What should be upsetting (to the consumer) is that if a formula works the same way, the packaging is the same…. why does this one cost $20 and this one cost $100? A name. That’s it. You’re paying for a name.
Exactly. That’s what my mind goes to. If I can get the same thing for cheaper ima do it.
I'm not a luxury gal by any means but it could also be other things we don't realize have value. Like higher quality ingredients, for example
I firmly believe that over 40$ on skincare and 20$ on makeup, the ingredients quality take place but you are paying for brand name. I know for a fact that eyeshadows for example make a difference. Maybe not in performance, but ingredients matter to my eyes
Maybe that's why they are putting skin care in their make-up when sometimes you don't need it.
Im NOT a "luxury" shopper AT ALL. Ive never used a single thing by CT, DIOR, URBAN DECAY, PATRICK TA, MAC ..... etc etc etc
My version of "FANCY" is when I purchase LOREAL instead of ELF or ESSENCE!!! lol (tho I loveeee my ELF & ESSENCE MAKEUP!!!!)
I'm almost 55- and seriously, I've been inside of Ulta once, and I've NEVER been inside a Sephora!!!!! Am I really missing out???

For me it depends on who is getting duped. Indy brands getting duped pisses me off. Brands that charge way more than a product is worth and your paying for the name , I love it!

When I moved to Australia, I couldn’t believe how little makeup I could get my hands on. So the fact that a brand has made products more readily available there is good, in my eyes.

As an Australian and makeup lover, I agree that what we have available to us here is pitiful. I'd love to be a mega millionaire and have my own stores that have more products that are available internationally here.
But that all said, the cost of living here is out of control, so people couldn't justify the spend.
I’ve heard similar things from others who live there when it comes to buying wigs. When you have alopecia the struggle is real! I’m happy to be in the US where certain things are readily available, even with some of the complex issues here. Each country has them.

Having brands like MCobeauty here in Australia really helps us because the high end brands here that we love are so expensive and we all can’t afford them,and we have a lot of stock problems here when going in store to Sephora it get frustrating.
Another Aussie here and can confirm we have huge stock issues with international brands. MCo is hugely popular here. They copied the Glossier Cloud Paints before we could even get Glossier here. And even now we can get Glossier and it’s mega pricey!
Even ELF is hard to get..you see plenty of spaces for it in the shops, but empty shelves
And from New Zealand, we have major issues with keeping up on new releases. Mco delivers every time for me! Love it.
As an Aussie, MCo is HUGEEEEE and has completely taken over all other drugstore brands. It’s also accessible at grocery stores, places like Big W (sort of like Target here) as well as drugstores (our Chemists). So it’s luxury-like, affordable and accessible. It’s a huge win. Lots of Australian influencers are ambassadors as well. But I am curious about how they are getting away with it 👀 If you find out more let us know!
Just beat we are seeing it everywhere doesn’t make it “huge”. The products are ordinary and way too expensive.
I use it all the time but I don’t wear foundation (acne) I think it’s the best thing lol especially living in a small country town nowhere near a city
I'm in Aus as well and I have to say, it has never called my attention. I can't pin point as to why though.
I feel like it has a cheap 80s cardboard and plastic packaging despite it trying to appear lux

Us Australians and New Zealanders have been using Mcobeauty for a hot minute! Before I watch this video I already know the products slap. It’s very hard for us to afford/find the higher end products so a brand actually doing this for us was great!
** and for us, this beauty line is affordable but with your conversion rate it will be more pricey for you. It’s usually how we feel with literally EVERYTHING else! For example e.l.f isn’t as cheap and affordable as it is for you guys over there! E.l.f & Mcobeauty run in the same price line for us.
In the US, the e.l.f. contour and blush wands are around $9. Here in Australia they're $29. Drugstore pricing in the US usually doesn't translate to Australian pricing. Mco are middle of the range here price-wise.

i don’t know about her partnership with medicube, but there may be a non compete clause in her agreement with medicube and that’s why it might not be feasible for tati to do a facial tool video at this moment
Wouldn’t be surprised if they were all affiliated. These big corporations own everything.
I don’t think companies should be able to dupe so hard on the lines that work hard at the design and product. On the other hand, you find the neatest stuff and influence my shopping habits lol
Here in Australia, we dont have access to as many things as the rest of the world. So the fact that we have access to these dupes is great. Unlike Revolution, they are actually good products. The lip oils are one of my faves, and their sponges.
Dupes are awesome! For some who want quality and don’t want to spend a fortune on makeup it’s great. I’m here for it! Bring on the dupes.

Hi Tati! Love these dupes - sometimes some brands are so unreasonably expensive. Esp CT - her products are so expensive with such little product. A lot of companies dupe the product but this is wild, the packaging and all! Love from the Tati list 💕😍
I am so glad you are doing this. I am Australian I buy this product all the time. I love them. I can’t afford and also don’t really want to spend so much money on the ever-changing makeup market.
I agree with you about the packaging 😮 it's nice to do dupes for the people that can't afford the good stuff, BUT they need to do THEIR own packaging! I don't like copy cats lolol 😂

MCoBeauty started in Australia in 2002. Its well-established, award-winning, worked with Karl Lagerfeld, Elle Macpherson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to name a few. Charlotte Tilbury didn't start until 2013, 11 years later. Why the automatic assumption that MCo copied CT? Maybe CT used it for inspiration? Don't make assumptions
@@veaton77 Well elf has been around for ages too. Doesn't mean they are not copying and duping other brands. Just because you are in the market longer, doesn't mean you're above duplicating other well-known brands.
I think brands do expect such 'copying' to some extent. Like how Charlotte named her highlighter 'pinkgasm' kind of copying the name of Nars' bestselling blush. I rmb eye-rolling when she first announced the product.
@@veaton77all the mco dupes have come out after the originals so I don’t think it’s assuming 🤣
For me especially the packaging should be different. Because if you want to copy the formulation at least you have to research and try a bit but you can just scan a bottle in a 3D printer and make the same packaging without effort.
Also it's Not the same product and somehow you fool the eye and pretend it is.
I have never bought luxury stuff BUT I never bought dupes ether ether. I'm a fan of origality 😁

As soon as I saw your Instagram story I knew it was McoBeauty. As an Aussie I’m so glad you were finally able to do this brand. Their range has gotten so big in last year and a half.
I like the idea of being able to have products that look high end for a cheaper price because not everyone can afford the luxury products.
Charlotte Tilbury has never done me wrong! Love her Products!!!
Me too, literally wore all her products on my wedding day 5+ years ago however, I will not go back, Mcobeauty is just as good, sometimes even better imo!

It is a favourite here in Australia, for us it's a little more than dupes it's in line with Revlon or L'Oreal as a serious trusted makeup brand.
Unfortunately as you can see it's an expensive brand, if you look at the currency exchange the setting spray is $25 but that's still cheaper than most of our chemist's and grocery stores.
I would highly recommend trying other items like the Ulta stay flawless foundation or in my opinion a killer highlighter like Highlight & Glow Beauty Wand in the colour champagne glow.

I’m here for dupes!! I don’t spend money on expensive makeup as of the last 2 years. It’s just not what I want to spend big bucks on. I prefer to spend my money on my workout clothes! So I buy all the affordable, the dupes & hope duping stays!!

The elf lash xtnd mascara is a tubing mascara and it is not getting the hype it deserves, try that, it’s my new favorite!

Australia has different trademark laws than the US. They can have stores with the same name and logo that has nothing to do with the correlating store in the US. My husband used to work for Payless Shoes and was part of the team that worked on the purchase of Payless Shoes Australia. The Australian company had the exact same logo as the US Payless but sold completely different shoes. Maybe this what allows for the dupe packaging??
Love the channel!! I’m from Australia and MCoBeauty has some hits and misses. I’m a fan of both brands and will say some MCoBeauty products are better than Charlotte Tilbury but there are some products that I prefer Charlotte Tilbury over MCoBeauty.
I can’t LIVE without glow recipe. The watermelon line smells amazing and makes me feel so luxe. 15:26 I use the spray every day. You turned me into a scent freak and I now I surround myself with beautiful scents. lol
I really like the blush drop in pink. It is light pink, almost pastel/milky pink, which I was looking for a really long time. It is pretty good for fair skin looking for white base pink.
I was browsing their website, and they have a dupe of Maybelline Instant Age Rewinder, legit EXACT packaging, but for double the price. Same thing with the ELF brow pencil. It's insane.

I live in rural Australia 🇦🇺 & I have to say i have used a lot of ( what was originally called Model Co) MCO Beauty products over the years & have really loved a lot of their Makeup. It is in our supermarkets now , & that has been an absolute godsend to so many people over here! 🤍
I agree not all of MCO Beauty products are amazing, but i personally don’t think any Beauty companies (high or low end ) make products that everyone will love. 😊🤍

I do love a good dupe. Cannot afford the higher prices for luxury brands so it’s fun to play with /try out dupes. But exact carbon copy of packaging not necessary 😄
I think the fact that people make products for people who can’t afford Dior or Charlotte Tilbury and be able to give them that experience of luxury makeup is great. If these luxury brands are already successful and blessed then why bother going after a brand that’s duping them. Not cool.

You can only patent packing if you have a super innovative design. Nothing CT uses for packaging is innovative. Most packaging is up for grabs.

i never thought i'd see the day you discovered this brand. I love Mco Beauty, I’ve been buying from this brand since 2002. Gosh, makeup in Australia can be extremely expensive especially with cost of living in Sydney 😭 a CT lipstick is $54.00 (yikes)!

I’m Australian so MCoBeauty is a lot cheaper here. The difference in pricing is kind of like what shopping for ELF is in Australia, double the price of the US 🙄

Kroger’s prices are always high. Lol. A lot of these products launched early last year. These companies generally have IT Specialists & legal teams to make sure they are not infringing on major brands patents or trademarks. I worked in Intellectual Property law (Dallas) always a fine line. Also conglomerates like L’Oreal own Maybelline, NYX, Lancôme, Urban Decay, YSL, IT Cosmetics, etc… So generally view dupes as minor competitors & know legal fees will exceed any settlement reached. In Australia, we can almost always get MCO for 40-50% off which makes it super duper affordable for good makeup products!
Makeup is expensive here in Australia. Drugstore foundations are hitting the $30 - $40 price points for us here now. Concealers $20. It's painful.
