Fuel today. (Vaporization / boiling point was affected). What a topic you mentioned. Recalling, (memory), when our state legislated unleaded fuel, along with octane levels. (When I noticed fuel delivery trouble). One industry changes, (gasoline producers, due to a gov. regulation - lead deletion, octane reduced), the automobile engineers did not change the fuel delivery systems (no retrofitting of existing engine parts), at least not right away). (Years later - early renditions of TB-FI on some passenger vehicle, GM engines)… Got mechanics scrambling for answers. Thanks for memory revisits with your builds. 👍👍👍

I'm sure your gonna get a lot of advice. I just installed FiTech Ultimate LS. 1. watch all of their videos for your model 2. don't rely on self learning. Go in and setup your timing and fuel curve on your own or you may wind up with a base line that is WAY too lean. 3. Pay close attention to how FiTech sends the initial burst of fuel when you turn the key on. I found it was too much gas once the engine was warm. Had I not watched their videos on tuning (others have posted valuable content too) I would have never achieved the success I have so far. Hope your throttle body woks as well as my rail system. So far I'm a fan of FiTech systems. Their tech support has been pretty good; but their videos provide way more insight. Good luck and I'll be rooting for you...

My Brother-in-law's El Camino runs a FiTech system. The thing that's hard to get used to, is not needing to pump the gas several times to start the engine.
One of my all time favorite cars, I'm glad I found this content.
I had a 94 GMC SIERRA with a 5.7l and a TBI. I wish I would have never sold it.
gotta say, my initial opinion on Patreon of the look at the color on that unit was tepid, but seeing it in the context of the rest of the car? Oh yeah, baby, DIS GON B GUD. Love the full setup they've sent your way - didn't realize how important something as simple as the gas tank was so important in the FI dept. Good stuff.

I love the consistency that EFI can bring. Just plz don't put digital gauges in the car. Hide the controller in a center console or something close by.

I rebuilt the Rochester Quadrajet on my Olds and through trial and error, got it running right. I burned my vacuum lines once doing it, but I was 18/19 years old messing around learning...

keep us posted!! FItech has a long bad rep with customer service and failing units. I know they sent this unit, im sure they may have "fixed" the issues (ecu, controler, interface, connections)... if you encounter any failures or short comings.... please post.
Holley's sniper fell into the same situation....the sniper 2 apparently seems to most bugs worked out...let us know..

I hope you have more luck than I did when I installed mine. I got tired of the junk sent it back bolted on an edelbrock 4 barrel on my 70 dodge dart

It’s cool you got what you wanted, but I would have stuck with a carburetor it fits the theme better , and to me it would be easier and simpler . But I hope it works beautifully for you. 😊
1 question, it comes with 1 O2 sensor how do you go about setting up if you have dual exhaust? Would you just read 1 bank and it would just do the same fuel trims on both engine banks? Just curious.
Carb was the original direction, but with all the heavy modifications and upgrades done i felt this also fit the theme!

I’m not a fan of rubber fuel line even if it is stainless. It’s to bulky I bent all mine out of 3/8 nickel copper line

Any reason you went with a carb efi versus a intake with efi at each cylinder. I have a holley efi on my 64 convertible but wish I had gone with the whole intake system so it would dump fuel at each cylinder.
Since I was already headed carb direction with the intake, I thought it'd be the easiest way to convert. + I've had my eye on this kit for YEARS so it's perfect timing!

@@rookie__pilot that totally makes sense I am curious to see how it compares to my holley because it’s nice but has a lot of weird quirks im troubleshooting but according to the holley forums it’s normal. The sniper 2 is the new improvement supposedly but I don’t want to spend another grand “upgrading” lol. Definitely looking to see how your unit turns out. And also how that other project go. How much gas do you actually save by switching to a EFI Fitech?? What if you did the 69 mustang kit that way you get 20 or 22 gallon gas tank .
