My makes in the last two weeks, two Yoyo Skirts, a Be Mine Balloon Sleeve Blouse and a few aprons.

- Hello everyone and thank you for joining me today, I have had a few makes in the past two weeks, the first is the Yoyo skirt by Style Arc in a beautiful Ponte from the Dahlia Sewciety and a stretch velvet from Spotlight.

Next I made the be Mine Balloon Sleeve by pattern Emporium in a gorgeous viscose from the Dahlia Sewciety.

I also made two Bluey aprons and I buy this fabric from the curtain department at Spotlight as it is much cheaper because the fabric is so wide, and an apron for myself in a drill .

Love the Yoyo skirts- I made a skirt just like them from a Simplicity pattern last winter. So comfy and warm for the winter. Fantastic tip for the hem facing on the Balloon sleeve blouse- when I get those type of problems I always think it is my poor sewing skills 😮. You have made me feel better. Really fancy the Jude jeans - looking forward to seeing yours made up. Lovely trip down Memory Lane with the flared jeans and platforms- both of which are everywhere right now in the shops 😂😂😂😂. Thanks Lynne, the skirts are great , warm and comfortable. I often use the narrow iron in interfacing tape for fabric that will not behave, makes it much easier. The Jude jeans are coming together well be interesting to see how they look as I don’t own any platform shoes anymore 🤣🤣. Have a great sewing week , Deb 🪡🧵💕

Also, where do you get Maraflex? Is it mostly online as no one near me has it.
Hi Brigitte, I can only buy maraflex online too, I have never seen a stand that I can choose the colour so I usually buy from The Dahlia Sewciety or from Maaidesign as they will match it for me. Deb 🪡🧵💕
Gorgeous makes as usual Deb. I also had some challenges with the be mine balloon due to a viscose fabric choice and will be changing to a different neck next time. Good luck with the house hunt!

Hi Deb, sounds like you certainty have been busy. Love your Be mine Balloon Sleeve top, it hangs beautifully in that fabric. The 2 skitrs are giing to be great for winter and what an easy pattern. I'm looking forward to seeing your Jude jeans, im like you, havent seen many pictures of them around but certainly the style is rght on trend with the flares and the patch pockets. Im like you, remember the flares of the 70s with the platform shoes. Amazing times! Happy sewing ❤❤

Lol i used to come to Melbourne to buy my staggers. I had a pair that where overalls but you could zip the bib piece off and wear them as jeans.
Wow Lois I remember those overalls, I had the traditional Staggers and then I I had overalls that had exposed a zippers on each side, I think they were Just Jeans brand, they will probably come back in soon 🤣, hope you get time to sew this week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

I’m still working on my upcycle denim jacket. Hope I get it finished in time. Then I’ll have to work out how to post on instagram.

I like the yoyo skirt. I have a similar pattern. I would like to make on in a stretch denim but canmot find any material.
Hi Lois, the best stretch denim I have found this year is from Weft and Warp, it has a good amount of stretch. Spotlight have not had much in the way of stretch denim this year which is unfortunate, and Super Cheap stretch had very little stretch. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

Hi Encarnita, I bought the purple cord from Spotlight a few years ago, but they still have it, it’s only 112cm wide so make sure you work out how much you need and it has a nap, so that requires extra also. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕

Deb, what weight do you buy in stretch denium?
Hi Libby, the last denim I bought was 11.75 oz stretch denim, and the red was the 13 oz stretch denim, so quite a decent weight. The love the fabric of the blouse the colour is beautiful, have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕
