    Hey guys, one thing I forgot to mention! You can charge your devices while the jackery is charging itself. I believe it’s called “pass through” charging. Just to note 📝

      Can you STILL USE YOUR DEVICES while it is charging itself? I know on some Jackery models you can, didn't if you can or not on the little model. I really like that size, super convenient!

    Before you purchase any portable power station, make sure you have access to the fuse panel.
    If not, you'll be stuck sending it in for service. That's if its still under warranty.
    Not many reviews mention this... #RightToRepair

    I researched for a very long time before settling for the Jackery 240e. Loved it but needed more power. I will say my regret is it doesn't fast charge mobiles. Also that I didn't get the 500. While it has it's pros there are cons. I would not say choose this model.
    I purchased along side it 6 months later a Vtoman 600 as needed more power at low cost. Yes it's no Jackery but lasted a 6 day trip without issue and still had 60% power left at the end of my trip.
    The Jackery where I didn’t use it for anything but light on the same trip had 30% power left.
    The brand is what you are paying for with the Jackery but they are pricey. Although now they have gone down i.e older models in cost.
    I would say yes its compact, light and small but you will need more power at some stage. Solo female Car camper. 🇬🇧

    We camp a lot and have been considering a portable power station. Using a fan all night is one thing we would use it for so I appreciate the information that it will run a mini fan all night. Your mini rice cooker is interesting, too. We use a lunch box stove by RoadPro to heat/cook a lot of our meals. It runs off DC so since you are driving so much anyway it might be a good option for you. We cook in foil loaf pans from Dollar Tree so we don't have to do dishes. Thanks for the Jackery information, that size looks like a perfect option for us since we don't have lots of space.

    I bought mine out of curiosity. And it has become a staple on my service truck and for my A/V production efforts. It has worked well for me for about three years now. They are good for small equipment or high efficiency equipment. As far as charging I usually charge after work hours off the service van power.

We lose power, pretty regularly, and my sleep apnea is severe enough that I don’tsleep without the CPAP. The Jackery 500 powers my CPAP for three full nights sleep. The problem with any battery, no matter how good quality it is, is that it has a limited number of possible charges and discharges and, over time, you notice that its performance degrades more and more until it is useless... It is a technology limitation problem...

    • @jax2442
      @jax2442 Před 4 měsíci +2

      Yeah, but if it lasts a few years like it has for him with everyday use, for $179, that's really not that bad imo. And for most people that camp every so often they can have this last for much longer. But you are correct, battery efficiency does degrade over time, a primary reason people upgrade phones so often.

    I have this exact Jackery for my home for when the electricity goes out I have this as a back up. I like it a lot. But if I were living in my vehicle I'd want a much larger one and I'd get the solar panels. I like old school too, the simper the better as far as I'm concerned. It does take a while to charge, even in the wall in my opinion. But I'm wondering, charging off your battery doesn't that kill your battery pretty quickly? I was lucky got my Jackery on sale for much less. Great timing for me.

    Dude. The Anker C1000 can charge in less than one hour, puts out like five times the power and has four times the capacity. Being able to fully charge it in under an hour is so huge. At the gym for 30 minutes?! That’s almost a full charge. It constantly goes for sale to under 700 dollars. Pricey, but worth it.

    • @MsRotorwings

  • @jayzillawashere
    @jayzillawashere Před 4 měsíci

    I got the 1500 and have used it in my house once last year when the power went out. That size can keep your fridge/freezer running for a day. If I use it on the road I could run a microwave or single burner electric range for 1hr. Otherwise it'll charge my phone and laptop and gopro etc for a week without recharge when I'm on the road. I prefer not to drain the car battery as much as possible so I will charge from the jackery instead of the car itself when the engine is off. I still need to get a super quiet fan for summer

    • @jayzillawashere
      @jayzillawashere Před 4 měsíci

      Also make sure you wait til they go on sale. They always have some promo going on so make sure you wait til it's like 30%+ off. I personally skipped the solar panels because I know I can recharge from an outlet before I go on my next trip. Solar panels could be a better option with a smaller power bank if you're in a sunny location and don't have access to a wall outlet. I think it's ~4 hours to full charge from the wall and using your car outlet or solar panels are increasingly slower charging. And ultimately as a battery these things will lose chemical potential over time and hold less charge and require to be charged more often

    Jackery's are ok in a pinch, but old tech. Ditch the Jackery and buy a Bluetti EB3A, *safer* battery technology and charges in 1.5 hrs. Will charge to 100% for 10 yrs. Jackery only has 500 lifecycles on the battery. One of the best features is the charging brick is built in, not an extra you need to lug around. MUCH better display and has an app to control it with. Get solar...BourgeRV is a great/affordable brand -you will never regret getting solar. For your light, get a Sinvitron Camping Lantern, it can run 150 hrs on low (plenty of light to read by) and charge your phone if need be, only $25.
