my favourite thing about the presentation of the Spartans and the rest of the forces on the ring in general is the extensive backstory taught through the audio logs and environmental details, it allows you to really understand the scale of the conflict
I need to mention that the fates of Spartans: Vettel, Korvan and Horvath were all described in the deleted audiologs from the campaign. Canonically they're in a gray area, they can always be retconned if any writer working for 343i would want to write a future story featuring these characters. Anyways the fates of the spartans are as follows: Spartan Vettel: After locating the location of Spartan Griffin, Vettel was cut down by Chak 'Lok after an attemp to infiltrate The Tower Spartan Korvan: After entering a long range engagement with the Banished, Jega Rdomnai quickly caught up to her. As she was dying Jega taunted her with the fact that her fellow soldiers will soon be killed by the banished. Spartan Horvath: A day before the Master Chief's arrival at zeta halo, Horvath located the house of reckoning and Escharum with it. He planned to assassinate the war chieftain himself in his own fortress. When Escharum was recruiting members to join the hand of Atriox he killed some of them before ultimately engaging Escharum. After being defeated by him, the leader of the banished showed him respect before ultimately beheading him. The only reason i never mentioned them was because Kelly Gay asked for those logs to be cut. She gave Kovan and Horvath a story and they were teleported away from the battle of Zeta halo, but Vettel is in a gray area as thats what most likley happened. Although I dont see a spartan 4 with Vettel's skills dying to Chak'lok
Like 107 said, the stories of those Spartans are clarified by Kelly Gay in her novel Halo: The Rubicon Protocol. It's a great read, I even listened to some of Infinite's audio logs while I was reading because they do match up. Hope we see more of Horvath, Kovan, and maybe Vettel
@@teary-eyedstew yeah I've read it too. Thing is that the book ends on the last halo infinite audio log and it got me wondering if the cut audio logs were also written by Kelly Gay.
Since Halo 4 Chief has been assigned to the UNSC Infinity. During his assessment it would be a poor underutilization of his military record to not have him mentor, coach, or train with the rest of the Spartans assigned to the Infinity. While these Spartans aren’t Blue team or maybe aren’t partially close friends, from Chief’s behavior in Infinite, I’d guess he knew each of the KIA personally before Weapon identified them, and likely had some form of personal relationship to them.
@@ryan_1099 Yep the entire fireteam castle was it or domino was wiped by the helmless elite and his forces on an ambush. Luckily Majestic had cutscene plot armor and killed the guy

Amazing summary of the fate of each of these Spartans. It was great to hear some more lore I hadn’t heard before.
After reading Rubicon Protocol, I really felt for Stone. Girl went all out in the end, scary to see. Man I want a spin-off where we play as Horvath.
great video analysis.
To be a Spartan, Is to fight to... just BE HUMAN

@@ampexpl I hadn't thought of that! It might be fun to ask her that at some event in the future or if she has socials or something

actually, griffins' status is MIA because Spartans never die due to morale spread by oni
You wanna know something stupid? 343 is trying to convince us brutes more dangerous than prometheans.
Wanna know something even stupider? 343 is making another halo, instead of Bunjie taking it back and undoing the damage 343 has done
@@TheSillyDragonflyI don't know why peeps still think Bungie is the same Bungie from 15 years ago
Also a lot of Spartans died on Requiem if the ones in Spartan Ops or campaign count lul
Kinda depressing to think about actually

Yeah with the new humanoid Greg design, “ha my ass!”
Really fun video, gonna dress up as one of the members while playing Firefight now :)
nice vid :)
Glad i got this recommended given the low viewer count 🙏
canonically, aren't Spartans not allowed to be listed as KIA, to increase their mysticism only allowed to be listed as MIA, "Spartans never die"
At least for the Human-Covenant War. Is that still true after?
@thestormwar as of 2258 spartans are allowed to be listed at KIA to honor that sacrifice instead of cover it up
Halo infinites story was honestly cool and interesting, do much wasted potential.
The Kanye West ruins the tone of this entire thing in a good way.
