Guys don't overthink it, a+/network+/security+ aren't hard at all. What's being proven 'challenging' is how recruiters these days aren't even doing their jobs, they don't engage, they don't answer your emails/questions, they lack empathy. Your challenge will be to have your application in front of the right person.

Exactly this! I had zero IT work experience when I got Sec+. Once I was able to network and get my resume in front of someone, I finally landed an IT job.

@@ajramirez77 I was also thinking, people can start as a CSR at a company with a large IT department, get your certs and you just make a move. Internal hiring will be much easier since everyone knows you already.

@nocapnobs7845 Sorry, I have to disagree about the exams being “easy”. No one has any idea what questions they will end up with on any of the tests. I was heavily involved with my studies, studying the Certmaster learning from CompTIA and while it’s true that the A+ wasn’t that difficult, but in terms of the Net+, that one was much more difficult when it came to the questions that I got.
At least 1/2 the questions I saw were reverse engineered in a way that made it really test to see if you understood the concepts.
I went through all the material of the Certmaster learning course AND repeatedly did all the Certmaster review module version which basically gives you difficult practice questions for each specific objective #.
In the learning version, I went through all the PBQs (sadly, none were close to the exam) and the labs were buggy and sometimes confusing with some errors in the instructions (sometimes time wasting).
However, I was doing pretty well on all the quizzes and I studied all the wrong answers just to make sure I understood everything the best I could. I kept at it until I could do all the quizzes getting 100% correct across all the 20 lessons. Then constantly doing the practice test itself until I was getting at least 90-95%. After that, I started doing the review modules version that also has a practice test which was more difficult. I kept at that one until I finally was able to consistently score a 90% or higher.
Finally, I took the Net+ exam.
Let me tell you, The questions I got were quite difficult, I honestly thought I was answering every question wrong, I almost started to lose confidence as I didn’t expect it to be as difficult as it was. I also didn’t even get to finish 1 of the 3 PBQs I had because one was so confusing and not thoroughly explained of “how to do” in any substitute material I had used in combination with Certmaster. By the time I figured out what I needed to do I was nearly out of time and couldn’t finish doing it. Amazingly, I still ended up scoring a 746 on that exam and passed. In all my studying, I never thought I could feel so underprepared for an exam. Many people told me their questions were similar difficulty to A+. The test I got was way harder than when I took both, the Core 1 and Core 2 of A+.
I don’t suggest for anyone to be telling people that these tests are easy because YOU may have gotten easier questions than others did. For Net+, over 50% of my questions were more difficult than any practice test resource I was able to find within and outside of the Certmaster training materials.
Moving forward, I am currently studying like crazy to make sure that I can pass Sec+ as I’ve so far been preparing for 3 months and planning to take the exam within two more weeks. Some people told me that Net+ was harder. Others have told me Sec+ was harder. We’ll see

Great study advice - most important and hardest for most is setting aside time away from social media and other distractions - I spend the time from 11pm to 2am for studying - good luck to everyone that is gearing up for the test 😊

Thank you for the suggestions. I used test exams to prepare for A+ and Network+ along with reading exam guides. I really didn't do labs as much. When I was getting approximately 95% on the practice exam I sat for the tests. I was still stressed but I passed with about an 88 to 89% on the A+ and Net+ exams. I personally do better on hands on that just theory and memorization.

Nice strategy - works best especially if you are starting all together new in Tech. Nice one from Mr. Paul. Will share this on my channel and students. 👍

Thank you for all that you do for us. Will you be uploading new courses for the Sec+ and CySA+ certs since the current exams are expiring?

WOW! 50% failure rate? The Security+ is advertised that this is an entry level exam/certification by both many individuals and CompTIA certification body. Even the US Government endorsement of the Security+ certification as a very basic entry level certification
