Demon's Crest Any% Speedrun -

My new Personal Best Any% in 10:37.31! With some mistakes and a few time saves left on movement and bosses, pushing the time so close to 10:2x, the boss fights are becoming much more consistent, nullifying RNG attack patterns on bosses saves the most time and new theory setups are working consistently to reduce unfavorable attack patterns on Hippogriff, Arma, Belth, Flier and Flame Lord. (ai manipulation)
Played on NTSC-U SNES with region lock plastic pins removed, with an official Demon's Blazon NTSC-J Cartridge in composite (Yellow, White, Red) 4:3 ratio, deinterlaced.
Recorded with Elgato HD capture card, Xsplit broadcaster and Livesplit timer.
Speedrunning Casually since 2012 but taking it seriously since autumn 2017, when I fractured my wrist in late 2016, I decided to run the game when I got better and here I am.
Any% Category is beating the game as fast as possible using any means necessary (Glitches included) INSIDE the game in a single-segment.

how did you just enter phalanx castle and you face him without platforming through his stage??

its "any%" so he gets the bad ending which does not have a platforming section in phalanx's castle.
check a 100% run to see that part of the game, it is a nice stage.

Would you be able to do this in the US Demon's Crest version? I remember beating the game in about 2 hours because was taking my time to get about every item and enjoying the game.
I don't remember the bosses take so less hits to beat.
Might replay the US version to see and then play the Japanese version.

All my levels are different im so confused, I just go to the areas in order 1,2,3 and all my bosses/attacks are different than the video

I find the rules of what a “ speed run “ is to be disingenuous. The rule feels stretched when you have an option for a cheap way out, or if you glitch through the game. I know the argument “ if its in the game and can be done its legit” i disagree. The glitch is a cheat, the optional ending is laymen. The speed run should always consider the continuity and context of the game as well as its intended direction. %100 Completion should be the whole of the rule. Gamers should challenge themselves. However i am impressed with this run. Maybe he can do the entire game.
