La particolarità di questa cantante è nell'interpretazione. La differenza che possiede la Basso da i suoi colleghi cantori, bravissimi anche loro in questa aria del Disinganno, è che lei oltre a cantare sa anche interpretare il testo quasi come se lo raccontasse senza usare le note, quindi come se fosse una cosa normale. E poi la mimica facciale, una bravissima interprete!
The peculiarity of this singer is in the interpretation. The difference that Basso has from her fellow singers, who are also very good in this aria of Disinganno, is that in addition to singing she also knows how to interpret the text almost as if she were telling it without using the notes, so as if it were a normal thing. And then the facial expressions, a very good interpreter!
Concordo, la pantomima è un suo grande valore aggiunto, tutti i movimenti sembra proprio voler raccontare e spiegare con chiarezza come l'essere umano si faccia ingannare così facilmente pensando che il tempo sia fermo (riposi) quando in realtà in maniera impercettibile passa e scorre via, svelando ("quando spiega i vanni occulti", aprendo le sue ali che nascondono quelle verità che giungono solo dopo aver fatto esperienza) poco a poco delle conoscenze che arrivano quando oramai è passato (un modo di dire odierno sarebbe "col senno di poi"), e nonostante questo dispiegare le sue ali sia invisibile ("ma se i colpi sono ascosi"), quando la verità arriva alle menti umane è talmente forte, poichè l'agire del tempo è sembrato fino a quel momento immobile, che risulta nello stupore, sconcerto e disorientamento ("chiari poi sono gli insulti", qui "insulti" si intende un qualcosa che fa male e che arriva all'improvviso).
Tecnicamente Romina è veramente molto, molto, molto brava. Le note le sa tenere, le riempie, sa quando aumentare o abbassare il volume, gestisce le dinamiche in maniera ottimale, sa come e quando respirare, insomma è una grande cantante.
I saw her sing this in Stockholm, still with legato hand up and faces. I was sucked into the experience so much that I discovered that I did not breathe until my vision was limited.
Romina, your warm and deep voice is unparalleled. absolutely amazing. Even Cecilia cannot follow, but Ann comes close.
Ann is a high mezzo, Romina now is more contralto like. Two goddesses they are!
Unparalleled... Compare to Nathalie Stutzmann, who recorded the oratorio for a then youngster bassoonist turned conductor called Marc Minkovski, and then we can talk about warm and deep voices. Romina is a mezzo, not a high one like Ann or Cecilia, but neither an alto in any sense. If she were an alto, what would Stutzmann or Ewa Podles or Ferrier, or... be? Female tenors? 😇

What may the multitudes of people writing comments on CZcams like "the best I ever heard " and "the only one who can", etc., etc. possibly mean??? HOW MANY and WHOM have these people listened to among the dozens of recordings and performances of classical repertoire?? I often end up by discovering these people have ONLY listened ONCE to CZcams CLIPS!.... There is life outside the Tube! Musicians have been performing live and on commercial recordings before YT, haven't they heard? But that involves time and money spent on buying recordings and tickets, and attending concerts and thereby supporting performing musicians. Its better to surf YT for free and then commenting "the best one" (or worst), isn't it? It is also incredibly lazy and arrogant, and YT views and likes do not finance artistic careers in classical music, did you now? Good grief....
Most of Classical musicians do not receive loyalty, they just receive one time (not very high) payment, unless they’re super famous. Some of them even don’t receive complimentary CD copies of their own recordings.
There are the agreements between the online streaming companies including CZcams and the recording industry for publishing their products.

On this channel, the demographics of the viewers are diverse; teenagers to elderly from all over the world. Some are hardcore Classical music fans and some are casual listeners. Some of them are wealthy enough to own thousands of CDs and have attended thousands of performances. Some are too poor to do all these things or live far away from cities to attend a concert.
As long as they enjoy this music and performance, I don’t care the rest.
Well... The positive is the fact that people in general feels and loves it. That's the original intention and joyfulness of the composer.
