I’ve always said that I would be happy to sell hot dogs and make $200/day rather than to have to work in a stressful job and having to deal with the drama and negativity of my coworkers.
Amen!
i would do this rather than work at my BS retail job and dealing with a few co-workers i don't like!
Ray Ray 66
You just have to deal with at least one Karen a week.....(more or less depending on the city you live/work in).....
Very true
you right and I'm sure you are a good guy. Lot of people with a high salary in company are prick and mean drama
Nothing beats a having a hot dog from a cart! NYC native living in charlotte nc now. Love ur set up dude keep doing great
😁
Done right. Great walk around. Cheers 🍻
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank You 🙏
Nice video. Awesome cart set up.
:)
Great video
Awesome!
Great job and good luck
I came upon your video so thank you so much for the information I know it's been a couple years but I have to ask where did you find that vertical continent dispenser
Very clean sir
This is why i want to go to USA :c
It would be excellent to see these around towns in Australia
We have some vendors in Australia.
This guy is an example for the rest. Hygienic!
Great video sorry about your hand at 1:22
Hi! Can I see the water heater? Who hooks it up? Thank you!
They're actually 1/9 th pans, it takes 9 to equal one full pan, nice set up!
Nice walk thru
😀
Beautiful!!!
Cheers 🌭🍺
Thanks! You too!
That’s nice!!!
Good job man ☺
Thanks 😁
Thank you. All Info swirls round my melon all the time.
I getcha!
kraut and spicy brown mustard is an amazing combo
Agreed!
I didn't know that ... In New Mexico everything is Hatch Green Chili... LOL
I will take note of that...
I have never had a real Chicago Hot Dog!!! Shame on me!!
I have had Kraut and New Mexico Red Chile (like a chile dog with onions and cheese)... it was surprisingly good!
I like this set up it’s nice , but I’d have a condiment area for customers myself personally just me , this is very inspiring thank you
Yea, I love the condiment area or having a table with condiments for customers.
Customers can be really sloppy and get condiments everywhere, plus they leave lids open and flies get in. Im full service and put all my condiments on my dogs I serve. It's cleaner and customers like it.
I think this is better... for one reason... when OTHER people put their own condiment on... they can mess things up... and besides we don't know if they're clean (hands etc)... I'd rather do it like he is doing it... He put the condiments on... Cleaner that way.
@@BensCarts
OKAY... so school me here... Is it better the way this man is doing it, where he is doing the condiments or the way YOU are doing it... where YOU allow them to put the condiments on themselves???

SEEEE I'm with Heidi... That is exactly what I'm thinking...
Great cart. I am so addicted to watching these videos. I can't wait till this pandemic is over. I am definitely ordering me a big dog cart. I don't know if I'm going to get the grill or not. I do like the extra shelf there. But if everything notes on it I just don't know why I would need it. But I really do like this guy's cart. Okay time to watch another video. LOL
I hope it gets over soon Michael.
I've been a hotdog vendor for 4 years now. It's alot of long days and alot of work & shopping. The only way you can make really worthwhile money is to work fairs (I don't because I wanna work alone and it's hard to work fairs alone). Fairs are ALL DAY LONG for a week, thousands of dollars in food (dated chips and buns you hope you can sell) and alot of lugging shit around. The biggest drawback........no health insurance!!!! That's sucks unless you have a spouse that can carry you. There isn't an insurance plan out there worth a shit unless you pay over 1k a month. Not trying to be negative, but money is good if you have a good everyday spot. I make about $1300 per week (5 days) about $400 is food. Now you have to pay taxes if your honest, health insurance, business insurance etc. Also if you're not in a warm state, you have to winterize your cart ( sinks). You have to have functioning sinks with health dept. My cart is an enclosed cart, 8ft 4in tall and doesn't fit in my garage. Push carts are too much work. Had one of them first. Freedom is priceless, but there's downsides to vending. I wish I would have kept my job I was at for 10 years with full benefits. 🤦
@@heidihunt236 you make a lot of great points. And while thinking about this I know that lug and everything around would probably be the worst part. And then having to go shop almost on a daily basis. I won't be taking a song by myself. My son and daughter are going to be helping me. And we're not really using this to be a main source of income. Just to earn extra money. And to help out our community. And I do keep telling myself that it's going to be a lot harder than I am imagining. That would be the best realistic approach. I think a big hurdle for me. I live in Washington state and it seems very expensive to even get going with all the permits and fees and everything. I'm just working on one part at a time. Thank you for your thoughts
@@heidihunt236 in what state do you vend? And how often do you do it?

Covid isn’t as big a deal as they are making it out to be......
Think of it this way, most people are healthy enough that the flu or corona don’t do anything but give em the sniffles, but old people or people with certain ailments will have issues.... now imagine e all the people you have ever known to die of the flu..... now understand that in today’s world, the number of people who will die each year of a flu (including corona) will be triple....that’s it, just triple.....I say that, because I don’t know anyone that ever died of it......the 2017/2018 flu season 80,000 Americans died.... the 2018/2019 flu season about 36,000 Americans died.....
How do I go from simply buying the business to finding a good place where I can set up and get enough business? I'm in a relatively small city. Would I be better going to a bigger city to work?
My dude keep it up
He's pretty awesome.
I started smelling hot dogs while watching this and got confused. Then I realized my wife was cooking them in the kitchen haha
😂 That's funny... right there.
Whata the oeice range for one of these big dog carts? Please respond ! Thank you 😊
I see he's using foil on the bottom of his main stream pans is that help keep the dogs from getting wringled and keep the buns from getting soggy
Yup.
Nice setup you have there, good luck with the sales and wipe off those spots :))
EXCELLENT VIDEO... This man is so Cool...
Question: Besides Hot Dogs what ELSE can you server?
Legally... Hamburgers? Tacos? What else can you server?
The reason I am asking... is I am opening up my Acting Studio and want to
Teach my Acting Students how to cook... and work... and maybe they'll open
up their own Hot Dog Stand one of these days too...
With my Acting Studio... I server and give FREE food... and wanted to incorporate this Hot Dog Stand FIRST before have a Commercial Kitchen (I have had a Restaurant before).
I need to know EVERYTHING I can cook with my Hot Dog Stand...
Thank you for your help... and Thank you for sharing this GREAT Video...
LOVE IT
Answered for you yesterday in new video. :) Hope that helps.
Nice setup I’ll buy a all beef dog from this guy any day . Which city and state are you in❓
I believe he lives around the Phoenix area probably in Peoria or sun city.
Canberra, Australia
I'm thinking about building one, utility trailer 48x40 inch on aliexpress for under 200$
I just love the whole idea of being independence and selling nice dogs, and maybe pizza by the slice.
OH HOLY MOLY... Pizza is a good idea too...
but NOT by the slice (too much work) for you...
When people are hungry... they'll pay the price...
I was set up a gun show and this guy had a hand made Pizza Oven
(LOOKED super cool) on a small trailer behind his truck.
and was selling small pizzas for $10. each... he couldn't keep up!!!
Excellent idea... could go alone with the Hot Dog Stand.
If you sold by the slice... You'd have to have a WHOLE 'nother setup... to keep the food warm... besides making the pizzas which only take minutes to make...
SELL the WHOLE Pizza ... $10. each.
Very good demonstration can you share the big dog information 👍
I am so surprised you didn't get an answer!!!!
I'd like to know too...
Great Video, if I may ask... where did you purchase or ordered your Big Dog Cart?
HotDogCartStore.com
good buddy
Hey Michael. Please tell me again how you cook your dogs. I see some grilled ones. They tell me if I grill the dogs before I sell them they will shrink and look ugly. Do you boil first? Then grill? How long are you grilling them? Thank you!
TRICK... on Coney Island... they boil them with I call "Chicken Juice" (water with chicken billion) ... and then they FRY them with Butter right before they serve them! When I had my restaurant... this is the way I served them ... EXCELLENT. They're NOT dry. Full of Flavor.
Life was good on a hotdog stand
Teach me your ways wise one.
Yes!
Hi Michael! Any ideas about how you put the water heater underneath? I was told they put the hot water heater in the bread box to protect it from the elements. I really don't want it in the bread box.
EASY... a Tank less Water Heater that hooks up straight to your Propane heater...
Look under "Tank less water heater to wash horses/dogs... (Ventless) EXCEL Tankles Water Heater is the one I'm getting for my Vintage RV.
@@judichristopher4604 Thank you Judi. Still clueless. I prefer to leave my breadbox alone. I have that same Big Dog Cart. Where xactly do you hook it up? Dougs Dogs has it on the side beneath the cart I'm guessing. I have one propane tnk in the cart. I don't have a propane heater.
@@ianscianablo8507
Thank you.
Question? Were do you get the black condiment container
Thanks
It looks like a San Jamar Mini Dome to me, with the stacker kit extension item added on. San Jamar has a Dome and Mini Dome with a number of modular add on items. I got the larger one myself at Webstaurant under San Jamar Dome. And it shows the one in the video on there site.
Thanks Obleo!
just curious, do any cops ask to see your permits? Do they ask you all the time, or have they never asked in your life? Thanks for the video
Never. The most a cop will do is see if you have a business license or permit. Never the HD permit, but many vendors display those on their carts.

Hi Michael!!! I'm weeks away from selling dogs outside my house! I have a Big Dog Cart-never used it before! Nervous!!! Where did you get your condiment tray and condiment bottles? How much did ALL those xtra shelves cost? Thank you!!! Love your set-up!!
You can do it!
The condiment bottles you can order on Amazon. (they put it in my recommendations for some reason) or buy at Wal-Mart or any grocery or pharmacy. Some have the clear ones and some have the red and yellow ones
They sell them at dollar stores lol. Do you need a permit to sell hot dogs outside of your house?
You wrote that a year ago. Did you ever get started?
@@Jennifr1966 Yes. Started selling this june. First time this whole summer. But still can't find that sweet spot location. Next week I'll be vending at Tractor Supply for first time.
Is this the same guy who is featured in Ben's Day In the Life Paid Video? If so Just wondering why he changed up his steam pan set up. Is this way better than how he showed before. Just curious.
Yup.

Woe yummy wish u were in newyork.
Appreciate the video!!
You're very welcome.
Hi Michael! What is that device that is in between your bread box? How does it lock? Mine sways when I drive so I put bungee hooks to hold them in place
Michael can you please explain how I could use my Big Dog Cart without a battery? Can I use a charger on the water pump? Just asking.
I am going to use a Solar Generator like a Bluetti... that has many plug-ins... and portable.
Where do you get power for your coolers?
ICE ... lots of BAGS of ICE...
Hey That’s The Date Win I Made My Channel

I honestly don't remember.
@@BensCarts whatever it is, it looks so aesthetic😭😭😭😭
Really random....but......i kinda wanna try this with spare time. Just to see what can really make. Its a low cost startup. I can see the rewards if put the time in and have the right location
I know You say it’s specially made for You , My question is this can I have the same cart made for me as well ???
You'd want to email him and ask exactly how he ordered and then submit for a custom cart quote at hotdogcartstore.com
Is it possible to acquire a hot dog cart with a grill for use in Los Angeles, Ca.? I love bacon wrapped hot dogs and would love to sell them to customers.
Depends on your county codes. Call and ask.
Hey Michael! Can I just pan fry my Hoffman dogs on my Big Dog Cart instead of boiling? Then plant those babies in the steam holder? They taste better browned in pan!
Test it.
I hate seam rollers... drys them out.
Brown (fry) them on a Flat Top Grill... like BlackStone... they have a protable grill that would work just great 24 "
I really dont like the umbrella I'm going to get a tent when I can afford it. And skirts for the bottom of the cart. On windy days I use twice as much propane.
So I've got half of my cart empty I'm going to start selling roast and potatoes and spaghetti and soup when I cater to businesses. I'm waiting for a railroad yard to get back to me to give me the ok to sell in their yard. Fingers crossed. Hey thanks for sharing.
The Cynic thanks for the skirt tip I will make one for my big dog cart.
Any word from the railroad?

@@BensCarts but na for real nice setup, i got a welder and formulating a plan for my own trailer and yours is pretty bomb
In New York City I’m told there is a waiting list of seven lifetimes and if you attempted to sell without it your stuff will be confiscated by the city
Maybe better off going on welfare everything is free and can sleep late.
I don't know... I haven't heard that.
I want a cart like that but to be able to do burgers on in California is that possible?
Likely they will require a food trailer.
@@BensCarts Thank you for your response ,yeah looking into it they want fire suppression also. Love your videos always inspiring and gives us hope!
I'd love to do this, but with pretzels. I'm tired of cubicles 😭
It's doable and some vendors (including me) have added pretzels.
How much does this kind of cart cost?
Depends on how you order it (what options) but here's all the prices: hotdogcartstore.com/product/the-big-dog-cart/
I like to watch this video when I eat hotdogs
No slaw or onions?
you lucky dog you!!.. my state says i cant have a grill or flat top.. just steamer/boil dogs.. oh well nice cart though

Hot Dog Cart Store thanks 🙏 Ima have to look into that
What about burger and dog stand?
Alex Still?
Melts the tin foil?
do you need to be over 18 to have one of these?
Nope! I've got 2 interviews with young people on here, one was 11 y/old in Florida.
Could you please recommend a decent bun.
Many vendors have one made at a local bakery. I never did that and always used a Saralee top split. It's a brioche bread and steams up nicely.
For real tho, why hot dog flavored water? special request? personal habit? PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!!
I think I'd eat my own supply
Nice but where's the chili
I think in the little pan inside the steam pan. It's where I keep mine too.
