    I just LOOOOOOVE this teacher!!!
    He's got it all: he's musical, kind to the pianist and the dancers, his exercises are clear, logical and musical. Oh, and did I mention that he's also really handsome?! :-D
    Well, he's just GREAT. Congratulations to him, Tim and the dancers!
    Looking forward to watching you on the 4th of October!

    'Don't worry if you've never done ballet before' LOL these are quite advanced exercises, and I would think anyone who hasn't done ballet has no idea what all the French terms mean! If you've never done ballet and you're going to have a go, please don't try to turn out like the professional dancers, do get really warmed up and don't strain to get any of the movements!

    • @noway4517
      @noway4517 Před 7 lety +23

      Yeah, and also the exercises don't do anything for you if you don't know the correct posture for them. For every little movement there is a lot to think about and he didn't explain anything.

    I’m not a dancer in ANYway....I’m 61 and into academic learning , mind oriented; I have NO physical or or sports ability...and I’m watching this because these wonderful dancers might as well be a different species to me. I love to see them use their bodies in ways I can only imagine and dream of. But what also strikes me...apart from the beauty of movement and expression; the muscular strength and flexibility is their phenomenal memory skills. I’m stunned watching these class vids at how the teachers rattle off a lengthy series of instructions/movements and the dancers can obviously internalise, visualise and perform them whilst making it look effortless. These are truly gifted remarkable people and we don’t value them anywhere near enough.
    Yet we pay millions to people for TV/radio presenting, playing sport, especially football, being ‘celebrities‘./reality tv wannabes ....I think our society has its values screwed.

    • @Oilofmercy
      @Oilofmercy Před 6 lety

      You are so right ... here in the US its true, but everywhere else in the world the arts come before sports and celebrity wanna be's! ( mind you this generation of selfie takers have taken over everywhere, I'm a classically trained pianist aged 47, i cant imagine too many millenials having the discipline to practise the hours it takes.)

      The injustice also shows when it comes to income. They work so very hard and don’t earn anything in comparison to sports stars or even models! Sometimes you hear that Russian dancers couldn’t afford tickets to the performances in which they dance a leading role!
      ( I am not a ballerina, just did ballet as a little girl and still enjoy watching it)

    To dance like this does not come easy.
    There is history in each dancer
    Discipline
    Tears
    Sacrifice
    Persistence
    Passion
    And above all
    LOVE
    there is no age to dance
    As long as you can move
    Beginning is all it takes to get you going, give it to yourself
    Give it to the world
    If the music siubd8
    Just move! Move! Move! From the bottom of your 💓!💃💃💃💃🕺🕺🕺

    • @MicheleEngel
      @MicheleEngel Před 6 lety +3

      They've been doing them since they were youngsters, and as they advanced in years, they took more and more classes so that by the time they are young adults, they have done the same exercises, steps, and routines many times each day. They have muscle memory going for them, and although the French seems daunting, they learn the names for each step and movement through repetition (it takes less time than you think when you do the same steps and movements every day in class). By the time these two are where they are, there aren't that many surprises during a class. They just keep working on physical strength, musicality, attention to detail, focus, etc. to perfect their performances.

      After puberty is the best time as the bones are still developing before that and you will damage them if you start before that. In big cities there are foot doctors that can review your feet if you want to be sure. Look for Drs. that work with ballet dancers. It's definitely not to late! I started ballet in college and became a professional by 23. Then a professor of dance later on! Keep on dancing!

      'Attitude' describes when the dancer stands on one leg and the other leg is lifted to the front or back with the knee bent. You can see an example here www.flickr.com/photos/royaloperahouse/22695400182
