It's still so sad that Vi clearly never intended to leave Powder and needed to just work through her emotions and take a minute because of the amount of trauma she just experienced. She clearly still cared very much about Powder but that one moment of emotional impulse cause her and Powder's lives to completely fall apart. Crazy how one moment can change the lives of so many people forever.

I mean it's not just one moment l. Vi refused to accept jinx the entire series, vi kept "opening the wound" when it came to jinx's trauma. Refusing to let her heal, and only causing her more and more pain.
@@declaringpond2276I must disagree on the grounds of semantics. OP specifically mentioned Powder. Vi refusing to accept Jinx is not the same; the show has gone through great lengths to demonstrate that Powder and Jinx are different. That being said, if accepting someone means endorsing their every decision, no matter if it's right or wrong, then yes, Vi did not accept Jinx. However, I'd argue that the real person who prevented Jinx from healing was actually Silco. He loved Jinx as she was, but he sought to preserve that pain for how strong this supposedly made her and he didn't want her to heal. He ensured that Jinx can never reconcile with her past because if she did, that would make her "weak". This, more than Vi's clumsy handling of Jinx's mental health, is what actually caused her to be unable to respond to Vi with anything other than pain. Unconditional endorsement is not healthy love. A healthy love should make you a better person. Blind acceptance at best doesn't do anything and generally allows you to destroy yourself.

@@declaringpond2276 I'd argue Jinx has schizoaffective disorder, not schizophrenia. Extreme mania and depression can cause psychosis, and Jinx does not display any of the negative symptoms of schizophrenia, such as catatonia, flat effect, withdrawal. Her hallucinations are all based on mood, and her condition was triggered by extreme trauma, not something she was born with. As for Jinx and Powder being the same, the show goes out of its way to demonstrate that they aren't. Silco tries to convince Jinx to let Powder die, the ending has two chairs for her to sit in depending on who she's going to be in the future. There is no Jinx without Powder, certainly, however the show's narrative is explicit that Powder was not the same as Jinx. Furthermore, just as Jinx evolved when the girl that used to be Powder changed, Jinx as a young woman is also destined to change as she continues to live her life. The question is whether she should continue to indulge her self-destructive habits as Jinx, or if she should try to orient her future growth in the direction of Powder's morality. Vi's methods were clearly not effective, but she wasn't wrong to persuade her sister to aim for the latter. By indulging her flaws, Jinx will ultimately destroy herself and everything she cares about. Only by correcting her flaws can she ever hope to change her fortunes. Silco said some sweet words, and they were the only appropriate words he can say at the time of his death, but he did not do his daughter any favors by keeping her on her current path. That is part of what makes him such a compelling character; he was a loving father, but not a good one, mainly because he was not a good man. One might say he was, on the whole, a bad man, but with good parts, among which was the love for his daughter, but he did not steer Jinx in a way that would allow her to prosper.
"Don't cry, you're perfect" being his last line, how could he be a villain? His heart was just like powders. Good, but damaged, but never broken.

Well, the thing is, there's no such thing as a villain and a hero in this series, everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, noone is perfect and they're just fighting for their own interests, that's what makes this series so good.
Vi just wanted a minute to breath. To collect her thoughts so she wouldn't harm Powder too much. Instead, she got a whole life apart from her.
And the Council put their pride aside knowing full well war would cost too much. But the harm they already caused caught up to them too soon.
Sometimes it is too little to late to do something.

I agree. Of course she wanted to be back for Powder, she loves Powder to the moon and back. She never left her on purpose.
But Powder though so.
She felt guilty for a long time, she was a child when all this happened. She doesn't have a chance to heal.
Powder's mental health is now a disaster, she needs therapy and her sister. She clearly has borderline, and she needs medicines to feel better.
But there's no therapy in their world :(

I love Powder, she maybe had some hereditary illness even though Vi tried to make her into what she needed her to be. I just.. I like powder because the little baby just needed someone. I’m not one to choose sides when it comes to someone who’s more rounded and sound of mind. I know vi had her own issues. But Powder is still in the state of a child. So it makes my instincts choose her.

This edit made me realize the parallel between Powder "attacking" Silco when she leaps at him and Jinx when she kills him. Both times, she's fueled by adrenaline, anger, confusion, and attachment anxiety

I wonder if Schizophrenia is genetically triggered by trauma/stress. Cus Jinx’ portrayal in the show could be misinterpreted as all Schizoid people as dangerous which could be potentially damaging
@@Hamless_Kiwi what's worse is, this isn't the daily life of a schizo in my experience others may vary of course but the point is jinx/powder was never given the chance to rest without some god damn idiot bringing back up her trauma whether it be from vi or silco she was someone on a fine line playing tug of war with her own mental will, which sadly led to death, war and madness.
This show isn't about who's bad and good, it's a perspective of each characters moral compass and alot of misunderstanding

No one talks about how much pressure Vander put on Vi. As an older sister, when Vander told Vi "Whatever happens, that's on you," I flinched. I've heard that before, and have felt the shame that comes with it when things go terrible wrong. I admire Vi for only lashing out on Powder once, because it's hard to keep cool when you feel like your worth is reliant on someone else's actions.
What he said was unfortunately true. People with influence over others have a bigger responsibility. Just like how he had to look after the people of the Lanes. It was Vi's responsibility to look after Powder and her friends. It comes with being a leader.

that wasn't a throw away line, nothing in this show is wasted. every line of dialogue serves. that's because it IS all on her. vi started a chain of events that are leading to the development of weapons of mass destruction and global war, not to mention destroying her whole family in the process. shes so caught up in her past that she cant see the full implications that affect the future. she's a very flawed character.
I agree with you but if you watch the music video to "enemy" and think about how Powder reacted to the slap. That was not the first time she lashed out. Completly understandable, she was also a child.

I hated how Silco was so good at manipulating, but whenever he talked to Jinx... "It's okay... We will show them." "Don't cry. You're perfect." Sounded so comforting and the tone of the voice changes as well. Props to the voice actors, they were phenomenal!
That's because he genuinely loved Jinx as his daughter. "What is so undoing as a daughter. " He clearly sees her as his own and was willing to give up the nation of Zaun if it meant Jinx stays with him.

Jinx is an amazing character. It’s the most tragic character ever created and created so beautifully. Jinx shot Silco because of her chaotic state of mind, and killed the person she cared for the most and the person that cared for her the most. Yet that person was the big antagonist of the story, the villain. Also, Silco may have actually been keeping Powder alive because she had someone that loved her for who she was.

Silco was not the big antagonist of the story. He was the antagonist of the 1st 3 episodes. The big antagonist of the story is heimdinger, the one who literally set all of this up.
the entire soundtrack for this show was fantastic, but they truly outdid themselves with this final song. the emotion and heaviness in the final scene, as you’re truly forced to wonder what could have been. knowing that Jinx is starting something bigger than her or Silco on her own, the realization on Caitlyn and Vi’s face as they both are about to lose someone they love, the fact that Zaun may never know that they had been freed seconds before disaster. this war was preventable, that’s what made it hurt the most.
Beginning the crescendo of "Why don't you love who I am?" as Silco is stabbing Vander is absolute, certifiable brilliance.

When I first showed the last episode to my dad, he later said that what Silco said at the end was the best thing to say. All he did was confirm that _she_ was perfect, not Jinx, not Powder, just her. He even said it made him slightly emotional, which was something I rarely hear.
The entire ending, the buildup, the fight, the scene of her walking alone, was perfect.
I did a similar edit just because this song fits perfectly with Jinx and Silco. Its such an emotional song and describes their pain so well. Great Edit and keep up the good work.

I think Vi was the nail in the coffin, the one that made the rope snap and unable to stay together. Since Vi was some sort of stability for Jinx her "betrayal" made her unable to function properly.

The downfall of the west was inevitable, but we didn't choose when and where, it was thrust upon us and we do it with grace and love that few before us ever could.

The lighting of the flare, that was not Jinx who lit it, it was Powder. When Vi showed up the hug was Powder, until Caitlyn showed up. Powder is still there, Jinx is a facade it's evident, no doubt she's mentally scarred but Powder is still there.
To be an Arcane fan and hope for season 2, but dread how much they are going to hurt you more, and yet want it.

You know Jinx and Vi, have both been through so much trauma, all I would literally want to do is hug them both, and wish that it all would be erased. I know that it would defeat the purpose of the show and it it is an awesome show but I would just want to hug them both.
In the end, no, he wasn't a villain. He did everything to see equality brought to his people. He built an empire on blood an bones so that those in the future wouldn't have too, but in the end, when he had everything, he gave it up for what he really wanted most, The girl he fell in love with and ment more to him than his goals and his life, his daughter.
Scilco was never a truly bad person just like jinx he wanted to be loved. When he found jinx he was there to finish her but instead saw himself and couldn't bring himself to kill her instead he treated her like his own daughter and tried to help her build a shelf for herself from the world and live a new life as jinx. When he said "don't cry you're perfect." He was telling her that jinx is who she is and that jinx had no flaws.
How crazy is it that I had the deepest emotions overflowing my head when Silco said that and up until the end. For an antagonist for the majority of the show, It turned a clear 180 for me when he said that.

It’s such an indescribable feeling when you truly recognize the fact that Jinx killed the council literally the same moment they were signing a treaty for peace 😭. I loved Jayce and Viktors story arcs but I’m still excited for what Season 2 will do with the characters left. For the better, or for the worst.

I love that the show portrays how the environment and actions of others can influence a person's journey to becoming who they are, yet also show that their actions still count. Powder could have become someone different if Silco hadn't done the things that he did, or if he hadn't taken her in. But she also could have chosen differently too. In the end, it's a mixture of both that created who she is by the end.

I wish somewhere in KDA universe, Jinx is living a normal life and happily with Silco. Or maybe in Odyssey, Silco is living a peaceful life and Jinx just happened to love travelling.

Ugh, this show is so gut wrenching. I love it so much! And this edit was made so well! The fact it got me teary eyed wasn’t just the show used. But also the wonderful editing skills used.
That last scene when the rocket shatter the glass and it's face shows up on it... Man gives me goosebumps 🥶
I don't know why exactly, but, Silco is kind of my favorite character.
He has all the things a good character needs.
And the end is just... It's the most touching scene in the whole series for me.

This show is a masterclass in character development and story. Just a masterpiece. Even the main villain you want to just hug at the end. How did they manage to create such an amazing world in just a few short episodes, truly a masterpiece

If Jinx knew Vi was alive she would've done everything she could to find Vi. Moreover if Vi would not have left her there things would've been completely different.
so many different endings that could've been, it is one mistake after another in this show and none of the mistakes are truly anyone's fault.

I know this came out in November, but I just discovered it a few days ago, and I can't stop thinking about it since.
Some edits focus solely on the music. Some play lines from the show over the music, which creates dissonance and discord. Some let certain scenes play too long, or not long enough. But this... This is perfection in editing. Everything is timed perfectly. The scene choices perfectly complement the song's lyrics. And it evokes such emotion, not only from the characters in the show, but how you compile everything. It's somehow simultaneously perfectly constructed, and yet still so... raw!
I just can't say enough good things about the job you've done here! Can't wait to see what else you do!

Watching this made me watch the show... Damn. Best thing I've seen since Breaking Bad. And this is the best edited soundtrack I've come across. Permanent spot in my playlist. One thing that annoys me about people's claim that "Vi didn't accept Jinx" is that Vi's last contact with her sister was when they were both children - before Vi got dragged away to prison and GREW up there, completely cut off from everything and everyone.
Of course she didn't "accept" Jinx - she, as a child, grew up in a stone box. How do you expect her to just immediately understand and process what Jinx has been through? Vi grew up blaming herself for abandoning Powder, knows nothing about Silco except for the fact that he's a stone cold murderer who killed their father, or about Silco and Jinx's relationship.

It's like those fanfiction where a character has moved on from a deceased loved one only to realise they're alive again - how do you expect them to immediately process that?
Silco, is honestly one of the best *Antagonists* on Netflix. He's not a Villian. He's just like everyone else, but a bloody good antagonist.
