      It is indeed mature and open minded, such is empathy. empathy is important, it reminds us that we are never alone and there will and have always been others out there who have suffered and lived experiences in life similar to us, who understand us. it teaches us to forgive and respect that we aren't the only ones stricken by misfortune, as Tyr said.. Anyone can fall to darkness through misfortune, and it takes wisdom and vigilance to repel this darkness and become better versions of ourselves. i found my own light in life when i was ready to succumb to my sickness and leave this world. now, i have confidence, an identity, purpose, and the capacity for love and healing and i help others mend their own deep emotional wounds and seek their own path in life. we are but one individual existing adjacent to a billion others around us and we all want to find happiness and fulfillment.

    Rewatching God of War 4, I noticed the only reason Kratos killed Magni was because Atreus was acting recklessly and charged towards Modi. Kratos attempted to stopped his son, but was halted by Magni which of course made Kratos react quickly (and violently) so he could go back to protecting his son.
    Though, I doubt Atreus acting responsibly would’ve changed the outcome of that fight. Like Heimdall, Magni & Modi seemed pretty hellbent on killing them.

    • @LeonColvet
      @LeonColvet Před 6 měsíci +13

      Yes, the outcome would have not changed. As Kratos said, he was defending themselves. Neither Magnir nor Modi would have quit the battle without Kratos as an offering for Odin. Just like he tried to kill Baldur on their first encounter, Kratos would not have finished the fight with their defeat either.

    The point that Kratos is missing, and I think Valhalla is trying to get him to see, is that Magni and Modi aren't just what Atreus could have become. They're the exact same as Kratos himself - failed by their father (Thor and Zeus), sent to die by their uncle Baldur, or in Kratos' case his sister Athena, and belittled by their grandfather (Odin, Cronos), on top of being as rude, belligerent, savage and bloodthirsty as Kratos himself ever was.
    Kratos bemoaning the fact that they had no chance from the very beginning and yet critically missing the fact that his situation mirrors theirs shows just how deep the hooks of his guilt have cut into him. If Magni and Modi were screwed from the outset, he was too.

  • @chadnorris8257

      People who often express how they feel nothing for bad people, mostly lacks perspective and the will to understand how they even became bad people in the first place to even feel anything such as pity. Thus, unable to feel for them at all. Just because their reasons doesn't excuse their actions, doesn't mean I won't understand their situation enough not to feel bad for the both of them because I can indeed understand how bad and cruel it is to be raised harshly, abused by your parents, and hence, becoming the biggest pieces of work or brats in all existence afterwards due to bad influence, who also lived just to take orders and fight, then die, and get mocked at after their deaths by people who express how they feel nothing for them. What chance did they have? Their life didn't give them an opportunity to ever become better people, and died too early to ever experience that opportunity. After hearing Magni and Modi's backstory, a perfect example of Brats with Untold Horrible Backgrounds, I can only say that people who say they feel nothing for them are mostly those who are ignorant of other's backgrounds and have a disregard of other people's emotions while freely expressing theirs about what they feel and think about them as they judge them for their flaws and still think they're the good guys for mocking at them for being the worst when they faced defeat or even after death which doesn't make it any better. Sometimes I feel like the Innocent or most ordinary people, will get the opportunity to be the biggest pieces of work in all of existence to insult and to mock other people good or bad when they think they can get away with it just because they've done nothing wrong themselves or anything bad enough to ever be called as bad people, and will judge and criticize someone who actually is one, and not themselves.

    There was an error in story regarding Modi and Magni. I don't understand how their deaths was impactful on Thor's life, I know they are his sons but he was abusing them constantly - it must be about caring for someone or something valuable after you lose it and realize it's importance, but that prospective was hardly implied in the story. if Thrud was the one to die, it would have been more logical to be impactful, since Thor loved her and she loves him.
    Even this conflict between Thor and Kratos, which Thor always reminded him of, was never brought in the final battle between them.

      @@dredollaz1585In reality he did abuse his son's, Mimir explains that they were raised the same way how Odin raised Thor, physically and verbally, with the results: mindless, cruel, barbaric and stupid, Sif wasn't different from them either until their deaths. Kratos saw part of himself in them, obviously he will feel guilty, even for dumbasses like them.
