Air ride on an RC...What a time to be alive. It would be cool if you could squat the front suspension on climbs and make it up lines you couldn't before.
I haven't actually driven it yet but it is definitely a crazy and fun option!

OMG! Want so bad! Love the idea of lowering the truck a bit for a more stock appearance then a nice lift when air added. Right now the lifted mode looks a little too tall. Looking forward to next episodes.

If you are gonna make a street truck, lock only rear diff or don't remove diff servos at all. Then it's gonna make donats with out tipping over.
Not building a street truck, just something that looks more streetable in an off road format. Like a truck you’d see driving around but still gets wheeled.

Speaking of gimmicks, would you ever consider building a truck with remote lockable axles, with a 2 and 4 wheel drive shiftable transfer case? Love the super scale stuff. Yes they are fail areas where parts like to break but that adds to the realism.
Breaks are annoying and the little servos are always prone to it. The selectable lockers just aren’t worth it to me. Selectable t-case in that format is just not something I’d be after just because I usually just keep trying to do challenging lines and I’d always just be flipping into 4wd. That stuff just isn’t for me.

Air ride ? A full-size “store bought” rig ? Heck, I even saw you winching (again!!) out at the lake - by the way, the Willys looked great out there ! It’s nice to see you still having fun doing something unexpected. Keep it up :)
Just a suggestion from personal experience
I have a trx4 defender and with the defender body you use different shock towers so then you can buy aftermarket towers with a bunch of mounting positions and that would enable you to have different height adjustments and not have to fabricate them yourself

I run two 2000mah Venom 2s lipos in parallel in the front battery tray. That color is perfect 👌

I only run 3 or 4s so I’ll have to find a specific pack.

Cool project! Did you open the box? How much wasted space is there? Would there be any benefit to splitting up that big, chunky box into a couple of smaller boxes for greater placement flexibility?
Cool rig, but just a tip for the future; you should never touch those type of batteries with your fingers. The oils in your skin will either drastically shorten battery life, or kill the battery altogether. Use a butterknife or some clean tweezers/pliers.

The amount of air pressure determines the effective spring rate, this is common practice.

However long you hold the button is how long the compressor runs, so you could put it to any level.

Making a legit air suspension from scratch like this would probably end up costing you more just in trial and error parts ordering. 😁 definitely not something everyone needs but it’s a ton of fun.
