    Question about the showers. I will be arriving around 6a.m. and continuing to Bangkok. I also would like to take a shower between flights. What did you have to do to take the shower.

    • @LosGatosNYC
      @LosGatosNYC  Před 5 lety +3

      Hi Luis! The ability to shower depends mainly on how much time you have during your transfer. If you have more than 2 hours in between legs with the same carrier, you should be able to pull it off. What we did in the video was try to get into a free shower, which is possible, but required the purchase of an amenity kit that cost almost $20. In hindsight, it's best to go through transfer security and head straight for the lounges in terminal 1. If you don't have a lounge access membership (like through Priority Pass) you can buy a lounge visit with LoungeBuddy ($40). This includes a shower, the kit, and also food and beverages. Lounges open at 6 am so you should be square.

      @@LosGatosNYC Oh. At 4:23 - 4:39 the flight tracker route appeared to fly off the north of Canada and over Victoria Island and over the sea north of Alaska to northeastern Siberia. Did the flight route end up being south of where it was showing it'd be on the screen there?
      Oh sorry, lol, I missed you saying it was nighttime when you were up in that area. I added this paragraph after posting first one (which is why it says (edited))

I am flying to Japan by way of EVA Air in just a couple of weeks, and it’s my first flight so I’m trying to do as much research as possible. every video about EVA air I’ve come across has flew from LAX, so I was very glad to to have found this video. I was even happier after watching it and seeing how thorough you are in this video!!!!! this is a great video for a first time flyer!

    EVA air's flights uses terminal 2 only, in other words, no need to change terminal when connect. In that evening, it should be some reason that they cannot help but use different terminal. It is rare to hear this situation. But I agreed that TPE airport was not well organized for transit passengers.

    Its above average in my opinion. I still believe that American had far greater service in all the classes. I fly to narita about once a month and I have to say that I would much rather fly ANA and or Japan airline due to the amount of luxury and satisfaction the staff gives you. I also hate the flights being packed so having a nice app to grab the loads of the flights a week or two before hand works nicely to your advantage because a whole or an empty middle seat is a whole different experience in economy or economy plus

    • @LosGatosNYC
      @LosGatosNYC  Před 5 lety +2

      ANA is a good carrier but I try to stay from an American carrier unless there is a codeshare. We were hoping for a middle seat and got it on the way back.

      I will be taking this flight tomorrow 30 May (JFK), never been to Taipei international, is it difficult to make your way to the connecting terminal to Bangkok, is there somebody that can help direct you along the way? What do you think will it take 30 minutes to make the change, with out knowing the airport layout, do you onow if checked luggage is book through to Bangkok, i will also have backpack and carry on, with me.

    • @LosGatosNYC
      @LosGatosNYC  Před 5 lety

      From what I've seen, our experience was not common. As long as you are transiting through with the same airline, your luggage will automatically transfer without a problem. When you deplane, you should be on the lookout for signs for your connecting flight. If you're flight is scheduled to depart soon, there is extra emphasis on it. Follow the signs until you get to the transfer desk and security. Your carry-on should not be a problem. Going through transfer security is like going through TSA light and is not bad at all. 30 minutes is pretty tight but is doable.
