long years." (Second age, I believe, would have been quite some years after her birth during YT) My sincerest gratitude for at least not trying to portray Feanor, he would prob end up as a tantrum-throwing teen…

Yassss ❤
just shows you, that the creators or writers don't know shit
Elrond in the Second Age was Second in command to High King Gil Galad. So by all definitions he is and most certainly an “elf Lord.”
Just a guy and his mother in law.
At least she's fond of her future son in law
Elrond has a beautiful use of language.

Nah Elrond existed to tell Galadriel how poofect and stonk she is.
It may have, but keep in mind that we need to “subvert expectations”

Elrond uses a lot of hair spray. His head must weigh an additional 10 pounds because of it.
Credit where it's due, if you close your eyes, the actor kinda does sound like a young Hugo Weaving 🤔
No he doesn't
Elrond lead Isildor to the heart of Mount Doom. Y'all portray him like some weak biscuit.
SO MUCH POTENTIAL
Elrond will become one of if not the best characters on the show.

So young Ned Stark is playing young Elrond whereas Old Ned Stark played Boromir 😂

"Elf lords only" sounds like something you'd hear in a Snyder movie.
