    teammate rivalries are more intense because they race in the same vehicle so it comes down to their skill whereas drivers from other teams drive in different vehicles so its much less intense. and plus they are fighting for a seat on the team for the next season so they are much more competitive

    • @davidcastromacia7166
      @davidcastromacia7166 Před 9 měsíci

      That's not really true. It has been proved many times that F1 teams do a best job in their first pilot car to avoid an excess of competition between the two pilots, at least when we are talking about contending teams.

    • @DavidStruveDesigns
      @DavidStruveDesigns Před 9 měsíci

      @@davidcastromacia7166 Not true. Teams force their drivers into competition and conflict _all_ the time. They constantly give one driver priority over the other, even if the first guy is actually doing better (for "team points" or the drivers championship). The drivers are constantly in competition with each other to be the top guy who gets that priority and even to get first pick as one of the teams two main drivers. Even the cars themselves get different treatment and focus depending on whom the team is favouring at the time. And then they go and encourage the teammates to actually race each other and fight with each other over placements which is bound to lead to collisions and bad tempers. The two drivers may be on the same branded team, but they're far from being what anyone would consider _actual_ teammates - they're much closer to being absolute rivals who just so happen to have the same car company brand on their vehicle.

    I have to be honest. This is a bad video. It is all over the place, with a lot of misinformation, or at least a lot of context missing. 14:08 for example, Verstappen and Ricciardo are very good friends, even to this day, and there is a chance that Ricciardo will go back to Red Bull in 2024 or 2025. He didn’t leave because of this incident, he left because he was worried about the Honda engine that Red Bull was switching to for 2019

    When Senna died in 1994, many legends of F1 were on the grid and even off the grid. One of the most iconic non-driver people was Dr. Sid Watkins, one of F1's medics. He was hugely respected and liked by all drivers and he has seen too many of them die in the sport. Sadly he has also passed away a few years ago. Many a great driver was on the grid that year, some past, current or future world champions - Senna, Schumacher, Hill, Mansell, Häkkinen, Alesi, Berger, Frentzen, Ratzenberger, Brundle, Irvine, Herbert, Fittipaldi, Barrichello and many, many others. The grid reads like a who's who of F1 legends.
    It is 'thanks to' these accidents that F1 is as safe as it is right now. Though no sport will ever be completely safe.

    For a full look back at Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg's history as teammates, the Silver War videos are probably your best bet. They cover two of the three years that they were teammates at Mercedes and won the Constructor's Title, despite the several collisions between themselves. Senna did not crash at 192 MPH, he managed to change down several gears whilst breaking so the impact speed was closer to 145 MPH. The commentator made it sound like Senna made a mistake, in reality his steering column failed due to a botched modification by the team, he was powerless to avoid the crash. Anyone that has seen to onboard footage from the Friday vs the race on Sunday can see his steering wheel moving unnaturally. An engineer actually created a graphical model showing how that unnatural movement was as a direct result of the botched weld failing.
    They found a rolled up Austrian flag in the cockpit of Senna’s car, he was going to raise it as a tribute to Ratzenburger at the end of the race.

    An NBA team has only one goal which is to win the title. Where basketball is a team sport and tennis an individual sport, F1 combines a bit of boths. In F1 you have both a driver championship and a constructor championship. During a grand prix, drivers score individual points for themselves, while teams gets the sum of points won by their two drivers. As a racing driver, if you're on a very good F1 team which gives you a very good car compared to the rest of the field, your teammate ultimately becomes you're biggest threat if you aspire to win the driver championship. There's a lot of examples in F1 history of teammates beefing on and off the track.

    For Hamilton and Rosberg, it was that they were friends since the start of each others careers in karting, with Lewis always besting Nico in the championships, and when they got to F1 they first drove in different teams, then Mercedes got Nico to pair with 7 time world champion Michael Schumacher until Schumacher decided he had parted all his knowledge to the team and that he couldn't do F1 as well as in the past, then they got Lewis, and at first everything went well, but slowly as the Mercedes car was so good they could only really race each other and both wanted to win the championship, there were rumours that Lewis refused to give up on a title for Nico, but what we know for sure is that Lewis is not the easiest person to drive against as a teammate, he is extremely fast (especially at the height of his career) on track but an ass, keeps complaining and being a diva about others fighting him wheel to wheel, and as Mercedes is a British team with German manifacturers name on it, Lewis being British and a proven world champion already, the team usually gave in on his requests more than Nico's which eventually cracked their relationship either when Lewis fucked Nico over a win and Nico then proceeded to throw his podium cap back at Lewis and not celebrate or when Nico made a mistake at Monaco in qualifying when he was on pole meaning Lewis could not set a faster lap and Lewis blamed Nico for it.
    Both were wrong at times, Lewis being well, Lewis off track and incredibly talented on track and well Nico wanting to win so hard he would fracture a team in two rather than work with the whole team because he felt he was due a championship in 2016 and well. He won. He then rubbed salt in the wound by announcing his departure from the sport so that Lewis could never take victory against him again.
    Now the two are on cordial terms where while there is tension whenever they talk on camera, they can still joke around and be civil which was.. hardly the case from 2016 to 2021

    F1 is awesome, but it's one of the safest motorsports because af all the work that's been put into it to improve tracks and driver protections.
    Way back, though, it was indeed a very dangerous sport with the worst year having around a third of the drivers being killed.
    With Latifi's crash at Monaco, the cars, and tyres, are designed to drive at race speed, and when behind a pace car the tyres lose a LOT of their grip because they're too cold, and once they're locked up and sliding it's hard to regain control.

    Reasons why teammates often have beef especially is the better teams is because they all have the same dream of being world champion and unlike every other sport where if your team wins you all win, in F1 there's only 1 winner, if your teammate wins you ain't getting anything. At the end of the day there's only room for 1 and one driver is guaranteed to end the season a bit disappointed especially if your teammate beats you and even worse if they beat you to the world championship in the same car. Ontop of that most racers want to be in F1 but there's only 20 on the grid so you have to be the best of the best and if your teammate is outperforming you its makes you look bad and more replaceable

    Back in the day a driver could make one mistake and be out of the race or even life. Today there are runoff areas and safety zones everywhere so driver skill isn't really shown anymore. You can drive until you fail to keep the car on track and then you just drive back up on the track.
    The marvelous drivers that really could find the edge of the grip without going over can't use their skills anymore.
    Now the most relevant driver skill is to drive slow enough to keep the tyres alive.
    It has got really boring.

    The guy who made that video you are reacting to either didn't want to spend much time on it or he just doesn't really understand F1 and doesn't know even some of the basic facts. So many mistakes, misleading shots and other little errors.. Honestly, as a lifelong F1 fan, I wouldn't watch another video from him. But I guess it's enough for anyone who doesn't watch F1 as the details won't really affect you. But I'm sure there are other videos about the same topic that are much better made.

    I searched for a good video about their rivalry but I couldn't find one with much explaining around it. I saw about all 2016 races between them and some about or Hamilton or Rosberg that season.... Too bad not a good explanation about the rivalry

    The relationship between Hamilton and Rosberg really started to sour when Mercedes blamed Rosberg for every single incident between the two of them , WHen it was obvious to people watching (including many British fans) that Hamilton was the driver at fault.

    Back in the 60's, drivers could compete in lower series(F1 drivers allowed in F3 events).... Up to 60 races a year.
    Now, less than 30.
    Did jody scheckter have a no crash season his championship year?
    I dont believe any champion had a no crash career.... I bet money, having a "no crashes" Career doesn't matter to the drivers that did NOT become champ.

  • @AHVENAN
    @AHVENAN Před 7 měsíci +1

    I disagree, it's not the most dangerous sport in the world imo, yes the speeds are very high and when they crash it looks godawful, and yes, in the past it may well have been at the very top of most dangerous sports, BUT modern F1 cars are extremely well engineered and much safer than they look.
    Something that attests to this fact is that, the last time there was a fatal crash in F1, in 2014 when Jules Bianchi had a crash and then died 9 months later, it had been an entire TWENTY YEARS since the previously most recent fatality back in -94 when Ayrton Senna was killed
    Also the fact tha Grosjean was able to survive literally going straight through a metal crash barrier, his car being split in half and him being engulfed in a massive fireball, that I also think is quite a statement about how incredibly safe the cars are these days!
    The Isle of man TT is MUCH more dangerous than F1, by several hundred miles in comparison!
    Total number of fatalities in F1 - 52 since 1952, Isle of man TT - 232 in the same timeperiod, and that is only counting riders, not including race officials, non competition, parade laps, unofficial testing, and spectators

    Spectacular and dangerous as it is, this is nowhere near the most dangerous sport, approaching 10 times as many have died in the Isle of Man TT race. See.... The Isle Of Men: The World's Deadliest Motorcycle Race | TIME
