The proof is in the pudding! Great video Jacob, prep work makes the dream work. There isn’t anything I haven’t tried painting with Angelus at this point.. basketballs, pool tables, you name it
👆The most thorough teacher in the game.
You are who I've been learning the most from. I've seen a few people complain that the paint wasn't tough enough, but I've seen Ebron finish a full game with clean looking shoes, so I'm confused as to what others are missing in their prep work.
@@philliprowland2161 We have had employees do warehouse work for months in them with no problems. I know people say they prep but sometimes its just not enough. Wiping it down quickly will not cut it to cut down the finish for prep.
@@AngelusBrand that's what I was trying to confirm. Editing on videos always makes it look quick and easy. I know from woodworking and painting canvases that decent finishes don't come off that easy. Just wanted to make sure I don't waste time and money doing it halfway. I'm doing some football cleats for my sons next season, so we'll definitely see how my prep work pays off. Lol.
@@philliprowland2161 Watch them paint a car. If you want to talk having to be precise while making it look so easy you think anyone can do it. Talk about a hard project most would never be able to pull off but the video looks easy as can be.
This is a great example of how we can get away with painting more than just shoes. If prepped properly, Angelus has let me paint so many things. Best in the biz!!

Angelus paint is my go-to paint; I use it on everything from sneakers to jackets to polymer clay sculptures, and it works great slightly thinned in my airbrush.
There is a major reason why I have used this paint over half my life. Quality and consistency. From painting shoes like most of you watching, to full blown custom interiors of show cars and everything in between. My name and reputation speak for themselves on the quality of my work and that starts with the prep and then the paints. I don't get paid to use the products I work with, I CHOOSE to use them. When I see my finished work on stage, the courts or on screen, I feel good knowing the last thing I need to worry about is my artwork.
Thanks Chad! You have done some huge projects with our stuff and we are always excited to see what you are up to.

I love angelus paint. I use it for everything from sneakers, jackets to polymer clay sculptures. It works great slightly thinned in my airbrush. Angelus is definitely my go to paint.
We appreciate it! Always happy to hear from a happy customer.
Good shit!!!! I worked there for a short amount of time, and they do make top quality product...
Angelus is Amazing I use them since many years but what they need is to start producing here in Europe. Prices go crazy with all the Imports and resellers.
We are working on it! Plan on being a Made in America company for many years to come.
Do I need to add anything to the mix before painting on leather or is it good by itself?
Great video Jake. I have used angelus paint on boxing gloves and pads, sneakers jackets and T-shirts and the durability is hands down the best in the game.
They aren't ready for that video yet
Coming soon. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
This video made my day 🙌
Person who filmed it did a good job.
What I want to know is what will happen to canvas on a pair of suede and canvas shoes that are dyed with suede dye only? How will the dye affect the canvas?
Also, is there a link to exactly how to prep the leather surface to maximize longevity of the paint?
Here is one: czcams.com/video/V5Te0AXfATk/video.html We have a lot of prep videos though. Almost every video has a thorough prep section. Prep Prep Prep.
Great video, but it would have been nice to redirect to a “how to prep correctly” video, as I’ve watched a few and they all do different. Some use solvents, thinner, alcohol, isopropanol alcohol and other swear on nailvanish, but very little actually use the authentic Angelus deglazer. So what works best..? I assume the last, but please let me/us know. Thx in advance :)
We recommend Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer as we have formulated it to be strong enough to work very well, but not dry out as fast as straight acetone. However, if you cant get it, Acetone is the next best bet as lots of nail polish remover can be quite watered down. Sandpaper is also an excellent option and can be used by itself or in addition to Deglazer or acetone. Also, be sure to test any solvent in a small area before going at the whole shoe with it!
I love this brand even more now. Angelus I love you guys.😌
We love you too.
That there is some grade A marketing!! Well done Angelus!
It was a video we have wanted to do for years. Luckily we got Beck now to do some video magic!
I love this company's paint. It's the best on any show, top and bottom
Thank you for the kind words! It means the world to us.
Was this all with straight paint, or is it covered with 4coat?
No 4-Coat at all. Our 4-Coat and Acrylic Finisher are added protection but not necessary.
@@AngelusBrand that's impressive.
I paint derby skates with Angelus. Holds up better than the original usually.
Awesome! Can you send us pictures? Info@AngelusShoePolish.com we always love to see different stuff.
Question? when using the different coatings in an Airbrush do you have to use a reducer? Also when using the Paints in a Airbrush do you have to use a Reducer?
No, not for the finishers. You can however use the 2-THIN for the paints. That would be considered our "reducer".
Yesss, Angelus Paint I LOOOVEE YOUUUU
We are all here for a good time! 🔥
@@AngelusBrand and a long time apparently with that durability🤑
You are crazy Jake 😂🙈
What do you do before painting that makes the paint stick well?
It's all about preparation!! Leather Preparer, sanding if needed.
Does anyone know if I Can use 4-coat satin on a nike dunk and top it with Tarrago high tech nano spray??
I must have done something wrong. My daughters tap shoes held up well but did start wear. But I do love angelus paints
Heavy prep is necessary for long long term! We have people running around NFL no problem for loads of games. Just like the normal paint it will take a certain amount of wear. The paint isn't made of something crazy like diamonds and touch ups may be necessary after lots and lots of wear. Please email info@angelusshoepolish.com pictures so we can help out!
You need that super strength finisher for it to last other than that it's coming off 🤣🤣
Not if it is prepped right! We got people running laps no problem. Painted seats on planes in Dubai. Made to last!
@@AngelusBrand it probably depends on the fabric it's on as well because leather shoes it doesn't last long and I know exactly how to prep it.
@@imeanbiz7572 Hey Amin, made for leather and worn for months on end for a lot of people with no wear. Prep and thin layers are key. Please send us over pictures so we can help out Info@angelusshoepolish.com
This funny asf, more screaming was needed tho 🤣
Would the angelus leather dye still hold up better?
Angelus Dye will always hold up crazy because it soaks into the article and etches into it. You can not get the same color as our paints though. If you had a black shoe you can't dye it a lighter color really either. You would need to paint it.
What steps to drawing by this paint!???
Hi, I followed all of the steps to painting on leather and then placed a final coat of the Matte Acrylic Finisher... but it now made the leather handle sticky 😢 HELP!!! How to I get it unsticky? Thank You 😊
Sometimes this happens if the material is not a true leather, or the coats of paint were not fully cured under one another. The tackiness should go away after some time.
What about UV resistance?
That is cray cray 😁
Prep basically is Acetone befor you paint right am I correct ?
Acetone is a little stronger, and most sneakers are not that durable. We recommend the Leather Preparer. If you are prepping car seats, or furniture, then you would use an acetone since that type of leather is most likely a lot thicker.
I use this to my sole but when i wash it with water it got removed😢 any advice
Is this with a finisher? Is so what type?
We have a few types of Finishers, and also the new 4-Coat Finish. Please email us at info@angelusdirect.com so that we can better assist you with what you need!
I plan on customizing a varsity jacket that’s made of wool and leather sleeves. I was going to use the leather dye on the sleeves and I wanted to paint some portions of the wool as well. I’d like to use 2 soft on the wool portions so it maintains its softness. Particularly the collar and sleeve ribbing. Would this wash off in the washer? Do I use 2 soft or does that reduce the durability? I’m assuming the prep is the same for fabrics as is the sleeves? Any guidance appreciated!
Comment faire pour que la peinture résiste
What about vinegar or alcohol based things?
Alcohol is a solvent, it will take off paint. Especially if you rub it hard enough.
How you prepared to make that good
Watch a few of our videos! There are a few ways to prepare for best results.
I properly prepped painted and sealed some Jordan 1 and the seal and some paint it chipping and peeling from the edge of the midsole. Why is this happening. Just wore them 1 time
Unfortunately we never recommend painting the midsoles of the AJ1. The paint cannot adhere to rubber. :/
@@AngelusBrand not the midsole the leather right above where it meets the midsole
Lets gooooo! 🔥🙌
🏎 We about to make this a thing! Buckle up for some fun videos.
@@AngelusBrand love using your guys paint
How is it possible that the paint on the shoe cracks? Before the paint i clean the shoes with the cleaner from Angelus (deglazer). But after wearing it one time the paint on the shoes is totally destroyed.
Please help me out
Email us at info@angelusdirect.com we can offer you some other steps of preparation that really help.
@@AngelusBrand thank u so much i wilk send a mail
Best in the game
Very convincing demo. But, Jake, the microphone is under your chin; there is no need to shout!

Trash I’ve prepped, sanded and clean shit still doesn’t last
Please email us! Info@angelusshoepolish.com we will help you get where you need to be. Our paints are made to be worn but some parts are not meant to be painted.
@@AngelusBrand toe boxes. That is where cracking occurs usually
@@losinfinite Good chance for us to do a video on this. People who do not do heavy prep on a sneaker on the toe box will crack. We will add it to our list! If in doubt sand and then leather prep again.
