This mods adds Modern Sonic over Sonic, including a fresh new sprite set and a custom moveset, based on Modern Sonic 2.0 by Hortinus and MotorRoach.
This mod is extracted from the extensive mod ‘Sonic Remixed’ to be released in chapters as progress goes by.

A mod like this deserved a change up in music, so throughout the playthrough I added on a "Modern Era" Zone Music mod (ported by PeachyKD), which is basically high quality versions of game soundtracks from Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, Sonic Generations, Sonic Lost World, Sonic Runners, and Sonic Forces.
Just a heads up, I think while looking at the character mod, you can see that a few sprites may be glitched, including one while playing in super form.

Awesome mod and gameplay that was uploaded this Saturday. While no mod is perfect, this one is a lot better than the ones you covered last year and I like how a developer decided to make an improved version of it. Doing the special zone model was the heaviest touch, I'd say making Sonic as versatile as ever was something I liked besides working on the special zone. Thank you for today's upload Jay, I'll see ya tomorrow 👍🏿
Forgot to mention that I also enjoyed the fact that he can naturally form after-images without the speedy shoes ability

Well I'll be damned, the mod even gives the game the most memorable thing about Modern Sonic: The broken and nonsensical speed management. .
Modern sonic? You could always do that in sonic 2 by rolling through this section.

Growing up on the Genesis games, the sprite/animations are really well done. However, homing attack trivializes a lot of the enemy placement/level design, there's really no need for it to navigate 2D space. I don't see the point of the slide with the spin dash either but that's another option so no big. I do think the stomp is a cool addition. Hats off to the person or design team - great work!
