Especially on shorter routes where boarding means walking to the train. The longer the distance, the less the whole boarding, check in, security stuff matters. On the other hand, very short flights are super uneconomical. Jet's get their efficiency at high altitudes, and with short trips there just isn't enough distance to go up there and come back down.
