- A Toyota BJ40 SWB Landcruiser with a Twin Turbo 1GZ-FE V12 and its still 4WD!
Today on The Skid Factory we've got Nathan's Shorty 40 Series back in the shed to fix up a few things that have been on the "To-do" list for quite some time.
We're upgrading the ECU with a Haltech Elite 2500 using a Plug and Pin kit and replacing the Guages with a @haltech IC-7 Dash.
The Intercooler pipes are also modified so we can install a pair of GFB MACH 2 BOV's for maximum HOODOOOSH Noises.

Lovin' the ' Electric Company' reference when you read the firing order !! I can't believe it's been 4yrs since this build.
P
I've had the pleasure of meeting Nathan and doing some plumbing work for him, he was more than happy to show me the shorty, what a top bloke
I can show you my shorty if you do my plumbing too, pretty boy
Catch up at the next cars and coffee day at the airport 👍
Wait WooT! You played with Nathans plumbing .... YIKES! 😵💫
@@nobass_stub1394 😂😂
I never knew I needed Al singing a v12 firing order in my life until it happened. I would make it my ring tone if I thought I could hear it over my clattery old diesels. Thanks for the smile.
Was that an IT Crowd reference 👍

@@TeamGambleBMX I'd say old sesame street pinball number count thing
@@pcfronin definitely the Sesame Street pinball clip
@@pcfronin glad to see people are on it. 80s/90s PBS kids reporting in.
Loved Al singing the firing order to the Sesame St pinball song. Brings back my childhood. 😁
Al "look, it's a spaceship". That's great, Al's not crippled by a lack of imagination or fear of looking silly. What a top bloke :)
I love seeing Al this happy and care free, and what a top mate and father to have.
Much love Al and Woody, from Pommy Dave. ❤
Yes! V12 is back! Max cylinders for max torque
I like it when they redo their old work and go "tf was i smoking back then" 🤣🤣
Proper painting and use of quickie hammers are the key to engine builds!
"Proper" 🤣
Best car show on the internet. Great work Al and Woody.
Cheers mate!
I can't believe this build was almost 4yrs old. Remember to wait for each upload as they did this build. Making me feel old 😂🤘
Never laughed so hard than the sight of Nathan looking at the camera while almost roto rootering Al crouched over the engine with a 3/8 deep socket and short extension on an air ratchet.
Nice to see the BJ40 again. Hopefully both the car and Nathan can enjoy good health going forward!
It's always a real treat when you guys get an old skid factory car back in for more work. It's like watching your evolution of skills and knowledge.
Finally! A person with Vision!!
speaking of v12's I hope old mate from quickshift is ok, haven't heard anything for over a year
The engine bay looks great now! Looking forward to the tuning!
Thank you for all the information in this video. There is very little info on what needs to happen to get the most out of these engines. It's helped me wrap my head around the V12 beast in the garage. 🤙
Man I think hanging with you guys in the shed working on a project would be the most fun ever! You guys are so chilled and look like you have tons of laughs. You should run a give away comp where a subscriber could come hang for a day!
Havnt watched really since the mcmtv2 days and just finished watching this in the original build last night and this vid pops up today. pretty sweet timing.
Thanks boys!! 1st time smiling all week, keep it up ya legends 🤘🤠👍
Still can't believe that actually fits in there 😄. Love it guys 👍
So excited for more Kevin videos soon, love that car.
Super fun episode to watch. Great work, fellas!
That's a work of art!!!
Well done Yoda!!
Love what I think was a "Sesame Street" reference from Al, with the V12 firing order!
Always wanted to hear Turbo Yoda doing an impersonation of Sir David Attenborough 😂😂😂
Great job on the valve covers and the manifolds Woody 😎 they look killer! I've put 2k clear over acrylic, engine enamel, rattle can wheel silver... Never had any issues, she'll be right mate 😜
Twin turbo v12 makes all the right noises 👌🏻😎
The David ALtonbourough impression was shmikko!!!
Loving the content this year, you guys are killing you it . Nearly lost me last year, don't ask me why. but so far this year, awesome
Good to see Nathan again.
Was a cool build back in the day. I remember thinking plenty of horse torques for mud bogging. Cheers lads
Good to have such good mates
Great to see this car again
That v12 sounds nice!
EPIC! This is somehow more sacreligious than my Audi 5 cylinder turbo pickup truck.
Love the stock look cool truck. Great work as usual.
Great video guys. Thanks.
40 series cruisers are God tier ❤
Nice shoutout to the Bad Obsession Motorsport boys. Agreed, about time they pulled their fingers out and finish Project Binky. Also got the Escargot and a rather tasty MG waiting. Al and Woody, thanks for yet another great video. You guys rock.
welding is looking really good Woodster!
15:00 this music is getting way cooler, well done
Putting a Haltech ECU into my T4 Transporter Ute. Is i think: the only way i'll ever rid myself of the horrible electrical gremlins in this old beast.
Wish i could find an Auto Sparky in Nth Qld to take on a job like that. I've got plenty of money, and the vehicle is a unicorn.
Al, your ECU conversions give me hope. Cheers, Rusty.
Nothing says top quality like a Jake & Friends ECU. 😂 Al is incredible with the wiring rework, nice job.
Great as always.
Amazeballs as always
Love the Steve Irwin impersonation 😉
Top video, top blokes. Very interesting with the position sender and speed sensor from haltech, ill have to get me some for my setup. In regards to the cruise control, it is possible to make a setup with drive by cable with a stepper motor. I made a setup that was inspired from my old Saab 900. I put a ''jaw'' clamp on the stepper motor connected to the cable and wired into my ECU which would pull the cable until the speed sensor would receive the requested speed.
This week on the Haltech Factory! :)
id say its still better than mighty haltech mods haha
Commodores with cable throttle have a cable cruise control. The actuator is fitted to the passenger side chassis rail. Might be something you can adapt to fit.
Davis Alanbrah does great impressions
Seeing the valve covers outside on the saw-horses really gives you some perspective for the size of this beast.
Nicely done
Just gotta say Woody is looking slick 😎👍
Great job!
Be interesting to see Alan and Pete Harrell sit down and discuss controls.
And Woodrigos needs a haircut! 🤣
I’m sure Woody wouldn’t mind a knowledge sharing session.
Alan Attenborough's assessment of the dirt dobbers had me chuckling quietly to myself.
Alan Attenborough , legend.
I still cant believe its 3 years from original video. WOW what a journey
17:26 that’s how u know Al is a true mechanic, tongue out means ur in truly focused mode.
I like the pink valve covers!
You guys are the best. V12 swap the world.
How rad! Next time it’s in, twin snorkels!!
it's the best 4x4x12 by far :-)
Damn I enjoy watching your videos! Thank you and keep it up.
I was just talking to a mate yesterday about putting a 1UZ in my FJ40 shorty. I think it's a sign 😅
I bought a spare early 1UZ for my Soarer so I can have another pair of heads to port match the log manifolds im making and not have her off the road for ages.
So that'll leave me with a spare stock engine to do dumb shit with 😅
I'll come say hi at MotorEx, the Soarer is entered in Real Street already on the Sunday. Can't wait 👌
The dose is strong in this one.
Good attempt at the Sesame Street counting song 😂
It's actually The Pointer Sisters.
I would say those valve covers are quite resplendent. 👌
5:15 behold Al's massive bong :D
It's the party ship, you and twenty mates all get one fitting each.......!
Love the wing covers on a car with no wings 😅and then just banging parts down on the arch of the toyota😂
The Attenborough impression made me laugh so hard! Hahahahs
True Blue content!
Al, that was a really good David Atenborough imitation.
In regards to the timing wander, I’ve had similar including usb gremlins, make sure the coil earth runs straight to the head. Even Link and Haltech play up otherwise.
Cheers boys, have bought some merchandise from ya. There’s some cool stuff on there 🙈
Insane
Awesome
Awesome works as always guys! What a sleeper!
That camera sway in the intro and outro had me 😵💫😂
Sorry that was my first time on the camera (and last time)
@@13bttlotus you got it done mate 👍
@@samleonard5504 don’t worry I was making myself seasick as well lol
what a beast!
The David Attenborough impression had me crying 😂😂😂😂
Al singing the V12 firing order instantly reminded me of Moss from "IT Crowd" where he sings the ridiculous long telephone number of the emergency hotline... 😂😁🤟
Reminds me of my friends Jeep YJ he transplanted a 454 Chev into it.
The sneaky Willson made me laugh 😂 have found similar artwork on a clutch pressure plate before
haha love the shade on WTF auto. V12 Supra plz!
That's going to be such an epic car once it's finished!
Every time I pop in to see Tristan I see some more changes in design or more shiny things... so I think a new video won't be far away.....
Hahaha yeah! Always enjoy public shots fired lol. It seems like he's chasing the dragon in search of perfection, and moving his own goal posts with every iteration. Props to him though, if you can keep the fire alight and the passion roaring then why not 👌🏻 Most mere mortals would start to lose interest with such slow progression though
8:15 - Makes sense Al's on NAN Comfort
Not gonna watch the whole build , however love you guys work and WHAT an insane project. Love it
See you guys at motorex will
Have my nugget in the real street section
Minty first fire!
Pro tip for the toolpro ratchet, knock out the roll pin for the flimsy metal trigger and promptly dispose of it, much more user friendly without it 👌
Skiddddddddssssss !!!!
WaaAAh - DOOooooo. 👌
What a beast all the same amd should've taken it Mr Landcruiser
Woody shoots amazing video and edits the video like a champ too. All the time on the tools as well as the youtube, videographing and editing. When do you sleep Woody?
Very nice
love watching woody point to the part of the screen where the links never are haha
pro tip - when working on fourby's let the front tyres all the way down - makes it so much easier for us short kings.
Because of this video, I learned that Toyota used to have a V-12!
Whadoooosh!
