Two Quarterbacks: Panarin is one of the best passers in the league with elite creativity, and Adam Fox may be the best defenseman in the league manning the power play; his ability to keep the puck in the zone is worth watching in its own right. Add in the top faceoff man in the league in Vinny Trocheck, the best net front presence in the league in Chris Kreider; elite ability to tip pucks, and Mika Zibanejad who has an elite shot in that left circle role; up there with Ovi and Stamkos in production.
The greatest asset for the Ranger PP is they hold on to the puck far longer than any other team. When a guy approaches the Breadman in an attempt to steal or simply block a pass he holds on or quickly deaks him and only then does he find the open man. So when other teams and players would have already made the pass the Rangers hold the puck to absolute last millisecond to make the pass. That often takes the defender out of the play for just a moment.
That's skill and the Rangers are elite.

Biggest thing about Canes PP is they try to get you tired with these passes and then they strike, Rangers are just to quick for them and Igor is ... well Igor
Excellent analysis, coming from a Ranger fan. Man to man, Rangers are a better team. It's not the amount of shots at the net it's the quality that counts.
I wouldn't say it's excellent, maybe insightful but they couldn't resist crapping on a NY team by saying The Canes are The Best. Clearly they don't know how to do math.
Agreed. Rangers top players are better and when they are on Canes can’t stop them.
Great analysis. Canes aggressiveness is being hard countered by the skilled Rangers finding open guys. The bottom line is the Rangers have more talent and they can handle the pressure and capitalizing on Canes aggressiveness. This has been the case not just in special teams but 5v5 as well. Rangers D is making outlet and stretch passes to kick start the offense creating odd man rushes and break aways.
This is not luck. It is by design. It is akin to a Pacquaio vs Mayweather fight. Canes are coming in a flurry from all angles and Rangers are patient and counter punching with effectiveness.

could not understand why they were the cup favorite. To me that team is just the panthers but with worse offense and worse goaltending. Theyre not better than florida and theyre certainly not better than new york
