- See the xbox adaptive controller in action as the chief medical officer for Warfighter Engaged works with a wounded service member to figure out a good setup for gaming with one hand. Learn how you can support WFE at www.warfighterengaged.org
I love the concept of this controller. It’s basically a DIY controller because every disability is different, and certain people need certain button setups to be comfortable
Thank you for your service!!
Thanks for watching! Definitely an honor to serve!
Great demonstration. Thanks for helping me to understand how set up works.
You can hear the joy in his voice when he yells "agh uh wrong button" Awesome man!
Awesome I'm so pumped that you make these buttons just ordered some can't wait to get back to gaming
This is truly Amazing and inspirational. I have so much respect for this man for pursuing his interests even through his disabilitys
Might find a right handed joystick helpful paired with the buttons, I know Logitech is a partner for this so there's might be a good place to start. Great video, have a great day.
Completely agree. We've been working with a lot of different switches and joysticks to see what works best. Everyone is a little different. Haha
Enjoy the gaming! Thank you for your service.
You said that 3D printed the buttons. I think if the bases for the buttons was hexagonals and with small magnets on the sides (this being optional, it could be only rubber feets to "stick" on the surface) the options to set better/endless configs would be great!
Thank you for your service
It's so cool finally seeing the Adaptive Controller in action. Although, I think you should have switched the controls the other way around; with the right hand he can already do everything holding the regular controller, he mostly needed peripherals for the left (expecially the analog stick and the shoulder buttons).
Congratulation..very good explication
Wow. God Bless.
Something to consider, if you haven't had a setup yet for it, the Logitech G600 gaming mouse has 12 buttons on the side and total of 20 buttons all on the right hand. with gshift (the 3rd click mouse button on far right) you can have access to 39 buttons (whatever you want) in just a moment. The mouse has 3 (6 if you count the g shift settings) profiles to set up w/e you want on the keyboard. Its a pretty nice mouse once you get used to it and also can provide a lot of keys all at once. I've used mine for nearly 9 years only now experiencing minor hiccups , assuming the video isn't mirrored, could be a great option for PC gaming and general use for your right hand. I already own a new one waiting for this mouse to stop working.
If you could get some kind of pedal or foot button, it could free up some space for the hand buttons
He doesn't have feet, but good suggestion. We definitely use feet pedals if we can!
As much as this adaptive controller is cool I feel like he’s completely capable of using a keyboard and maybe a well fitted mouse. But I do understand the concept, cool video!
Hi, Great Vid....The little black motion controller used here (forward / back /l/r) would be ideal for myself (no hand movement) could you possibility tell me where you got it? :D
Its cool I realised you have the site in the description ;)
So you can plug in a normal Xbox controller and the two big black buttons would be A and B buttons?
I recommend getting Ben Hecks right handed accessibility controller
I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the suggestion!
I'm a one-handed gamer. This is a dream come true idea, but looks more difficult than playing with a standard controller. All I really need is a controller that has all the triggers and bumpers on the face of the controller... Or to at least remap any button. As it is right now with the about remapping option, you can't switch triggers for face buttons. Triggers are very tough with most games.
Still, I'm curious about this new controller.
As the name say, you can fully adapt him for way you fell more comfortable to play
You could use the steam controller with steam link. Remap anything you want!
How did you type this then?
@@girux2412 with my other hand? I'm confused. Why couldn't I type this?
@@fashionandfrags It was a joke smart one
I have the same handicap as this guy , only i mis my righthand.
i made mods for years to controllers for my self so i can play so, i love that this controller is being developt and that the console builders are finaly thinking about the less abelt gamers.
i will buy one of these , great work.
ps
i made a simple mod to my controller so i can play shooters like a "normal" person and i made it so i can use bot sides of the triggers with one and the same finger. now i can aim and shoot please let me know if some one has need for this . than i wil show you how to make it for your self.
I, too, am missing my right hand. I wish I were a techy like you to make those mods.
thanks, i made a few and tried to show them to people but nobody was interested.
ooh and feel free to ask me for help if you need a mod or some tips or something, (sorry for my bad spelling)
You are a normal person.
Johan van der Weele I only have my left hand and I’m very interested in your invention for the Xbox controller
I'm new double amputee interested in this do you make a holder for the controller
Genial!
Where did you get the switches
We sell them at our website! www.warfighterengaged.org
❤❤❤❤❤
Neat system. I wonder why he didn't hold the controller in his right hand. Use foot pedals for lb/lr and use his left hand on the joystick. I wonder if his right hand is limited? He did have the brace. Anyhow neat. Glad these exist.
Yeah, we were just trying different setups in this particular situation. One thing to note is that he also doesn't have feet, so couldn't use that particular suggestion. Good thinking though!
See. Goes to show judgement of any kind is bad. Still so amazing he can get his gaming on.
There's a better way for people that have full mobility in one hand.( Xim apex) and (Azeron)
You need the Xim Apex to connect the Azeron to any console or to use the Azeron as a Controller/PC Controller.
The Azeron has...
1 analogue stick with a push button.
1 D-pad with a push button.
6 buttons for your index finger.
5 buttons for your middle finger.
4 buttons for your ring finger.
4 buttons for your pinky finger.
1 thumb button/thumbnail button
Comes in left or right versions, Then co-pilot the Xim with the Xbox Adaptive Controller to use your arm for directional movement and pedals for triggers.
I think a regular mouse for the right hand would work great
Kimilsungia yes with extra buttons to jump, grab, agacharte y with left hand move with keybord o la cruz si se puede 😎👍
Where did you get the four button for the handicap controller or the other buttons? I think the buttons that Microsoft sells are to expensive. Can you give me the link of wear I can buy them?
You can get them at our shop! Here's the link: warfighterengaged.org/shop/
Where can I find the 4 button thing? My uncle has ms and I want him back into games. I can’t seem to find buttons without paying almost 70 for 1 button.
You can get them at our shop! Here's the link: warfighterengaged.org/shop/
Where do you get the button sets that plug into the controller?
You can find the buttons at www.warfighterengaged.org Thanks!
Man they’re getting pubg to work with all the complicated controls. I’d be digging some simple racing games
were do u get those buttons. im trying to figure out a way to play rocket league since my old one handed controller is worn out and cant get no more. i bought an xbox
You can order any of them at our website: www.warfighterengaged.org! Thanks for watching!!!
Xbox is the best for all people
Where did you guys buy the buttons and such?
I got them at www.warfighterengaged.org
@@OTUnleashed Thanks!
Your a PUBG Pro!
i would try having two hands.
I'm a Quad in your opinion should I get it,it looks very difficult because of the amount of buttons needed for a game
It all depends on how much function. You can use it along side the quad stick and use sip/puff controls. How far up is your spinal cord injury? Do you have any function in your hands or upper extremities?
@@OTUnleashed I'm a c4/c5 incomplete I have full biceps in both arms and some triceps in my right arm but no hands or wrist function and I wear wrist splinters to support my wrists
Is there a phone number I can all to get some assistance setting this up for a kid? His mom and I are not gaming savvy and I am struggling with getting info on setting up the they regular controller to work for the left hand the adaptive controller to work for extra buttons on the right.
Hey Brittany! So sorry that I am just now replying. I somehow missed your comment. Shoot me an email and we'll get you hooked up! armyotguy@gmail.com
try a Logitech g13 type gamepad with an mouse like thing under it. all movement with one hand!
So make a mouse with a large quantity of keys
Wow Microsoft has outdone them selves now everybody can play disabled or not so it is fair!
This made me realize this also helps people with carpal tunnel syndrome 😱😱😱
It seems like that controller would be very difficult to use especially in fast paced games.
Seems like mouse with buttons would be better
2:54 what a cruel joke
He didn't mean it as a joke
And I wasn’t being literal so learn to understand a joke 😂
I also cringed hard when he said that.
That made me look at the comments 💀
Where you at Sony!?
When? During this video?
