  • The Jews of the Lower East Side hated Nicholas II of Russia so much that as World War I began they sided with Germans and Austrians. When Turkey signed up with that side (the Ottoman German alliance) this strange song was born. To the tune of "Di yidishe troyke" tune by Shimon Frug and words (to the original and also to this parody) by Morris Rund. See yiddishpennysongs.com for more.
