One of the first racing games I played on the PS2. I remember having a lot of trouble as an elementary school kid with passing the very first driving test and also later, getting to grips with the tricky handling of the 2.0L 4WD cars. I still replay it on occasion, mainly due to its awesome career mode.
I remember playing this game on my pc 15 or 16 years ago , I loved the career mode one of the best in rally games history , I was a kid
That song made me feel so nostalgic
that's why I came back to this...
For real. First time I heard this in the menu I just stopped and listened.
V-Rally 3, really loved the career mode. A very fun rally sim to boot, despite the sensitive controls & physics.
Cars are based on the 2000 - 2002 WRC & JWRC.
It's probably the only rally game that has these cars:
1.) Peugeot 206 WRC in year 2000 WRC all-gray paint scheme. Marcus Gronholm (FINLAND) car number 10. My personal favorite.
The CLARION hood decal would later be replaced with ESSO decal in the later year 2000 WRC BTW.
The rest of the rally games that feature the Peugeot 206 WRC would often use the 2001-2002 Paint Scheme: All-gray with the addition of TOTAL flame pattern in the hood.
2.) SEAT Cordoba WRC with 2001 paint schemes. SEAT Sport only makes very brief appearances in 2001 WRC, didn't go full season. Pulled out after year 2000 WRC, and we're not registered for WRC points. Would have been great to add that in Evolution Studios' WRC 2001 PS2 game for more variety. Driven by Salvador Canellas Jr. (TELEFONICA), and Marc Blasquez (REPSOL).
CMR2.0 has the year 2000 WRC factory works paint scheme. Both rally games are a rarity to have them.
In real life, Peugeot 206 WRC 2002 has decals that sponsored this game in front bumper
Actually the clarion sponsorship in the front of the Peugeot is for the no3 car driven in tarmac events by Gilles Panizzi and later in the year Marcus Gronholm.

Also if you want to make this game a "Sim", or atleast improve the handling you can do this. Start a new career and use the name REAL WHEEL. The cars have a more Sim like handling
That Subaru with SRT USA livery was driven by Jonas Andromeda.
Fun trick : You can also press 'circle' to change variations like rims, headlights and etc.

I had the demo disc version of this game, for the PC. And remember that the Focus RS had a different colour from the white. Used to be blue. Nostalgia of a game. Wish I could go back to playing this hidden gem.

Ahh,Iconic Rally Car from 2000s
Also,There are 2 Impreza (GC & GD),2 Lancer, 2 Corolla (with V-Rally Ver.) and 2 Seat.
I spent hours and hours on V Rally 3 and I performed 7 carrer season with Polo 1.6, but V rally 4 is unplayable, because of it's guide system.

V-Rally 2 had better bonus cars than 3.
the car model doesn't really accurate so it looks like a funny rally car with incorrect proportions
