I didn't think a jacket like this would be useful but having seen your styling I now need one too! Thank you for the sewing content which is just so helpful. I have downloaded the pattern using your affiliate link.
Thanks so much for all your hard work on this channel . Your hard work has enhanced my sewing 100%
The outfit of the top and wide leg pants looks fabulous on you.
You look great! You've lost weight and it's noticeable. I think you always look good, and the quality of your makes is excellent. I'm an experienced sewist 66 yr old curvy latina😊 I always learn something new from you on construction technique.
Thanks for your comment, as per my community guidelines, I’d appreciate comments only about sewing as this is a channel where weight is not discussed 👍🏼. Weight gain or loss can have both a positive or negative context and I chose not to talk about that.
What a beautiful addition to your wardrobe! I love the versatility! I want to make it along with the wide leg pants. Thank you for showing us how to wear it!
It’s gorgeous in that linen! And what’s not to like about FREE 😊 thank you. You get a gold medal in sewing 🏅
This is one of the nicest free patterns I’ve seen. The bonus is it’s from ITS. Love her designs. Karina, thank you for bringing it to our attention ❤ I was looking to sew a little jacket and you made it easy for me. 😊
Thank you for generously allowing free access to this delightful topper. Simple, neat and elegant.
Wow those wide leg pants from your first style are fabulous and that whole outfit is just stunning! I am excited to try this top for myself! Thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you Katrina plan to sew this, as always love how you explain and show how to wear it
Your Deba topper is beautiful! I especially love it with your colourful Samara pants - such a striking outfit!! ❤❤❤❤
Hi. Thank you so much for the free pattern. You look great in everything you sew. Very talented sewer. Have a nice day.
The basting stitch makes such a difference. Love this video and this pattern. You are the best! Happy sewing.
Its lovely, i paused your video and ordered this pattern 👍 enjoy your Olympics, so fun!
Nice, I will be making a navy one to go over a brand new make (simplicity pattern jumpsuit) I'm about to finish today! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous makes and styles.
Can't wait to make mine. Love your red one!!!
Thanks for styling this, it’s a perfect fit for you!
Wow! What a cute FREE pattern! I love the curved hemline as well. Thanks for offering this!
You are so welcome!
This is such a cute jacket. Thank you for showing it to us. Now, go back and enjoy the rest of the Olympics. It only happens every four years, so take some time off - you deserve it!
I'm very inspired by your styling. Looks so beautiful - YOU and the clothes! Thanks for your amazing content.
Thank you for letting us know about this beautiful free topper pattern. I love the way you styled yours. 🥰
Beautiful as usual! All good looks with pants, skirt, and dress! Actually I loved hearing about your love for the Olympics! Allows us to know you a little more- for someone other than our sewing teacher/expert! ❤
Thank you for such a great showcase of this cute little topper! I have ordered it and will print it first thing in the morning. I'm adding it to my travel wardrobe to a big European holiday.
When I first got back into sewing my own clothes since teenager years, my neck facing was standing up like a Popal outfit
OMG...you look stunning in your Samara pants....amazing!
You really are the best at sewing 👍 Also thank you very much for the great tip to avoid burning the fingers 😅🙏
Beautiful! I've downloaded and will be trying this very soon! Thank you!
Hi! I just love your channel. You are so pretty in all of your makes. I am going toget that pattern ❤
It’s super super cute :)
Beautiful outfits. Just started my pattern, so I'm glad I watched this to remind me of where to spend the time to get the best look. Like the short length.
Wow, so many looks for this topper and your lovely makes! I loved it with your long striped skirt! And your dresses! And your slacks! So many. And it’s free. Yes I’ve been watching as much Olympics as I can, especially the swimming. I was a competitive swimmer in high school and I really get into it. I learn something from every Olympic Games.
Thank you so much for alerting us Karina . Great Pattern .
Even though it takes longer I prefer the method you used of serging/overlocking the pieces separately. Especially if it is the first time making something and adjustments might be needed. Back when my children were little and my sewing time was limited I didn’t usually do the slower method but now I have more free time. I think it might just be me but I really struggle with hand stitching, between the thread tangling and my not very pretty hand work I kind of avoid it. I do hand baste where I will be pulling it out later.
What a perfect piece with all your pieces. Needed summer piece.
I totally agree!
looks like a baseball jersey. i love wearing baseball jerseys! I prefer hand hemming every hem, including sleeves.
As soon as I noticed the pattern on the ITS site I thought it’s great looking, but waited to see your video before making my next move. Thank you for great videos and being reliable, even during the Olympics.
Thank you for the video on the Deba Topper. The red is beautiful, and the complete outfit is lovely ♥♥
Thanks for sharing this free pattern. It’s been “sweaty hot” weather in Ohio lately.😅
Dating myself here, but our home ec teacher, in the late 60's, taught hand hemming only. Old school! I, also, find doing some hand sewing relaxing, though ~ I don't think I'd like to make an entire garment!
I wouldn’t make a whole garment either :)
Woohoo 🙌 love the samara pants combo.
I love so many of her patterns. Thanks for sharing this. You've hacked a couple of great toppers out of other patterns, but didn't even have to use your imagination here! - Kelly
Love it, and the blouse you are wearing.
Olympic's me too! So impressed with the skills of all those athletes!
And as always Thank you Karina for a beautiful and free project!
I downloaded it right away with your link!
Love the different ways you styled the top.
Lovely pattern - I will be happy if you also show how you hand sewing 😊
Nice make I that it’s a curve hem
I like that sew foot you used. I think I have something like that.
Wow! You look amazing in these outfits. The first pair of rayon pants is especially beautiful and exotic. Thank you. Keep up the good work!
Thank you. Got it!!🎉
Oh wow, I loved the new "free" pattern on you and how you paired it with your pants and skirt, absolutely gorgeous on you!!! Thank you for the tip on that "free" pattern!
Hi Karina, what are you wearing - looks fabulous. Can't wait to make the Deba, great for all those remnants I've accumulated.
Thank you 🎉
Very pretty. 💕
Hi Karina l like all the pieces you've made to go with the topper, all are beautiful 😍 and well made 🤗💕👏👏
Thanks for this! Such a pretty pattern and how nice that they offer it for free. ❤ I’m the slowest hand hemmer but agree it looks so nice. I just do it with the television on. Enjoy your weekend! 😊-Deborah
Thank you!
As always, thank you for sharing. You’re sewing information is sooo priceless ❤
Love the top and the sew along. I think this would make a great top. I would love to see a hack or purchase add-on with ties in the front or button to make it into a shirt. It would need a modesty placket ❤. Love the shirt .
Very becoming on you! Excellent fit and flattering colors! Looking forward to seeing and learning more….thank you!
You look beautiful in your striking trousers and topper. ❤
This is so awesome! A free Topper from Itch to Stitch. I already ordered it.
Looks great. I’m going to give this a try. Thanks for sharing
I thought you were going to take some time off to enjoy the Olympics 😊
Thanks for sharing this new pattern!
Love your topper, and your styling. Thank you.
Wow! I love your version! I need to download and sew this pattern! ❤❤❤❤
Great! Just got it! Looks great with pants and skirts!
Looks lovely. A very useful little topper.
Thanks for the heads up on the free pattern. Love your version
Wow, I just love this pattern. Thanks for demo. Xx
Thanks Karina, that’s a lovely little top and free too so I’ll get one. I like Itch to Stitch patterns they always fit so well. I was thinking this one could be made into a little blouse if you added a placket at the front that went behind the buttons. I think I’ll give that a try.
Happy sewing 🧵🪡🇦🇺
Got it Thank you
Ohhhhh this is perfect. I have some linen and want to make a pants set. I love that there's cup sizes too.
I wonder how this would look as a duster????
So so cute with the Samara pants!!
thank yu for the free pattern wonderful, just what I was lookin for
all your works are so amazing, gorgeous Karina
You look very pretty in your topper.😊
I am totally obsessed with the Olympics too. Since I was a child, this is must see t.v. Getting my Deba right now.
The red topper looks brilliant with your fuller pants!
I have to say this is the first time I have noticed you sewing the darts frm the point to the side. You are always so meticulous with your sewing! Can you tell me why you do it that way?
I also love that you hand-sew your curved hems! That I can totally agree with!
Because I can control where the needle enters the fabric exactly when I start sewing to get a neater dart point. That’s harder to do when the tip is at the end of the seam.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Thank you so much for explaining! I will try this on my very next dart, taking my time of course!
Oh Karinna, take the time off and watch the Olympics. Your Brazilian gymnists did so well. I hope Rebecca Andrade is ok after she did a face plant in Practice. She cut her eyebrow, it was horrible to watch but she is so good. Anyway, I never thought about that topper but seeing you make it and wear it, I now need one or two or more. Thank you for showing that. Btw, those vibrant pants are just plain Fabulous on you. The other outfits are really cute too but those pants are the best, of course I mean the fabric print.
It was actually Flávia Saraiva that had the accident in warm up. She competed with her eye bandaged up. Rebeca didn’t have an accident. I’ve really been enjoying the gymnastics.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles oh that’s funny, our tv showed Andrade while they were talking about the injury. I didn’t hear them say anyone else’s name. Great broadcasting. Rebecca is going to be the next Simone, she’s so good and really gave Simone a run for the money, meaning she couldn’t take it for granted. I’m guessing Simone won’t be back.
@@annescanapico7168 I have a feeling Simone will be back! I love watching her. Rebeca is just amazing.
Am about to get that pattern - it’s just want to complete a floral linen button thru sundress I made two summers ago in which the straps don’t suit me. Have loved your work for years now.❤
Beautiful jacket! Well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thanks so much for sharing. A real wardrobe staple!!!!!
What a nice surprise! I knew you were watching the Olympics this week and didn’t expect to see a video. On top of that it’s for a free topper! Absolutely gorgeous and such possibilities! I can see this as a three season piece.
What a flattering top!😊
Really cute topper! Could you do a brief instructional video on tips and tricks for a beautiful hand hem? I need a refresher!
@@marybethhuber1541 Ive never done one because I just use a slip stitch. I don’t do anything fancy. I do care about taking my time and making it invisible from the right side.
Thanks!
Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much x
❤
Looks fantastic with not too much effort I’m going on a cruise in a few weeks so I’m definitely going to make a couple of these and some wide leg trousers. I love the blouse you are wearing, your clothes always have such a great fit ❤What pattern is it? X
Hi Karina, I love your videos! They've helped me so much to learn new skills and gain sewing confidence. Thank you. What top/dress are you wearing ... it's lovely 😊
Karina, another wonderful video. I too love to hand sew hems and basting. Can I ask when you make a guide stitch, I am assuming that is actually a basting setting or am I incorrect?
I love the Samara pants. Got both patterns through the link. You always make me smile😊.
It’s just a straight stitch at a longer stitch length.
Gorgeous work and look!! Where can I find that blind hem presser foot? I’ve been looking and can’t find it!
Hi I’ve just discovered your channel and love this pattern and how fabulous you look in the topper! I have downloaded and cut out the pattern and can’t wait to begin. Could I make it into blouse instead of a topper by adding a couple more buttons down the front?
@@MargieBowles for sure you can make a blouse but consider that the button does not overlap at the center. I’d make a blouse by putting the center on the fold instead and not having buttons
Thank you
Hi Karina, thanks for sharing this pattern, it's just what I need (in white) right now. Also, your hair looks really nice in this video, did you get it trimmed maybe? You look great. Glad you're enjoying the Olympics!
How did you lower the bust point down one inch? I know how to do it with a rectangle on a regular top but the extended sleeve is confusing me. Thanks for all you do.
The dart is quite away below the curve of the sleeve. It does not really interfere with lowering the dart
Could I sew the front up so far to make it into a blouse 😊
The fronts don’t overlap so that’s why I would not just add more buttons (you’d see your bra)
😊😊😊
I can never find your current affiliate link on your website and have ordered older patterns I would like to add your link to but can’t . Am I missing it.
liftingpinsandneedles.com/affiliate-links-patterns-sewing-tools/ these are all my link
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Thank you Karina.
Thank you! The topper looks great. Is there a way to print a smaller size range? The pattern printout is 64 pages because it includes all sizes. My size is in the smaller range. It would save a lot of paper if I could limit the printout. I looked on the download and couldn't find it. I can contact ITS and ask them if you don't have that information. Thanks again!
It’s not 64 pages. You print the front piece for your cup size only. You’ll find the pages to print in the file, page 1 (not in the instructions)
