I've had severe depression, getting out of bed feels like jumping into an ice lake, eating breakfast feels like eating feces. And the intensity of these feelings can vary all over the place, you cannot plan anything because your perception of reality can change just like that. What in one second felt like a nice walk in the country, feels like a stroll down a never ending corridor, until I tried shrooms the experience is out of this world.

I guess I just want somewhere to share my story.
When I was 19 I took shrooms, and it was like I was turned inside out. As a child, I was very extroverted and loved being around people. And after the shrooms, I felt disconnected from everyone and everything around me. I just wanted to alone. I am learning to feel happiness from within myself, not running from myself. It's been a LONG and PAINFUL process but once it's healed, it's healed and beautiful.

Mushrooms helped me with crippling PTSD and related mental issues (drug use, anxiety, etc). It’s not a cure, but a tool to improve and find a way out of unimaginable darkness. Without it, I don’t know if I’d still be here. Thanks for taking the time to educate the public on this! Hopefully for my children and grandchildren’s generation, this will be easily available and widely used to heal mental trauma.

I just had my first experience with golden teachers, it was really great! I loved it.
They allowed me to finally grieve a lifelong friendship that came to an abrupt halt after being ghosted.
A month after being relieved of that burden, I stopped drinking alcohol. It wasn't that I didn't like drinking or was alcoholic, but the utter scam of numbing myself and accelerating time & not being present was revealed. It's been almost a year and I still have no interest.

@depnox good for you……I too was a demon for the drink…..calmed down so much over the passed years, part of me thinks drinking less as we get older is built into us, Hangovers now last 3 days, with deep, deep depression and fear and pain, since they got so bad it’s never been worth it, now I have 2 drinks, maybe 3 at most the odd time and that’s it, before when I started, I didn’t stop until I passed out.
As for your reasons behind it, being ghosted by friends is tough, I’m kind of on the other foot, I’ve probably unintentionally ghosted some of my friends over the years due to going off drinking and not knowing how I fit in with them without it, made me a bit of a loner in some regards, and I find it hard to be in others company for long periods of time, but I still love everyone I’ve shared parts of my life with immensely, that will never change. I’m glad you’ve found peace in yourself, if it’s any consolation, you probably didn’t do anything to have your friend ghost you, maybe they’ve just had a change as a person and struggle to carry on exactly as they where before. I've been 5 months sober from alcohol and these December holidays I worried how I was going to cope with being around people drinking all day. What's amazing (among other things) is how Psilocybe mushrooms can cure stuttering, as was the case with Paul. I heard of another case recently where a man with severe stuttering was 'cured' after one psilocybin session. One day he could barely speak, the next day he was no longer stuttering. This is why so many use the term 'miraculous' when describing the benefits of magical mushrooms.

I liked Stamets too, then after taking his Lions Mane product and later looking into it just being mycelium which is the roots, and the bulk of what your buying for $29.99 is brown rice. He's charging 30 bucks for 5 cents of rice. I started growing lions mane that's how it worked out I use some mycelium as there is some use then use a triple extraction on the fruit body which is what anybody wanting a true supplement would want Stamets is just out for the max profit.

When I was a kid , I used to take mushrooms with a psychopath. He loved them . He was always getting people to take them with him , and then f##king with them . A few people ended up with permanent mental damage, which ruined their lives.

Many years ago, I spent some time in a beach shack on Si Shi beach on the Olympic peninsula of Wa. State. While I was there, a fellow who was staying in one of the cabins that was also there, came by and gave me a Boletus mushroom and told me that it was a forest mushroom and was very good to eat. I do believe that that person was Paul Stamets, those many years ago... Time has changed many things and unfortunately the US Forest service went in and burned down those cabins and the shack, as they became very popular as a place to party. It was very isolated as it was down a seldom traveled road and then a 5 mile hike to get to the beach. There were very few people that visited the beach back then in the mid to late 70's. I spent time there only twice myself. Each of those times is worthy of a story to be told.

The analogy I've developed towards psychedelics relates to my love of maps and cartogtsphy. Psychedelics can give you a "temporary map and birds eye view of where you are in life and an overall greater picture. For instance if you're hiking in a new place, It's good to check the map as an interpretive reference to orientation, navigation etc. Although not all the information on a map is a complete picture, it still helps you to proceed with a better sense of navigation. Yet you also could'nt stare at a map the whole time while also trying to successfully navigate a new area. I think it's a pretty good analogy to the flood of sensory information you'd get from psychedelics, you try to make temporary sense of it, but you still need to filter out alot in order for day to day functions. Alot of Huxley's references in Doors are still quite relevant to our understanding (?)

The *in vitro* study cited (at around 30 minutes) shows remarkable results using non-flush niacin. But I’ve heard elsewhere that only niacin that induces flushing is effective in the stack. Which is correct?
Correction: There was no *vaso-dilation* involved in the study. So will niacin work in the stack whether it is flush or non-flush? I’d really appreciate a definitive answer.

Depends on where you live, but in the US they will not be available anytime soon via any sort of dispensary. And the programs being rolled out don't allow a simple purchase (and they will be expensive).
There are some "churches" selling them.. that's a thing. Oakland and San Fran have something like that.
However, you can grow them, which is fun, educational, frustrating, difficult, and then strangly easy once it clicks.
