But cutting someone out of your life and saying they are dead to you at that point isn't healthy or good for anyone. Further, this is over a car payment that Wings agreed to sign on for. It was his responsibility to make sure that his brother was paying it.

His brother needs help to get his life back on track and jail or a rehab program is his best bet at staying alive. The truck situation will get worked out, but a dead brother is permanent.
Kennys got kids and a wife. beat his addiction and got stable. while on the other hand Wings has yet to beat his food addiction even with having the majority of his stomach removed via surgery.

I hate wings as much as you but let me tell you first hand that it’s hard dealing with a family member who’s got an addiction problem. I had to deal with two family members who were compulsive liars prior to their drug problem. It brought a lot of trouble, misery and mental pain. It’s hard to try and help an addict who doesn’t want the help.

@Matthew Burks the heroin here in the U.K. you need to use water and citric acid because if you don’t use citric acid it doesn’t dissolve properly. I know from experience I was addicted to heroin from 1989 to 1999.

@Matthew Burks basically every chemical and element can be liquid dude. It’s a state of matter the depends on temperature and pressure. Gold, silver, iron, oxygen,hydrogen, water basically anything can be a liquid if it hot/cold enough. Mixing heroin with water doesn’t make liquid heroin all it does is make a solution of heroin and water.

Against my better judgment I co-signed for my mom on a car several years ago, it's been paid off for a year or more and I'm still rebuilding my credit cause she fucked me over on it. I'll never cosign again especially for family.

My oldest brother was an alcoholic, deadbeat dad with an opioid habit. He was arrested for unpaid child support and sent 364 days in jail (this was part of a deal to avoid going to prison.) As rough as it was for him to be locked up, it did him wonders. 364 days of zero drugs and alcohol, he's been out for nearly two years and has kept himself clean the entire time and seems intent on staying that way. His opportunities in life are practically non existent, but he's a much better person than he was before this all happened. I learned that even though jail is a place to be avoided, it can genuinely straighten people out.

@N-Word Salesman The thing is, people supported wings with his Addiction to food. People financed a surgery to help with it. I don't see how wings could be so cold to a FAMILY MEMBER, who is also struggling with an addiction. And it's alot tougher to be a heroin addict, then a food addict. Wings should cut Kenny off financially, but saying he's "dead to him". That's just plain cold.

Kyle just gave out some great advice. Negotiating with the holders of your debt is *infinitely* better than ignoring them. More often than not you can negotiate with them if you're upfront. It's best to go in *before* the loan is in default but I understand it may not be possible in this situation.
