Brokeback was so assbackwards. Gay guy here and I can tell you from experience gay men don't act like what they try to portray in the film. No gay man is just going to run off and get married, then turn around and stoop some dude. A friendship would have been established over a long period of time first. Maybe some sexual experimentation. But after getting married we'd break it off or not get married to begin with. In other words, boundaries. And if we did feel the need to meet up again, it wouldn't be making out at the bottom of a stairwell with our significant other directly upstairs.
Actually America has roughly 5 million gays out of the closet and roughly 5 million still in so like 2% of men r secretly gay and will get married lol watch patrice its cold out here video he talks about guys looking for secret dick lmaooo
The making out at the bottom of the stair was also ment to show there need for each other, danger of it making it hotter , story telling bc you can only show so much so small things like these can show a connection quickly outside of the wilderness
"Brokeback Mountain - The film received widespread critical acclaim, with high praise for the performances of Ledger and Gyllenhaal, and emerged as a commercial success at the box-office, grossing over $178 million worldwide against its $14 million budget." At the 78th Academy Awards, Brokeback Mountain was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and won three awards for Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Original Score.
Dude what?? There were insane rumors surrounding this movie. I remember all my friend's, our girlfriends all wanted to see it and the shit that was being said was way worse than the actual movie. After I saw it, I just thought it was a shitty movie. Boring at least.
@@puremercury Well, you probably wouldn't have , would you? Not in that environment. People in film school were probably excited for the debut. Regular dudes, dragged in by the girlfriends, didn't want to see it. Hence the wild rumors.
@@exspiravit6920 I would think someone clued into the Hollywood scene would have heard such rumors. Also, who the hell would believe that Ang Lee of all people would have explicit gay sex in a movie (with two straight lead actors) and that it would get wide release? The only things I heard back then were "It's the fake arthouse cinema from South Park!"
It’s funny hearing them say Heath Ledger was past his prime pre Dark Knight
04:12 I LOVE Patrice misremembering Jake Gyllenhaal’s name
17:04 Opie describes himself
18:14 "I'm buttering the popcorn" fucking classic Anthony

I don't remember there being any rumors that there were going to be "hardcore gay sex scenes."
We had very different standards back then. Implied butt sex = hardcore gay porn.
