They made the comment that their experts had to look under a microscope to see the differences. They ended the video by saying the biggest factor was the wearing knowing the difference and not feeling happy. I thought damn! I'd feel a lot happier by looking at my bank balance. Thing is, even if you spent $7,000 on one, most people would wonder if it was a fake anyway lol so, less than 24hrs later I just placed my order for a seamaster 300m in blue :-) and tempted with a black rolex sub and a white daytona

BUT I bought it in 2020 for 3.9k on the grey market when the SMP was the biggest bang for your bug. Today I am not sure if I would pay the current prices. Actually thinking about to buy a green SMP rep. Just a reaction of that countless price increases from Omega I guess...😅

I have some real Omega, Grand seiko and replica Rolex. I wont buy Omega fakes as they are always available at the dealers. Rolex is absolutely asking for fakes to be made and bought. The Rolex fakes are also pretty indistinguishable from the real ones which also is a testament to how overpriced they are. Omega and all the other fakes are easies to spot as the Rolex ones because they make, quite simply, more intricate watches that require more steps. Another testament that Rolex is massively overpriced

They do the same job (I'm speaking of the good ones), they look the same, they are made with the same steel/artificial sapphire/brass, they keep the same pressure, the tiny quality difference can be seen with a 10x loupe and they will not come with me in the grave as any object. With the money I save I can buy experiences (travelling,or making my house better or...) and experiences are always better than "objects". Finally, since I am a practical person, for me it is an absolute non sense forking huge amount of money for something that is 10% value and 90% hype as anything that characterize itself as "luxury". And this is valid for all "luxury" stuff: I prefer to pay a tailor to make me a custom blazer than to spend double for an of the shelf Armani (not mentioning the garbage like the 200$ Nike vietnam-made shoes etc). And, finally, my person is what it is based on my successes, my mistakes, my personal growth, not certainly by the sticker I have on a pair of shoes or a watch. Those eventually are for my own enjoyment :)

So buying something like this kinda freshens up the watch rotation. I respect the art of the watch but not it's inflated price. When you hold a high end fake that can fool several Jewelers, then you'll prob change your mind like I did. Also I've bought several lower end fakes simply to swap out the straps for my real ones
You get what you pay for. Although with a replica like this it’s possible you actually get a lot less. Lol. You can buy a WAY better watch for the money. If you want an Omega Seamaster you should buy one. You see there’s this Swiss company named Omega... they actually designed and built this type of watch! And get this you can buy ones that THEY make!
Actually if you read the comparisons, fake ones are manufactured identical - you are only paying extra for swiss watch makers time instead of cheap slaves, and also the bump up simply from name. You aren't getting more. You are actually getting less value for your money buying real.
