I've seen fan-films on CZcams that are better than whatever this multi-million studio put out and slapped the name "Halo" on. Give those talented indie filmmakers the same budget and we'd have one of the greatest video game adaptations of all time.
YUP.
I blame 343 Frank O’Connor, Kiki Wolfkill and the upper management.
The entire purpose of that company was to uphold the Halo franchise when the torch passed from Bungie to 343.
Instead 343 wanted to differentiate themselves entirely from the existing franchise and change fundamental core pillars to the universe.
First it was Franky retconning the Humans being forerunners to another species.
Second it was Kiki thinking that Master Chief is an emotional hero that only had resilience and was pre destined/ planned by a higher being (the librarian/forerunners). Which she told the writers of Halo 4, Halo 5 and the TV show to do.
Then it was the art style, the gameplay, the themes, story, covenant, character personalities, etc. The list grew and grew.
Now we have a fan base divided with 343 fans and the original Halo fans.
It’s such a mess. Halo is unfortunately not recognisable to the original Bungie vision that the majority fell in love with in the 2000’s. Those fans have now dwindled to the minority and have left the franchise for good.
For anyone to now acknowledge the retcons on Reddit, Discord, will be downvoted and gaslit to hell by the new 343 fan base that are in denial of the Bungie universe. Regardless if it is a fact or not.
The majority of people who watch/play Halo today only know the 343 universe. The good old days are gone. It’s not the same HALO.
I grew up halfway between both eras of halo, and I can safely say that both periods have their positives. I like the 343 expanded universe, I like the mythology surrounding it even if it differed from what was planned initially. I wouldn't have missed if this show just paid attention to the details. Man you got me heated now 😂 You gave it more of a chance than me, lmao. After everything that happened with the Witcher, I completely wrote off any video game adaptation. The only reason I have any hope for the Warhammer series is because of Cavill. With all these video game adaptations tye only explanation is willful ignorance.

Akersons character was stupid. His plan was to replace the Spartan 2s (by killing them) with untrained idiots, in EVA capable suits. He did this because Dr. Halsey is a meanie head and put his sister through spartan training, which according to this show is getting beat up by adults... any way he punishes her by making clones of said sister and making her talk and die in front Dr. Halsey. Riveting... then after he "trains" his spartan 3s for their suicide mission to destroy an entire star system. He gets mad at Admiral Parangonski because she used the Spartan 3s for the purpose they were created.
Oh yeah he sacrificed the people of Reach to as well. Can anyone that lives near a military base imagine not knowing that they left?

@@unclesamlore in the novels he thought the Spartan 2 program cost too much, and yielded too few soldiers. He took Halseys research and found a way I make the augmentations easier for anyone to undergo. He used orphans because most wouldn't notice their absence.
He didn't have the Spartan 2s killed out of spite because there is a war we were losing.
He deployed them to critical targets to show the covenants advance. He didn't sacrifice a planet.
His motivations were to find the most expedient/ cheapest way to hinder the covenant. Not to get revenge on one person by killing millions and purposely surrendering humanity's greatest military power next to earth.
They don't even know what thier talking about. The explosion wouldn't destroy a solar system according to what Ackerson says 'it will destroy everything in 1 million miles'. That is very very far from a solar system. But then the hologram shows it destroying the whole system.
So which is it? A million miles, or 100's of billions of miles? If it is the solar system that's silly. Even if it traveled at the speed of light it would still take a couple months to reach the opposite edge.
Halo was my child hood it brought me so many good memories so my joy playing halo 3 multiplayer with the boys staying up late on those school nights but all that is left is dust and echos game will never be as good now days I miss the days were we had no console wars were we just played games for fun to build friendships we said we were finishing this fight but the fight had just started

The whole 'blessed one' Makee thing jjst bothers me. I have always had an issue with the covenant knowing only humans can interact with forerunner objects. Most people seem to ignore this. I'm happy you brought it up. Now I dont feel so crazy lol

In official lore, Chief isn't a "chosen one". What the Librarian is talking about is that she set plans in motion that would result in the creation of the Spartan program, Mjolnir, and Smart AI. Chief and Cortana are just the Spartan and Smart AI that made it to the Librarian.
Yes that is true, but it efficiently and effectively makes him a chosen one of sorts. It's, weird. Thanks for watching!

They understand Halo just fine.
What they are trying to do is crowbar Halo into being the property they actually wanted to adapt which is mass effect.
If that is true, then so many of the decisions for this series make so much more sense. This show if it was mass effect would have been awesome. Thanks for watching!

the only thing i liked about s2 was the Spartan 3's with the spi armor. Everything around the fall of Reach was so annoying. Idk the Flood outbreak was fine, they already ruined everything i didnt care by the end lmao
I just watched halo cutscenes from other channels and I think I have a basic understanding of the Video Game Franchise despite not playing it. And personally, I think the main plot of this whole franchise revolves mainly between Master Chief and Cortana. Now I'm actually frustrated because of the fact that Paramount did Halo's name dirty and just tossed pure disrespect on Halo with all of these Non-Canons, Irrelevant side plots and Characters who aren't supposed to even exist-like Makee! I mean how did she even survive????

The issue with these adaptations is that the studios hire people WHO DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK THEY'RE DOING!
They know nothing about the stories.
They know nothing of the lore.
They know nothing of the fans.
And then, their ONLY response is that the fans are the ones who are clueless.
GIVE US THE STORY OR LEAVE IT ALONE.
Stop ruining good stories because they want to make an action video game into a fucking soap opera.

It’s like they get the overarching idea but then say nah imma do something else. For example the entirety of the SIIIs in this abomination have the overarching concept of them. They even say and do obscure things that are really only in the books. Such as their war cry being “Spartans never die.” Or them actually being from Onyx. But then the rest is just BAD. There are so many problems with this thing. Like why does the flood show up now? I get they are not full on combat forms yet this is the start of an outbreak but why now? There was no context behind it at all it just shows up? All of the Spartans have 0 tactics and act like children. The SIIIs can’t even function as a team which was their entire point. They kill key characters off without any real reason or killing what made them cool in the games. Such as Captain Keys dying to the flood but fighting the proto-Gravemind to his last breath. Instead he dies in an explosion. Also why is the UNSC cartoonishly evil? I get they do shady things ONI gives the Inquisition from 40k a run for their money but seriously? Why are they more outwardly evil than the genocidal aliens? This show just takes the bullet points from the series and just says everything else is ours.

Halo 4 completely ignored the lore established in the Bungie halo series.
Humanity are the reclaimers and the reclaimers are the forerunners. Halo 4 just completely ignored this and made forerunners different from humans and introduced the whole mantle idea.
I like both interpretations honestly. Both add to the overall mythos of the universe so I could really take either version and be happy! Thanks for watching!
Actually the change was being made as early as Halo 3 if you pay attention to the terminals and books that came out between it and Halo 4.

If the Halo TV series was its own thing and not adaptation from the Game Anthology. It's actually quite an enjoyable show. Sadly what we got was a disappointing broken and rewritten Halo lore. Still hoping it will become more palatable.
I agree! If it was it's own story I would like it. If I remove from my mind that it's supposed to be halo, I enjoy it, it's just on its merits as a halo series it falls short unfortunately. Thanks for watching!

It’s a terrible show because of all the plot holes.
Makee for example. Zero explanation on how she’s just back. If it was meant to be a soft reboot it’d make more sense but they acknowledge her “death” from season 1 and just never mention it again.
My expectations weren't incorrect because I expected a halo series. Alternative timeline or not, every franchise has rules. I wouldn't mind changes, if they felt like they respected the source material. Even some things in the source material, are not good. It's not that I had misplaced expectations, it's that this series is a bad adaptation. Not resident evil bad, but some of the changes approach that territory. Thanks for watching!
