All beef standard dog, flat bottom roll. Both items steamed. Paul's red relish out of NC. Off brand sodas, different chips. Offer different condiments. Finish off with sauerkraut and chili. Sit back and make money.
Can not tell you how happy to hear you say those those hings. I have told my husband/partner, but coming from you it is Wonderful. Blessings
Awesome Sabrina!
Koegels from Flint Michigan are the absolute best hot dogs I have ever eaten.
Do yourselves a favor and get some and enjoy the snap of the casing as you take that first bite , you will never go back to your old brands . They are amazing !!!
If you live out west try Hoffy’s
And Vienna in Chicago
❤❤❤
Hey Ben, "Good Dogs Gourmet Hotdogs and Catering" here. We've done our third event. We were specially invited to the July Jamboree because they noticed our meatball subs at the last event we did... but it RAINED! Both days! Barely covered our costs but hey, we live to vend another day! Thanks for your ongoing inspiration.
Great attitude. The rain has been horrible this year and many vendors have had events and gigs cut short or cancelled. Make hay while the sun shines. :)
Big fan of your work Brotha! I’m thinking of starting my own hot dog side hustle here in SoCal 🇺🇸🌭
Koegel Hot Dogs are the Absolutely the Very Best.
And Kent County foods that's sold at gorden food stores And used it several nationwide restaurants including der wiener schnitzel in California
I just opened Hot Dog stand on a private GolfCourse with street side business also it’s only seasonal but I would love to be open all year round this was my first season I did okay I know I could do better but I watched a lot of your videos your amazing great advice I just came across this one and ofcourse I use Nathan’s lol but I did try a bunch and they tasted the best to me and everyone loves them
Love the video. Always great content and information for vendors. Thank you from Tx.
Thank you Michelle.
I live on Long Island sabrett is the main dog here along with boars head that you’ll find at the hot dog trucks. I grew up on sabrett still my favorite of course with the natural casing but I enjoy all good quality dogs we have Karl ehmer dogs a local butcher , there’s some great dogs out of Brooklyn to I have a sabrett table top steamer with the umbrella that I got about 20 years ago always a big hit when I set it up at my bbqs. I also enjoy a Vienna beef Chicago dog with all the fixings. It’s all good stuff I really enjoy when I travel to find the regional favorite dogs with the local toppings. I am craving a hotdog 🌭 now. :)
You’re a wealth of information there! Thanks for the common sense and tips! 👍🏽
I appreciate that!
Thanks for the tip.
If you're going to sell steamed or boiled from a cart, nothing smaller than a 10 to 1 (10 to a pound) and choose a brand that keeps its flavor and won't split. In Chicago, there's a meat packer called Real that's popular with vendors. You'll have to find a distributor, just call the meat packer and ask. From someone in the wholesale business selling to pushcarts for decades.
Plant city,Fl. Is the winter strawberry capitol of America! The Strawberry Festival is every year! Lots of bluegrass and country music here!!
Lots of veggies grown here too!!
Vienna#1. Sabrett's #2. Nathan's #3.
Vienna/ Sabrett/ Nathans is so 100% correct...in my opinion
You can’t go wrong on any of these!! Sabrett’s-Nathan’s-Hoffy’s-Casper’s-Hebrew National-Vienna Beef 🌭 yummy yum yum
Smith’s Natural Casing Wieners……. Just found them in NE Ohio….
Manufactured in Erie, PA!!
These are incredible
I was glad to see Sabretts, because they are my favorite among the national brands.
I avoided Nathan's all my life because I assumed that they were overrated for the cost. But recently I had them without knowing that's what I was tasting and now I'm hooked. I do very much enjoy Hebrew National and Oscar Meyer.
I bet you were the type of guy who bought those a BAR hotdogs lmao, try a good chicago dog and you will forever be hooked
Hey Big Ben!!! Opening-up TODAY!!!!! 11AM-4PM. Upstate New York on Route 7!!! In just three hours! By myself. For First Time Ever!!!
@@RaymondGinn1978 Struggling. Today I closed very early. I was in front of a car parts store. Busy main street. I sell a dog every 40 minutes. Propane running out, ice melting, dogs splitting & bloated. I just gave-up that spot.
Any better luck?
im learning so much from you...will be buying a cart as soon as i can swing it
Homeless now?
@@oldironsides4107 sort of. im in the process of building a cabin inthe wilderness. its almost done
Thanks for the info, will be looking for a cart soon😎
:) thank you.
In northern NY Glaziers are definitely one of the favorites, also called Red Skins or just Reds.
This is great advice, show you care about what your doing and you'll generally win.
Thank you! 😊
Sahlen’s hot dogs are my favorite.
Ben The more I watch your videos the more I learn. Regarding your advice on selling "your" brand of hot dog, I think that's a great idea and I don't think it always has to be a " name " brand. But I would have a good quality ALL beef hot dog and then use name brand condiments ! I have seen restaurants use cheaper brands of condiments and they taste awful and I thought the same thing boy how cheap !! You have sage advice for those getting started and I just received your book today " hot dogs saved my life " and will be reading from cover to cover on my cruise next week.
Thank you Richard!
great job,
Thanks for consistent informative information
Vienna Frankfurters, the love of Chicago.
I found out that Nathan's is now owned by Commy China. I avoid that brand and have switched to Hebrew National which has always been just as good if not better anyway.
Source please. Smithfield own Nathan's.
@@BensCarts Smithfield is owned by China too.
You don't have to look far online...
Here's a quote from an article...
"In 2013, Smithfield Foods was bought by the Shanghui Group, later rebranded as the WH Group, for $4.7 billion. It remains the largest total acquisition of a U.S. company by the Chinese. With that purchase, the Chinese owned one in four pigs raised in the U.S. and, by adding 146,000 acres, continued to be the world's largest buyer of American farmland.
Really?
@@RaymondGinn1978 That may be your opinion, but, at the end of the day, they're not owned by communist china.
@@RaymondGinn1978 I'd ask if you need me to spell it out for you, but, that's already been done. Maybe you should read slower?

Good video👍 also your voice reminds me of my grandfather. Made me smile :)
Great info brother thumbs up God bless you and thank you❤
Koegels hot dogs from Flint, Michigan my man are WORLD famous. ALL local vendors and restaurants use them in their coneys and dogs and even the snow birds that go to Florida want family to send them these top of the line links to other states. Their Viennas use natural casings for that snap and they are outrageously good!
I live 20 miles from Flint and it's always been Koegels hot dogs.
@@tomtom7299 Yeah buddy, I went through school from Junior High through graduation with one of the Koegel girls who lived in the neighborhood by me. They were good people and their factory is still right here by the airport in Flint. All of their products are tasty and worth trying for sure!
Hope you don't use the water supply in flint to boil your dogs lol.
@@moe6806 You do realize boiling the water is what makes it safe right?
@@ronwilson5476 you do realize boiling the water won't get rid of highly toxic heavy metals like lead, right? Do you even know Flint, Michigan?
We have Bright leaf here in eastren north Carolina its a local dog and red in color..the best hot dog ever!!
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
Someone thumbed down this informative video.....LOL. I'll just assume these are the folks using and proudly displaying cheap crap.
LOL
Thumann's are the best. Try them you'll love them! #1
I'm considering costcos brand I've eaten them for a long time and it us a good product easily available. I'm still going to dirty up that water though.
Sabrett is my favorite with Hebrew National in 2nd. Then Nathan's in 3rd. Fresh Deli hot dogs are also excellent, especially if you like a snappy skin..
Sabrett is best
Yes. Not many people know about them though.
I have never seen Sabrett in any grocery store
@@oldironsides4107 Lowe's has them. I think Piggly Wiggly does too.
i’ve had nathan’s and it’s good but i also like hebrew national , i might have had sabrett but i’d need to try some “just fir the record” before i’d endorse them
My favorite that reminds me of an old dog at the ballpark is a Ballpark Grillmaster. Not their regular stuff it's different.
Nathan's Jumbo 100% Beef is absolutely best Exploding with so much Flavor no toppings needed.....
I use Glacier hot dogs. But that is an Upstate NY thing. Like way upstate on Canadian border upstate.
I've never had one... I will try that one day. I was in Olean NY last year... but didn't see the first vendor or hot dog joint.
@@BensCarts Not sure if they sell them that far down state. They are made in Malone NY.
nathans all beef natural casing i think are the best. consumer reports said it was hebrew national all beef. yes i have done a taste test.
I make my own hotdog Wieners, which is not hard to do, just time-consuming. I plan to have my own food trailer someday and serve my homemade dogs.
Excellent Excellent video!!!!!!!!!!!! Who in the world would thumbs down this must be a troll!
lol... can you imagine their lives?
Anything but Ballpark.
Dollar store hotdogs! Drunk people can’t tell the difference. Plus more money in my pocket
I like deutschmacher better than all the others. They are owned by Kayem, which is a New England brand. The flavor, the snap, and the quality of ingredients are better.
Valleydale all beef red hotdogs are still the best hotdogs I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a big variety.
Brilliant video
Thank you!
I only eat koegel hot dogs flint Michigan
Excellent info thanks so much makes a ton of sense what you're saying
In Chicago area if you sell hot dogs and they don't say 'Vienna' on the sign, people want to know what you're trying to pull.
Sabrett only for me! Looking into getting one very soon.
Woooohoooo.... keep me posted.
I happen to live in and upon hotdog damnation. Every single workday. QT chick/pork roller grill was it for me "2015 - 2022". Now, the Racetrack rollers have my full attention.
It's because their chilled condiment selection is better.. and there might be some beef in their dogs.
$3.01 out the door for two stacked dogs is a dream come true.
I’ve never had a Nathan’s hotdog. I’m a pretty big fan of Sabrett.
We Don't have them on the west coast.
Hebrew national the best
@@eugeniasyro5774 you can order them online.
@@muhammad17115 sabrett you will be hooked
@@TheKado28 all beef ✌️
Koegels, MI made❤😊
Might have to make some hotdogs this weekend 👀
My opinion is Miller Hot Dogs. It may be a regional dog, but it is larger and tastier than most. Yes, Nathan's is a fine dog, but I personally like the "fatter" dogs with ooodles of taste.
Lol.. I've been to hillbilly hotdogs, it's definitely worth the trip
Koegals,, from MI ❤
Vienna or nothing. There is no substitute
If your from Michigan KOEGEL IS THE BEST HOT DOG HANDS....DOWN!!!
😊
Kowalski dogs are a close second
Try the carni's fair in gibsonton, florida
At the International showmans association!! This is where circus and carnival people go in winter(outside of Tampa) i wish sysco would sell to the public, gordans foods does, they are here in Hillsborough County,Fl.(Tampa).
They are a Indiana business and as a truck owner. This one company I would not haul for. They don't want to pay the going rate! Just my choice.
Nathan's full casing hotdog is the best. I sold them in the 1970's. The snap and taste is supreme. It's too bad you can't buy them in the store.
Hebrew is the most sold Costco Hot Dog!
I know in our state Costco doesn’t sell Nathan’s at their concessions! They’re huge long beef Hot dogs with a ton of snap!
It’s more like a sausage than a Hot Dog!
Dogs are best at the ball game or other large events! Who ever that vendor is has the best Dog! Sysco has the absolute best chedder cheese sauces! The Best! I wish i could buy a cam of Sysco Cheese!
We would love to taste your dogs!
Turkey legs come from Tampa too, i dont know the companys name??
Smith hot dogs from Erie are the best!
Sabrett beats them EVERY time in a blind taste test. It's just that they are so expensive, same with Sahlens. Great value uncured also but they don't sell them anymore.
There's a lot of food manufacturers out there that will co-pact their product with your name on it just like they do for the grocery stores and pizza and cheese and everything else including hot dogs
Private labeling!
Koegels, from MI ❤❤❤❤❤
I use sabrett all beef natural casing hot dogs, their umbrella bring me business, now, if I can not get sabrett hot dogs i use black bear all beef natural casing hot dogs, very close taste to sabett s, some of my customers like the black bear better, shop rite supermarket in my area is the only store that sell black bear all beef natural casing hot dogs, sabrtte aare all ways first choice
I tasted the hot dogs before I started. I all so know my area.
Sabretts are pretty good dogs.
Try RESTAURANT DEPOT,OR US FOODS, THEY SELL TO THE PUBLIC DIRECTLY. Its about time!!
I prefer Vienna beef hot dogs
Sabrett is the best hot dogs if you want to have a hot dog stand. Second is Nathan's
Can you advertise two different brands? Im in NC and here most locals prefer Brightleaf (pink) or any type of brown dog.
Absolutely you can. Give your customers what they want. I would always recommend to do Brightleaf if you're in the that part of the state (red dogs) and another regular hot dog.
Fischer jumbo is very good
I love ❤️ Costco hotdogs….. 😌😌😌😌
😁
I don’t know….but Costco Daw Dogs are pretty darn good….
🤔
Personally as an aficionado, natural casing is the way to go. Boars Head all beef un-cured, in lamb skin casing are excellent. Usingers of Wisconsin is excellent, as is H & H meats. Most great dogs are made by local families in northeast cities which have eastern European roots (Italian, Jewish, Polish, German) whose families compete for local business among each other. By their nature these are NOT national brands, but they are the best.
Taste and a rejection of adulteration should be the criteria of the vendor. By contrast, any national brand is 💩.
I love their deli meats but after trying their hot dogs, they tasted a little to garlicky. I prefer Hebrew National.
If you can find it, try Feltmann's. Natural casing, uncured and delicious!
I love Nathans hotdogs ..
Any cart not using Vienna Hot Dogs, is using the wrong dog
I use nathans at the drive In I work at lol, they are ok...
I wish I had a hot dog business 😢
What the French Mustrard!
😂
Sam's actually sells the Nathan's in bulk from their deli.
Yes they do.
SHALEN'S -BUFFALO,NY, COOK OVER LUMP OAK CHARCOAL, NOT BRICKETTES!!
Albert's hot dogs are incredible but it's regional company. Northern WV, Western Pa and eastern Ohio I have ate them all and we have a famous hot dog shop here in my city turned village after the rust belt and it's been here since WW-2. Same family and they use albert's and they are not cheap. I stumbled across them accidently. My motorcycle club was raising money at one of our parties for a charity and the owner of the hot dog shop donated 2 cases of albert's wieners. I knew right then and that was only 10 years ago that it was the best all around hot dog that is worth paying for. I have had Nathan's but they aint all that.
what are "Vianna" and "Soberettes"?
Don’t put fresh bun in the steamer on top of buns that are already in there. Rotate those things out.
Yes!
Sabrett's has the best hotdogs!
Sahlen's and Weber's Mustard. Not even close.
No one selling hotdogs is going to help potential competition. The less competition, the better.
tl;dw your own "brand" -- do a taste test and find what you like best
I get Hebrew!
Bar S jumbo dogs are the best....🤪👍
Buy them for my DOG.
Zweigles is the best.
Where I come from it's about the hot dog Guy , unless you're buying a $10 "craft" link , and if you are I just feel sorry for you. Hot dogs are hot dogs and give me that oh I know the difference.
Bar S is alright too
Some love those... I can't stand them.
