As a foster mom this makes my heart happy but also so sad. Putting him in the best place for the time being but the sadness confusion that he’s feeling breaks my heart. I’m worried about you two especially if they move him for whatever reasons ( another home/ or back home). All 3 of you are in our prayers.
I too struggled with infertility, and what made it worse was that my ex husband was not very supportive and abusive...so any chance of conception was diminished by the stress. I have always known I would be a foster mom, but thought perhaps after retirement, but that was not God's plan. I received my first foster placement in February... A 5 day old baby boy. Check out the dock a tot. We purchased one when our daughter was 3 months old. She has slept through the night ever since.

Adopted all three of our kiddos from the foster care system. Congrats Love watching this. It’s an amazing journey and brought me back to our first placement.
You will never forget this date! My daughter came to us on March 8, 2017 (at 5 weeks old) and the moment I saw her I knew she would change my life!
We have quite a few friends who are foster parents, and the stories they share, though sometimes heartbreaking, are so very rewarding. Some have even adopted their placements. Four months is such a fun age. I know you are so excited to have him there with you :).
So sweet! I wish someone told me to regularly see a therapist when we first became foster parents. First placements are very hard. It's incredibly hard when they go back to bios especially for couples that don't have bio kids. It's not only rough for the kids, but the foster parents as well. We've had 17 placements and have seen a lot. Just remember that the goal of foster care is reunification unless all rights are terminated. We were new foster parents once and our hearts broke when our first placement went home. He didn't go back to a good situation and that was super hard. Foster parents don't have much of a say in anything. God bless you all. If you need any help with anything don't hesitate to message me.

It'a funny how different yet how similar things are in different situations. Your experience on that first day sounds so much like our first day home from the hospital with our daughter when she was 1 day old. That transition seems to have certain universal things that happen!

I'm the oldest biological childcare of a family that has fostered 27 children. All of the babies went back to family members after a while, some were right from the hospital until they were a year old, some until 6 years old but they never stayed. In Canada you are not allowed to foster with the intent to adopt... They call it "poaching". And the goal is always to reunite with bio family. So interesting the differences.
