Times has been changing, and i now find myself living in Amsterdam.
I am still a street musician, still playing Dylan covers, still writing songs and living on the edge of society. I have a new band called "Subterranean Street Society"

I saw you on Saturday the 9th. My first time in Amsterdam and the time i watched you sing was the most memorable. I wanted to tell you this but didnt, but your voice stopped time. People stopped their lives to listen to you gift. It was truly an amazing experience and i thank you for making my time so memorable!
I have been listening to this song for ten years now. Sometimes it takes me a while to find. But then I remember "Amsterdam busker times they are a changin", and here I am once again. Not just the best cover, but the best version I've ever heard. The ending gives me chills/ teary eyes every single time. Thank you for moving me every single time.

This song is a battlecry. A battlecry against the static death of the individual, against desperation, as well as the notion of privilege and the security it promises. I like how the singer here takes some gravitas to get ready to sing it out into space, how he fixes his hat, as a soldier would fix his helmet before battle. He may not have convinced someone to stop and listen, but the world is a conductor of acoustical resonance, and someone or something did listen. However it is not the intention of this song to make someone stop - its' intention is to make people shutter in their souls and it will only be heard by those, who have been shattered, but then it will uplift them, it will let them see, what they couldn't and it will them make go on. They will understand, that the downfall of those, who feel secure is as certain as the passing of the season and that there is hope for a summer, that never ends, if you are willing to fight for it - again and again.

The sound of one hand clapping (at the end), which, when you think about it, is the perfect testament to everything this song is about. Love the irony.
Reminds me of that video with the legendary Joshua Bell playing violin in the Washington D.C. metro. People pass by, oblivious, distracted, trying to get somewhere. A handful stop to listen, but if anyone recognizes him, they don't seem to acknowledge, until the end.
The strength of your voice, Louis, is extraordinary. I did notice the pretty regular " clinking sound" as you're playing which sounds like coins tossed into your guitar case or whatever's at your feet. I hope so, anyway.
