The boys voices are both elegant & dynamic at the same time and the soloists selected perfectly, just fantastic. We had a 212 voice Senior (SATB) Choir, Junior (SATB) Choir, Men's (TTBB) Choir, Ladies' (SSAA) Choir, Senior Orchestra, Junior Orchestra, Jazz Band, Chamber Orchestra, and for special performances, the Massed Choirs and Orchestras. 750 students on stage in the school auditorium. For Handel's Hallelujah Chorus, alumni in the audience were invited on stage. There could be a thousand musicians. It was quite something.

It takes a lot of discipline and self-discipline for a group like this to be able to perform so proudly and so happily. You have to practice, practice, practice. You have to follow a diet on the day of the performance, above all you have to want to do it! As a mother of two who sang from elementary school through high school, attending many rehearsals and performances 3-4 nights/days a week, drivIng car pools, chaperoning performance road trips, being there for kids whose parents could not be there...to see a performance like this and know what all goes into it is so rewarding and brings much cheer and good memories and pride to my heart.

What a wonderful group of talented boys from the valleys of south Wales, performing in the Queen's Coronation Festival Gala at Buckingham Palace in the presence of The Queen. A joy to listen to the boys singing their hearts out, this experience will live on for years to come, with the boys. The BBC should have set up an overhead camera to capture more close up footage of the boys along with their music director Tim Rhys-Evans MBE. Cheers from Canada to Only Boys Aloud!!

Aside from Ms Jenkins and the leaders of the two groups, it strikes me that with the National Youth Orchestra and Only Boys Aloud, the finale of this huge show in the gardens of Buckingham Palace before the Royal Family was left in the hands of a bunch of teenagers.....and it was absolutely brilliant!!!

I am not Welsh. I don't have any Welsh blood. I have no connection to Wales. And yet, when I hear this group tears come to my eyes.
