As a Minnesotan and former Orlando resident, I agree with your assessment. There was a quote when Lufthansa launched MSP services that they were targeting East African and middle eastern traffic, which is something Delta and SkyTeam don’t really address out of MSP.
As for Orlando, I was surprised when Emirates launched but they’ve absolutely held their own, and like MSP, Turkish feels like a natural next step for that part of the world from Central Florida.

Turkish to MSP I think makes the most sense due to the huge Somali community there especially. LH doesn’t serve Mogadishu but TK does which could make it much easier for travel between the two cities!

Turkish Airlines is simply amazing! I hope they keep growing exponentially! Their service is Top Notch like Gulf Carriers and their ticket prices are quite low.

Turkish Airlines was an amazing flying experience. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Was surprised to see Lufthansa flights to both Munich and Frankfurt during a recent visit to DIA.

TK is one of my favorites. Haven’t flown them in 10 years but I’d love to fly them again especially to visit the new IST. It’s great LH flies to both MUC/FRA from DEN too!

At this point TK is in a great position to dethrone major Middle eastern giants like Emirates and Etihad

Wow turkish does seem to be expanding a lot in the recent years. Travel to denver allowed to catch one of the Turkish Aircraft, really neat to see these operations considering so many other international carriers already have operations there!

The thing about Denver Airport is that it is effectively a gateway to the entire United States in all directions. There is almost no place in the country you can’t consistently directly go to on United from Denver. I don’t know why the other Star Alliance airlines that don’t already go there don’t go there. All Nippon, Singapore, EVA, Air New Zealand, Air India, Air China, and Asiana from the Asian/Oceanic side would open up the entire US east, north or south of Denver through codeshares, and from the European/Asian/Latin American side Avianca, SWISS, LOT, TAP, Ethiopian, Austrian and Brussels would have the entire US west, north and south of Denver through codeshares.

Other cities they could hopefully go to in addition to the ones mentioned:
    -Nashville
-Buffalo or Rochester NY (large Turkish population there)
    -San Diego
    -Fort Lauderdale
    -New Orleans
    -Indianapolis
    -Milwaukee
    -St. Louis
    -Austin
    -Salt Lake City
    -Portland OR
    -Providence RI or Hartford CT
    -Cleveland
    -Pittsburgh
    -Cincinnati
    -Raleigh
    -Calgary
    -Ottawa
-Baltimore (this is a very long shot because of Turkish’s partnership with United, which has a hub at the close-by and much bigger Washington Dulles Airport)

Keeps growing, but efficiency and punctuality are long gone, had a Barcelona Istanbul flight cancelled because of an engine problem (lousy Turkish on-time maintenance) on business class, we were treated like sheep, a total scandal.
