The Shang Chi Marvel Legends wave is a nice change. Gets announced, gets distributed, gets shipped, gets in the display, not a lot of wait at all. And hasbro did a fantastic job with Wenwu, Xialing, Death Dealer and the Target exclusive Katy. For comic characters, Iron Man, Civil Warrior, and Mr. Hyde aren't too shabby, but a lot of reuse and don't fit the theme. Either way, toys are toys!

While looking at a movie still I noticed the pattern on Shang-Chi’s costume is actually meant to look like dragon scales and the staff has dragon scales on both ends of it.

I’m half Chinese and I say it “Shang-Chi” , I think it’s just the American accents that make it sound like “Shung-Chi” . Not saying how I pronounce it is the correct way. Just thought I’d share how I say it😄

I recently got two of the marvel Legends series I got the comic book version of wolverine and the comic book version of cyclops and then a little while back I also got venom from the newest movie

The Mr. Hyde BAF is hat-to-shoe the same design he has in Contest of Champions, but the outfit's from his appearance in Thunderbolts in 2011
Now that they've given us the comic yellow and red iron man, I wonder if they will give us that cherry red and chrome gold iron man that they originally showed at toy fair when they unveiled the 80th anniversary line.
Itll probably be a target exclusive if they do 😂

As soon as you got Shang Chi out of the box I instantly got the vibe that his outfit looks like a Power Ranger pre-morphin’.

Civil Warrior is probably my favorite of the entire wave. Been waiting for that figure since we got the Hydra version.

I somehow missed it during the 80th Anniversary Iron Man review, so after I watched this last night I turned around the legs on my 80th and my Arno Stark and spent five minutes going "well CRAP no wonder it was such a pain to get them to stand up".
Yeah, it throws the balance off slightly when turned backwards. I guess I need to open my Arno at some point....
This was such a sneaky drop. I was glad to find it in stores as well.

If ever there was a time for Hasbro to implement cloth goods and step up their game, *THIS* was it. All of these figures were practically *SCREAMING* "Give me CLOTH dammit!" Missed opportunity, Hasbro. Total missed opportunity.
I agree, I like cloth goods so very much but, I dont think they could get such a complicated design on a few of them using cloth

We'd have to pay a lot more for those figures so Hasbro would make a profit, and at that point why not just spend a little extra and get an import? It's why I don't ever expect cloth goods on Marvel Legends.

I’m debating on getting Wenwu as he looks great but the limited articulation makes me a little apprehensive, although Shang-Chi is a must get
I’d love to pick up the Shang Chi figure, but I’ll wait until they release another one with another head sculpt. The body’s amazing but the face just makes him look bored. Like this is a resting Shang chi but really doesn’t work for fighting scene pics

After re watching Ironman I’m just like damn so the mandarin was gonna kill Tony from the beginning but probably was informed he’s the key to the universes survival and keeping him alive to build his suit was the ten rings entire purpose not making that one missile

I found this wave at Walmart the other day, and snagged them all. That Shang-Chi trailer hyped me up for the figures. My favorite two from the wave are Civil Warrior and the BAF, but for the MCU figures I gotta go with Death Dealer.
I wanted the Katy figure so bad.
Wenwu head is gonna be going on a Storm Shadow, calling it.

I saw someone theorize that the reason the 10 rings are so big in the mcu is because they're the rings of fin fang foom and I like that theory a lot

well it's actually because they didn't want all-powerful jewellery after we just had the infinity stones, plus it's like those iron bands around arm weapons that chinese warriors have actually had in the past

I've seen like 4 reviews of the AI Iron Man and no one make a size comparison to the Onslaught Wave Captain America 😔
That Cap is the same body as the 80 Years Cap everyone is comparing him with. He just has a chest overlay and new deltoids to account for the scale mail.
Is not 100% the same body, the 80th Cap use the Spider UK legs and the chest and shoulders make him a litte bit taller
I'm only interested in the Iron Man with the holographic Tony Stark head. I'm a big Iron Man fan and the figure looks amazing.
The Shang Chi figures don't look particularly interesting enough. I think I'm gonna pass on them.

Saw online where some people were putting the Sugar Man arms on Hyde, after seeing pix I am definitely digging that look vs fully suited.

The English "A" sound like in "at" isn't a sound in Chinese, so Sh(ah)ng-Chi is technically closer.
So it is pronounced like “Aang” is supposed to be.

Great review Robo! The designs of the Shang-Chi movie costumes are cool. I agree the waist on Shang-Chi would look so much better without that cut. And no fists is an odd choice. I will say though that seeing them all together at the end, they all look so bored, lol. An alternate angry or fighting head would look good for all of them.

13:41 I believe those are called tiger hook swords. I think those swords are normally dual wielded so I was hoping we'd get two. But I could be wrong
You are correct on both counts. Hook swords are indeed normally used in pairs.

Hi! American but half Chinese and been speaking Chinese my whole life. In Chinese, it's SH-AH-NG. Like how Feige pronounces it. His name means "Rising Spirit" (roughly) and the Shang part means "up" or "on".
If you go to Google Translate and translate English to Chinese, type in "On" in the english section and then play the Chinese aloud, you'll basically hear it sounds like how Feige pronounces it, like Sh-aw-ng. And that is the actual same character or word as the Shang in Shang Chi.
The hard Shaaang is an Americanization.
Hope that puts all of that to bed!
update: Xia Ling is close! The "Xia" is pronounced Sh-Yah

Since the movie will be released here in the US it’s going to be pronounced shayng because that’s how we were taught to enunciate that spelling. If it said “shong” we’d pronounce it differently. Just like I wouldn’t correct a non English speakers pronunciation of an English word, I doubt it matters.

This is just a note. The way you can put on the shield without snapping the pegs, just slide it on from the side of the wrist and then turn the shield to the top of the forearm
