This is an outstanding video Kat, it should be compulsory viewing for every Motorhome and Caravan user. Not just because of the fire safety advice, but also as an introduction to this alternative fire safety product. You asked all the right questions and delivered it in your usual confident and balanced style. 👏👏👏👏

Thank you so much for this video. I'm nearly 80yrs old and had no idea that the 7 year old fire extinguisher in my motorhome needed any attention or might not work!! I shall put some money aside each month to eventually get a fire stick, they are expensive but compared to motorhome damage and lives well worth it. When I have it I will feel safe again. Thank you again.

What I learned and was impressed most about: I didn't know the powder ones eat the wiring over time!! aaahh, yet the Firestick doesn't doesn't leave a mess and that's impressive. Definitely would like one of these and never need to use it!

We bought 3 fire safety sticks when the powder extinguisher expired - 1 for the MH, 1 for garage and 1 for kitchen. It is surprising how little known these devices are even by the fire safety training companies.

Thanks Kat once again for some really valuable, life saving information. I’ve had my motorhome for 3 years & it came with a fire extinguisher & blanket, which I thought at the time I’m sorted if I have a van fire. I’ve now realised with horror watching this video, that the chances are they are useless. What a brilliant, amazing, life saving easy to use item the fire safety stick is, everyone MUST have one, I’m certainly going to get at least one, they are a tad expensive to buy but when you think it could save your life & your van it’s well worth it. I think you should keep the fire stick yourself, you definitely need one as you spend so much more time in it than the rest of us. Thanks again for the very important information.

Great informative video. I really like that the fire safety stick is so small and will be easy to store. I was shocked that the standard fire extinguishers are affected by being in a moving vehicle and possibly would not work as expected in an emergency. Thanks Kat.

I have been in the unfortunate position of needing to use powder extinguishers 4 time. 3 of those times they simply didn't work. The fourth time I bashed the extinguisher about a bit and got some of the contents to work. I hate them and don't trust them. And when they do work they are very, very, messy. Someone let one go in a bar I used to work in and we had close for a day just to clean up the mess.
Firesaftystick is a brilliant solution in every way. Here in South Africa, they have been available for a long time and are very popular with the 4x4/safari community. CO2 and other 'gas' extinguishers work well and I have used them in my garage but they are harder for ordinary folk to get serviced and refilled.

WOW, that video was well worth watching. It’s brilliant to see how to discharge and use a fire stick too. I had no idea that the discharge time on a conventional small extinguisher was only 7 seconds, not long to think, and point in the right direction in what will be a fraught stressful situation if you’re fighting a fire. I would absolutely love to win one.

In addition to all the plus points mentioned the best part of the Fire Stick is that it's small and lightweight; a very important consideration when your short of space, particularly for things that you do not use (or want to use) in a motorhome. I was outside when a very sharp bread knife came flying out with a burning paper bag on it. There’s now a slice cut in our mat, where the knife landed ! As you said, this was absolutely fascinating understanding how good these are. Even my wife was happy to watch and she has the attention span of a nat đŸ€Ł My favourite thing about it is just how much it's like striking a match which we've all done in our pyromaniac phase đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„

Will be going to see these guys at the NEC to get one for our van. Hopefully we will bump into you as well.

Looks great. Weight coupled with effectiveness and range of fires it covers make it a very strong contender to replace the traditional extinguisher, when space & weight are a premium in a van.

Interesting watch, shocked about the extinguisher only lasting 10 seconds and didn’t know about getting it serviced!!! Fire stick definitely the way to go
. Thanks for the emails or I wouldn’t have known x

Great video. Ideal for a motor home, light with no service requirements, and 15-year life. Would definitely have a few given the light weight. Provably the larger ones, and if the worst happened, use one, and if still an issue, use the second and leave in the van and close the doors.

That's a great bit of kit. I can't believe the non-toxic nature of the extinguisher. I used some BCF type extinguishers back in the day and they were bloody awful for you. Technology marches on. 😀

Great review, going to get one or two of these for our new van.
Have experience of being responsible for fire extinguishers in a marine environment and dry powder extinguishes compacting and aware of the risk of it not working properly, unless inspected and serviced regularly.

I’m really impressed with the fire stick. I was aware that conventional extinguishers should be serviced but have never known how to get this done. I didn’t know that the powder clumps. The fire stick guys gave a fair account of how and when to use both types and I was convinced that I should get one. I do hope to win as the fire stick is expensive to buy, but if I don’t win I will have to save the pennies to buy it!

    Hi Kat,
Saw these guys at the NEC show last year - everything thay said made senese, so I ended up getting x8 of the 100 second sticks to put in the house, MoHo and car, and to give to family.
Like you, I'm looking forward to never needing to use one...
    Cheers,
    Rich.

Thank you for sharing this Kat, I have ordered one ,thanks again for your discount code, as makes more sense than ever. like you say I never plan on using it ever!, however my dad was a fireman so I always heard it was only in a few seconds that you have, and so its always better to have a solution when every second counts. I was not aware they only lasted 7 seconds, so feel the fire stick is simple, easy and a no brainer really.

Excellent video! A quick google shows these are the recommended ones for use in rally cars as well now which speaks volumes as to their quality and effectiveness vs std extinguishers. I also would struggle to be bothered having a traditional one serviced every year, as well as the increased challenges they face in motorhomes due to vibration and temp variances. Well done!!
