Bayern Scored eight goals against Barca. Paris (2), Lyon (2) and Leipzig (3) scored together only 7 goals in the other three Matches.

Barcelona had some home advantage. The Lisbon stadium is closer for logistics, and the climate there is similar to Barcelona. Not entirely a neutral location.

This was a depressing result for football. I remember the Barcelona side of the early to mid-00's, they were terrifying, they had possibly the best club team in footballing history. Not only was he a legendary defender, he was a true leader, a captain that this Barcelona team is missing. Messi is an unbelievable player but he isn't and never was a true leader.
He was a big character but an average defender. Positioning was often off, he could be beaten in one on one's and tended to over commit in the tackle and go to the to ground too easy. Baresi, Maldini, McGrath, Thuram is the standard of legend, he was a long way off that level
