I know the feeling, man. I remember listening to songs like Oxford Comma and A-punk when I was just an 11 year old in 2008. This band has definitely grown and evolved with me
This guy is a genuine poet, their lyrics are such a rich blend of keen insights, always the tension between the good and bad in a world that is continually baffling.
I've always been more of a casual VW listener until recently, so apologies to the real fans if this is basic VW lore! The crunchy Italian opera-style Rs (and potentially Ezra's diction while singing in general) have been keeping me awake lately! Has he ever talked about it? I would greatly appreciate if anyone pointed me to a source if he has. Cheers!
Took my kids to see them Friday night in SLC at Kilby Block Party festival and caught ‘the first evening performance of this song’. Beautiful, classic tune here. They are great live. Closest thing to seeing the Talking Heads live in 1984 that you can see now. New album is a wonderful work of art. Give it a listen if you haven’t yet.
I tried dedicating this song to someone quite publicly on X, in order to try and cheer him up especially after his kingdom came crashing down. I’m not sure if he got that, 🤔😁
I'm a Capricorn and the song is lovely but what's with "capicone, the year that you were bone" ? The guy's from NY/NJ. Same as me. No one says words like that. Sounds like a speech impediment, which hurts my ear a bit every time he does it. lol.
Ezra Koenig is perhaps the finest melodist of his generation
Ezra's voice is so unique and sounds exactly like the record.
couldn't agree with you more
They replicated the reverb on the record beautifully
Don’t know if you already know Amber Coffman the backing singer. Bc she’s another such unique voice that way too underrated.
She’s incredible
Great voice a liitle bit like a young Donavan luv this song so ethereal....
That violin is beautiful. Really makes this song.
Self titled vibes were strong in this one ❣️
The three violin parts almost sounded like different instruments. Beautiful.
The violinist brought me back to life 🤍 i cant believe my fav band is in their 40’s now 🥹

There's nothing to do but BE
Listen to the song Be Still by The Killers.
So damn true. Its beautiful. The whole song is ❤😊
@DammitCrispin another awesome song regularly played in my house ❤😊
@@andreacurtis5993 Same I play the song too much haha love the Killers and Vampire Weekend. They're great jogging music too
Man, that is some serious soundstage engineering, sound is so crisp and compressed. I love this stripped down version of Capricorn.
Sounds so clean and tight. Fantastic. 😊
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard
This guy is a genuine poet, their lyrics are such a rich blend of keen insights, always the tension between the good and bad in a world that is continually baffling.
He is the current poet of rock/pop music, much like Simon and Garfunkel were of the 1960s.
I feel that's because Ezra is a smart dude and does often pull from the bible as far as concepts go. Especially the last 2 albums.
@@DammitCrispin
Interesting, I thought of it that way.
Violinist snapped on that solo 😮
This is THE song I want to be played at my funeral
Totally agree. This and no other 😊
How old are you. Just for some idea when
I am so glad Amber is back, she was like the real star of the Dirty Projectors
Beautiful song and a beautiful live performance. Vampire Weekend never disappoints
This album has me listening to Vamp again like I used to
This album gets better and better the more you listen to it, incredible.
right?? incredible album!!! i wish more people would be talking about it
Well…that was dope. And for those who haven’t heard the whole album, it’s a banger. Could be my fav.
Very possibly the best vw album
It’s soaring in my rankings with every listen
Id like to think that it was performing Moon Song with Karen O on the Oscars that made Ezra realize his voice harmonize well with a female voice! 😅
So good to see Amber again ❤
Crisis crew checking in
I’m liking this for my guys

pretty good session, but I do think ezra lifting baio via forklift would add to the energy of the live performance

That violin solo was sick
Sounds like when rostam was in band with the classical
thats exactly what i thought. feels like Brynn from the first album
my boy always had them crunchy R’s

wow i had the goosebumps, i think i've dissociated listening to this version. absolutely love it
Woah I was not expecting to see Amber Coffman joining Vampire!
likely as a session or touring member.
It's a really nice tune.
Wow this is delicious...great version.
please, this should be on Spotify!
Absolutely magical. 😊
What a song. What an album.
Oh my God! I'm loving this version!!!!
Can't get better than this

This is so beautiful ❤
How does she reach that high note?? Unbelievable
The drums make all the difference
This is amazing and so comforting! ❤
Beautiful track, and amazing record.
That violin solo sent my heart flying
I’m a little less embarrassed by my Capricorn tattoo I got at 18. Thanks vamps.
great look for baio here
Rock’s not played out dawg

Wow so beautiful!!
Baio looking so fresh.
To old for dying young, to young to live alone
Such a great line, right?
Nice version live. Love the call back to Diane Young.
John Lennon vibes
OK. That was awesome
I wonder if this is what the tour lineup will look like. Definitely gonna miss the FotB band
This new album is so great

damn great of you to catch that!

Who’s the violinist? That guy plays the steel guitar on “Classical”😂❤
Ray Suen, such a great add for this tour!
Wow!

Was the violinist previously in Mariachi El Bronx?
Is he singing in an Italian accent? It's fantastic!
😭😭 i lost a capricorn recently and i just cant even...

Wait what, is this Amber Coffman?!?
I like how he's looking weird.

That part is intentional😂

Great band, but I wish he would give up his faux english accent.
but its so fancy
peter gabriel too
Still a solid band but they need to get Rostam back badly.
@@classicbambi I did... to Rostam's killer solo work but I still like to listen to VW too.
With all due respect to him, they’re way more interesting than when they were with Rostam :)
