- In this video, we performed an oil service on a 2024 BMW X7 M60i (CLAR LG G07 platform). This car is equipped with the S68 twin turbo 4.4L V8 engine.
Engine oil capacity: About 10.5 to 10.75L
Torque specs:
Oil filter housing: 40NM
Oil filter housing drain plug: 5NM
Oil pan drain plug: 8NM
Engine oil (consult dealer who will check based on your car's VIN): BMW 83-21-5-A2A-F99 Twin Power SAE 0W-30 Longlife-01FE
Oil filter kit: BMW 11-42-5-A33-C43 (includes an oil filter housing o-ring, and the oil filter housing drain plug, which is a single use item)
Oil pan drain plug: BMW 7-14-5-A38-759 (this is considered a single use drain plug, so it must be replaced every oil service)
Thanks for your part number will do mine 2025 x5 m60i at 3k miles without dealer!
yep thanks for your video i will do mine 2025 x5 M60i manualy at 3k miles without dealer lolz
Great video. Nice details. Might want to look into Amsoil (I do not work for them). Also, I am not a specialist. But your oil looks a little too dark. Did you wait for 10k? I change mine at about 5-6k (miles). Many people speak against waiting to change the oil at the recommended 10k miles interval. Good luck! I have the N63.
nice work adding the part number and torque specs.👍
Thanks 👍
Love the video…detailed and good explanation. Thanks
Thank you! Glad you liked it!

What kind of ramps are you using?
Are you using oil 10w60?
I’m pretty sure 0w-30 was used. The dealer sent the owner the oil that the car called for. I do recall the dealer sending the oil, filter, and drain plugs in a box labeled as 10w-60 though. I’m imagining they reused an empty box to send us the stuff needed for the oil service.
Yep, it says 10w60 on the top of the label; you can see it as he is pouring it ~ 5:24
Wouldn't this vehicle still be under motor plan?
It is. The problem is the nearest dealer is 411 miles away, and to get there would involve a 10hr ferry ride. The other unfortunate thing - the ferry isn’t running for another month or so. The owner elected to have the oil service done here rather than wait and let it become overdue.
Wow! It looks much cooler compared to the commercials.
