Is wild that such a detailed diagnosis can be derived from such a minor observation. Fascinating stuff!
it only takes a minor translation to do your ACL, so minor observation too 🤭
I have learned so much from your channel. Thank you doc! The fact we can get this type of content for free is wild. What a time to be alive.
God ur gay
The speed of making the video and all the information in it it's just crazy. Great job!!
Neymar is very talented, its honestly saddening seeing him always injured, because of his injuries he never reached the level he was supposed to smh
His problem is his lifestyle.
The prince that never became king
Not an athlete. More concerned about top models that he will meat later tonight
No doubt he’s talented. However, gotta disagree when it comes to his achievements. He never reached the level he was suppose to because he doesn’t take care of his body - he doesn’t care about working out, dieting, practicing. All he cares is partying, drinking and his buddies. With that kind of lifestyle no talent overcome the lack of preparation.
exactly. look at his belly fat and how much weight he gains from every vacation. He simply adds too much pressure and fatigue to his knees and muscle.@@13thHeaven
Nice explanation and analysis.
I had the exact same situation and injury on my left knee as Neymar.
Oh damn do you have a video talking about it? Since you post, I'd like to watch more about the journey lol
My brother is on physiotherapy after exact ACL and meniscus tear
football is a dangerous sport.
@@mehdielabdaoui1955I know true
How much time you need to recovery
Tore ACL on my right knee and left knee after 9years... Football can give you so much joy but a lot of pain. Wishing speedy recovery for Neymar.
i tore my acl and never really understood it all on the medical side of things , but this video was explained so perfectly and finally gave me an understanding
Will never be the same term of speed s especially
@@yannolove1335what
You tore your acl and didnt try to google and learn about your inury until this video lol??
@hysehauzzzzy i did plus I
have the basic understanding already of a acl tear but this video made things extremely clear
did u get surgery?
It took me 8 years to recover from my ACL year, but 7 of those years was me being clueless that my knee was actually torn. Finally 7 years later I went to the doc and ran a MRI on my knee to confirm my ACL was gone. I had surgery and 1 year later I’m new again! I can run without my knee giving out 👍🏻
how are you able to still walk? i guess humans are really resilient.
and that humans don't need surgery often unless you play a sport
@@officialzacadammorrisonprobably slightly/partially torn. That’s why Jurrien Timber was actually playing at the beginning of the second half for Arsenal, he passed the Lachlan’s test because he still had a range of motion as a regular person as his ACL wasn’t fully torn.
@@natspatsman said timner u defo don’t know how to spell
@@alexm3792 ok thanks
Biggest load of crap. One of the most painful injuries in sports and you don't even feel the need to have it checked out. Did you just lay in bed for 7 years or what?
Great analysis and video as always. Watching at regular speed it does not look like it should be too bad but your breakdown is always spot on. Hopefully he can recover.
Considering he’s had enough shares of injuries and being a bit delicate I’d say this injury may ruin his career going forward as he is already 30 yrs old
His career was already ruined since the day he left Barcelona
@@matheussantana9732thats probably true.
@@matheussantana9732well said

Thanks doc. You explanation is so concise.
Amazing video brother…
In portuguese, as we would say it in Brasil… we would say that “ele tá fú!” Unfortunately it’s sad to see him getting repeatedly injured… we wish him a speedy recovery…
This channel is a rollercoaster for me. On the one hand, I hate watching athletes getting injured, but on the other hand, the content is so damn interesting. Good stuff!
Cool to have football/soccer injuries explained. Very uncool that the event happened to get explained. Can't imagine he'd take the time to come back from it.
No way Dr. Halloween is coming. Every single year. Same months injury. 😅
Torn ACL and Meniscus 💔 injuries and bad decisions stopped him from becoming possibly the greatest player ever 😢😢
Brow, I was watching the game before the injury. Left to take a shower and after the shower I looked at my phone and received your notification. I got informed by you.
You're fast brow!!
Great video, I’m impressed that you were able to do such a great video in just short time !!!
Parabens pelo conteudo de otima qualidade, abraços do Brasil.
Your videos are so well done and interesting. Thank you.
Wishing him a speedy recovery 🙏
No way Dr. Halloween is coming. Every single year. Same months injury. 😅
An ACL injury won’t be a speedy recovery
About 9 months minimum, 12 at max
people trolling him for getting injured all over the Internet, only the ones who play for a career can understand the pain and heartbreak
another great video!
i would love to see you do a video on kirby dach's recent season ending knee injury
Amazing work Doc
It sucks that neymar is always getting injured. Also I have a suggestion for an injury video which was Chris Basham’s scary injury a few weeks ago. If you could make a video on that then it would be great since I would like to know how it happened.
Plant. Twist. Pop. ACL. 😢
Thanks for the detailed review, Doc!
Another great video, Doc!! Before I asked you if you could do an analysis on Clint Malarchuk’s injury from back in the day, but then I realized that you’d probably get demonetized for that, so could you please cover Samuel Savoie’s injury from the other day?? They said something about his Femur. If you could do that, it’d be awesome!! Best wishes!!! 😁
Brilliant work Doctor Sutterer! Perfectly explained throughout the video motion of the injury as it occurred. I had an ACL tear playing soccer too and used the hamstring graft to repair. My doctor said that using my own tissue would promote better proprioception nerve regeneration vs. cadaver graft.
I did the same to my knee about 5 months ago, never felt pain like it. Luckily I didn’t have surgery but I haven’t played football properly ever since
Please cover more soccer stuff! I love your content, but I’m a soccer fan first, more than NFL or NBA.
I’ll do my part to share this stuff in soccer-related forums if you keep producing it!! Thank you!!
great explanation! I wonder if the moment earlier in the game, where he also hurt is left leg in a duel, has something to do with it. like some little damage to some tissue which hinders a fast enough neurological signal an therefore the muscles are contracted a few milliseconds to late and therefore more pressure ends on the acl.
I dont know the exact time in the game it happened but I saw it on a highlight video.
Great analysis 🙏🏽
Wow. Amazing explanation doctor. I thought it wasn't a major injury. Looking at you explaining that slow mo of knee popping it 🥶. Great observation.
Great vid subbed
Wow, a health science video I was able to follow along and actually understand something for once. 🙏
Very professional assessment, as often -if not always- Brian Sutterer was right 👍👍🙏🙏
Had the same injury a year ago, no surgery, just exercise. Stable but not able to bend the knee fully and prolly never will be able to again. Tearing the ACL sucks.
Fascinating analysis, and evidently spot on.
Thank you for your explanation, I've been trying to understand what happened for weeks. I was watching the game when it happened, and here in Brazil, we have this joke that Neymar falls a lot, but I've just saw him screaming in pain once, when he had a spinal fracture in the 2014 World's Cup, in a match against Colombia. In both occasions it was like I could feel his pain through the screen.
I hope he makes full recovery, he is very talented 🇧🇷🙏🏻♥️
Great video and explanation Dr.
John Stones of Man City just got injured today (ankle) v Everton and there were some excellent angles of the tackle. Wondering if you’d be able to do a breakdown when more info on his injury comes out? Thanks!
My gf studies medicine and I really want to get her to watch your videos, they're so entertaining and educative, thank you so much for your service, this is invaluable for people like her.
Great Video! It has been confirmed both a ACL and Meniscus tear, I suffered the exact same thing and currently am 2 weeks removed from surgery.
If you meant you’re 2 weeks post surgery, how are you? I just got diagnosed with a full ACL tear and am getting surgery in December. Terrified
@@czycamfuck that, dont get the Surgery
This guy can't catch a break! Terrible injury it has been diagnosed ACL + Medial Meniscus tear!
Sad day for Brazil Soccer Team!
😪😪😪
Hi Brian I was wondering if you can add a mix of rugby union and rugby league content on your channel I think that would be really helpful and amazing.
Thanks Doc!
Could you evaluate Kirby Dach ACL+MCL injury last saturday ? I have a hard time finding how this motion created his injury!
Quick and concise
Nice explanation Doc.. please can you analyze Spain's Gavi's recent ACL injury that will keep him out for at least 10months. It looks simple at first but it's one hell of an injury for the young lad.
Torn alc and meniscus. I hope he is able to recover and bring joy back to many people
Excellent video very well explained but Im sooo dumb...
3:15 snapping foward was the issue or when it snapped back?
Thanks in Advance 😊
Ok i get it now... When it went foward is the issue.
Ill leave my comment to keep engagement for this video.
Given it was confirmed to be an ACL this was spot on. Good work.
This is unfortunate for Al Hilal Club. I wish you a speedy recovery
look at how crazy the movement is from the uruguay player in this clip too; soccer is a tough sport
Aw doc I really love your videos. But I was really hoping not to see one for Neymar 😢☹️ he’s had such bad luck past few years I really hope he could bounce back
So unfortunate for Neymar he can't catch a break from injuries
Thanks for referring to ⚽️ as football, very much appreciated 😊
brazil vs Uruguay broke my heart again, it’s every year they target neymar and just foul him because that’s the only thing they can do. shame to see how much brazil has fallen
Thanks doc, I have the same injury and now I'm waiting for the surgery e.e
when s surgery? I'm vvvv nervous for mine
@@CK-qt8pz My operation is 3th November's 🥶💀 I was running fast with the ball and I fall with all the the weight at the ground. All of this, in front of the goalkeeper LOL.
I broke my ACL and injured my meniscus for a stupid fall :&
Goodluck with surgery, I have ACL surgery coming up in December, also nervous as could be
He's done. Grabbed that Saudi bag and dipped
It's sad. Once they reach their 30s, their bodies start to go down hill and the body is prone to injury.
Not cristiano Ronaldo 😀
Its not sad its life , we are humans. Soccer star or average joe the older we get the less reliable our bodies become. Hopefully its not as bad as it looks for neymar
@@sackmasterreed it’s bad bro he tore his acl he’ll be out at least 6 months I can tell
Neymar had been injured like every year. Some people just don’t have strong bodies
@@youdontknowme3318don’t worry guys, he can tell
Whenever your knee buckles and you hear a pop and he falls straight to the ground it's more than likely it's a ACL tear plus meniscus
What a great breakdown, I wonder if pro athletes are trained to avoid certain movements that increase the likelihood of an acl tear
They are trained to strech and do the proper physiotherapy, stretching, and warm up needed to reduce the chances of injury. Also to get massages to losen up the muscles and exercises which strengthen all the muscles around your joint which help to support and stabilize those areas.
Can't really train to avoid an ACL tear. You can improve coordination, balance and muscular strength thus reducing your chances of a major injury, however one wrong turn or if enough force is applied it really doesn't matter how much you train--the ligament is tearing.
This might be the end of him he already didnt look good after that ankle surgery
Dr Sutterer as a soccer fan I always love your quick reaction videos❤ would you react to Alex Greenwood England women's head clash in the nations league game vs Belgium. I wonder what checks are done on the pitch in regards to concussion protocol that green lights continue of play or being stretched off
You called it Doc!!
ACL is the footballers nightmare.
I am also on post operation 2 months after ACL reconstruction surgery.
It will take around a year for recovery.
Me too, 4 months post op
Same here, left knee. Been 7 months, I am running again slowly but it just doesn't feel 100% right. Still afraid to play football, tenis etc..
Hi guys, I'll do the operation next week e.e
Is It painfully?
I have fear
how was op? how was post op? I'm vvvvv scared my op is in jan. can u bear weight on it right after op? I want to go to the loo independently lol. legit qn tho.
@@nicolomoretti6816 The operation is not painful, but the few days after operation are difficult but within 2 weeks you will start feeling good and proper physiotherapy is required
Can you please do an video explanation on how Kirby Dach who plays for Montreal Canadiens tore both his ACL and MCL in a game this past Saturday vs Chicago Blackhawks?
Every video is a free medical lesson G!!
i had the exact same non contact acl tear on my left knee playing soccer on turf. was through on goal and boom im on the ground in the worst pain of my life. praying for neymar
Ouch that looks awful
2:34 didn't even know that thing existed... thanks doc
Thanks for all the updates throughout NFL, NBA, MLB, FIFA Brian. We thank you for your service especially me. 🙏
Bizarre. It looks like nothing at regular speed. But slowed down... Christ it looks horrific. What Bad luck. Holy shit.
good info. But WHY did it happen? too much force? landed badly?
Good content
I recently tore my ACL and miniscus too, I had a bucket handle miniscus tear which means that it folded over on itself. My surgery was on 10/3. Im now going to physical therapy. It’s very sad that a player of this level getting injured like that. My injury also happened by football by the way⚽️
Sir Why is the meniscus tear or rupture so hard to recover ?
This freaking happened to me in 2018 and it’s been so hard to come back from it, but it’s possible
hi I just tore my acl too very sad is there hope post op? is post op bad? how are the incisions?.
football clubs should hire this guy. neymar's career was over long ago
spot on
Time to retire if you can’t even jump and land
I did a similar thing. MCL and meniscus....because the MCL was missed for 2 years and not healed right my ACL stretched and started to tear! 11 ops later Inc a botched ACL and 2 botched MCL ops I'm doing better. I think alot of elite pros train like athletes now where as years ago footballers seemed a different build. There weren't as many severe knee injuries.
So unlucky😢
Since he left Barcelona he has basically been a walking peanut brittle 😂
Bcoz after that he met thousand of fool peoples like u 😂
Semoga lekas sembuh ney, aku suka main sepak bolanya
How to prevent it? Still trying to understand how what looks like a normal challenge for the ball got him off balance and tore the ACL.
stop playing football is a good prevention. Football, ski are very dangerous for lca.
No way Dr. Halloween is coming. Every single year. Same months injury. 😅
DOC! NEYMAR STILL GOT 5 more years of productivity!
I thinks that's a wrap for Neymar
Me watching the video with an ACL Tear 👀
Força Neymar
pfft lmfao
Hey doc how can we prevent acl injury or meniscus injury ?
Not a doc, but doing now ACL rehab, you need to build hamstring, quad and hip strength. Also exercises for balance
Why does the tibia pop back into place when his foot comes off the ground if the ACL is torn?
See there are a total of 4 ligaments holding the knee in its place... But the ACL is the most important one for stability but the other Ligaments (MCL & LCL) which connects the Tibia to the Femur bone will help it to pop back... in its original position
I don’t think he’ll come back from this one. It’s a shame.
I’m going through the same injury and it sucks🤦🏻♂️
I was wondering if you could speak on a possible return for Aaron Rodgers before the end of the season or postseason
what happened to me was that the front of my knee cracked and swelled up, i hope it's not acl or something worse. Im not playin more than a months and i came to team training and got myself injury again
I don’t even know why im not surprised about another injury
Same thing happened to Courtois, Militao, Timber, Gavi, Alaba etc
Ouch 😢
Will he come back?? Will return???
