Love your videos! Thanks. I have tons of tapes not digitized. They are shot well so I’m wondering if they will translate into digital at 1080p or even 4K?
Thanks
Hi Jeven, may I know if the "All Access Pass" applies to future courses on creatorfilmschool as well?
Is the canon 70d a good choice for entering the stock?
I shoot mostly for clients, what will be your advice on how to get stocks from these shoots to upload. Will I need to seek permission from clients? Thanks in advance
There are a few components to earn money with your camera. One plan I found which succeeds in merging these is the Hartlyn Photo Pro (google it if you're interested) it's the most helpful plan that I have ever seen. look at all the great information .
Thank you so much Dovey. Individual Shots 5-59 seconds long, No cuts or multiple angles in each, Keep shots around 30 seconds, Trim clips to the useable bits, Upload multiple angles as separate shots, Vary your shots from one location or concept, Remove all audio from shots, Shoots in 1080p or higher, Try to shoot 4K as much as possible, Shoot slow motion, Timelapse or Real Time, Avoid noise in your shots, Color grade shoots so they "pop", Look for trending topics, Shoot footage with people in it
Thank you!!!
When he said shooting with people needs a release what does he mean by that? A permission from that people in footage?
@@hisokiss a release form to prevent the people you film from suing or giving you grief in the future if your relationship with them breaks down. It's a standard actor release form.
This was a great breakdown that answered many of my top questions. Big thanks!
Got a new subscriber bro! This was really helpful! keep up the good work!
Btw, I loved those quick glimpse of New Zealand among your travel videos, reminded me of my own trip! :)
Great subject matter Jeven, thank you for all this great information!
Thank You! Have you started uploading yet?
Jeven, I was literally just talking with The NYC Couple a few hours ago about how I need to do more with stock footage. Great timing 😂 Black Box sounds awesome. I'm definitely going to check it out as soon as things are back, up and running. Thanks!
Awesome! Tell the NYC Couple I say hello! Let me know if you have any questions with blackbox.
hows it going after 4 months
Did you sell anything? :D
Good work done. The explanation kept me glued from start to finish ... I am sharing this to my friends to watch... Great job
Thanks so much for the work you do. Really good info and you go into the details that lots of others leave out.
Hello Jeven! great video! best regards
Just a quick question: If I submit a clip to a stock footage site and have already used it in a video of mine that's uploaded to youtube, will I encounter problems? Thanks a lot!
I think you won't encounter any problem as first: you're the owner of that footage and two: before or after uploading to stock agencies you can be just a customer who just bought and used the same footage as everybody else :)
@@rosskaran9448 i like the last reason you gave
Depends which site you upload it to
6:55 He answered that question.
did you actually watch the video? :D
Thanks Jeven. So much valuable information, and a lot of key points. amazing work
That shot sequence at 7:46 ! Awesome !!! Thanks for all the work and the advice.
Super helpful thank you! I had thought about stock when I first started getting into film (not that long ago. I’m still a newbie ha) and thought it wouldn’t be worth it. This changes everything! About to go on a long bicycle trip abroad so tons of opportunity to shoot! Thanks again. Subscribing now!
😀😀😀
Jeven, this video opened my eyes and is extremely valuable!
Points you made I had no idea but will help me greatly.
I have signed up to BlackBox and now will subscribe to your terrific channel.
Very best to you always!
Cheers, Pete
Thanks Pete! If you have any questions about selling stock or anything filmmaking feel free to reach out anytime!
Jeven Dovey Thank you so much very kind of you.
So glad I found your channel!
Very True. 👍
Hey guys has it been profitable for you so far?
I'm just about to get into submitting my footage but I don't know if it will be profitable, I'd love to hear from anyone with experience and if they're able to consider stock as a viable income. Warm regards :)
@@JevenDovey hey I have a question. Say my camera shoots in 1080p but I have a software that upscales it to 4k or 8k. Can I advertise it as the higher resolutions or do I have to go by the original camera specs?
A very informative and helpful video. Just what I was looking for as a beginner. Much appreciated and thank you very much.
Thanks Jeven for the generosity on this info
Awesome tips dude! you answered the remaining questions that I have! THANKS FOR SHARE IT!
Awesome!!! Hope you find success with selling stock!
Another great vídeo.
Thank You!
Concise, clear, and informative video. Thanks for this!
Jeven, this "class" is really amazing! I am so happy to have found your channel, had been stuck since last night lol :)
Thanks!
Hi Jeven. Thank you for the info you provide! Selling footage is all new to me. As you have more experience and a professional approach: I am struggling to decide whether to send my high fps footage as slow motion or not. For example: send a 50p slowed down half speed as a 25p slow motion. After some reflection, I opted to send the original high framrate footage instead and allow the buyer to decide if he or she wants to slow down or not. A slow motion however looks better in the preview and might attract more buyers. Do you have some insight on peoples preferences? This only applies to footage where slow motion makes sense of course. Like a flower swaying in the breeze, waves, bees etc
Hi Jevan - thanks for the video. It’s really helpful. Apologies if someone has already asked this or if I missed it somewhere - but can I get your opinion on framerates. I’m in a 25fps Market so most of my back catalog will be 25fps. But if I go out to shoot specifically for stock - is it more valuable/profitable to shoot in 24fps? Or does it matter. The US is a big market - but so is Europe? Any guidance would be appreciated. And thanks again.
I like Jeven's style. He explains things well and doesn't put me to sleep like some youtubers. Third time I have watched this clip.
Wow this video has been eye opener, I had a lot of footage from travels that I had never edited but making small clips for stock has been fascinating, I look the footage with new eyes! thanks for the video, Cheers from Costa Rica!
To what extent should you get a release ? What if you take a footage of a huge crowd ? Or a timelapse of a lot of places with numerous brands getting seen ?
I have the same question
General rule of thumb is, if you imagined yourself in that crowd and could recognise yourself then you need a licence. Picture you can blur faces slightly and get away with more.
BlackBox represent ✊
just had to say thanks... i signed up for your course, took a trip to Guatemala and shot footage on my GoPro Hero 7, edited the footage and 2 months later I got my first sale on Blackbox. thanks so much and I'm glad I signed up under your link!
Thank you. I have so many videos from travel
Wow, had no idea you could sell stock footage
Wow great and useful video. I have recently been collecting broll for things, stuff with my son or friends in it also which will be very useful. Even though I only recently got into Videography this might be a decent way to recover some of the investment. How about stock photography though? I heard its indecline? I have been into photography way longer.
I wouldnt bother getting into stock photography unless you have a ton of content ready to sell. The prices are so low on photos. Video however is still super high and theres a huge demand for it. Your 4k clips can sell anywhere from $100-$200 a shot. Its crazy.
thank you Javen for these valuable information and keep going on.
Hope you find success with stock!
I got so many Timelapse videos on my phone , I’m going to upload them and see what happens.
Thank you again for the advice, you rock !!
Hey, thanks for this video. I have a question. If there are people in my footage but you cannot recognize the faces as they are far or I shoot them from the back - do I still need to have a release? Thanks, Bartek
Would like to know this too! I always assumed if the person's face isn't visible than it's okay.
How long does footage take to appear in your "contribute" tab after you've uploaded via FTP?
Theres no set time. It could take a day
Very thorough beginners guide. This is very hepful. Thanks Jeven!
Glad it helped!
amazing, amazing, amazing! so many great information!
best looking squirrel, hahaha
Do I have to pay the people in my clips or do I just say, hey, I'm shooting stock videos and would like to use you and need a release?
Thanks Jeven...great tutorial! I've only just found your channel...Lots of great info and ideas! Cheers.
Thanks! Theres a ton of tutorials on my channel. Let me know if you're looking for anything specific
Thanks Jeven Dovey it is really helpful , will go through my hard drive and check the footage ,
One critical question about selling stock footage. Which fps has more potential of selling in stock market?
I suggest 30fps or 60fps. You can conform it to 24 fps if you need to but you can't conform 24fps to 30fps.
I've been new to BB Jeven. I think it would be best to have tutorials on how to upload a stock footage since it requires that FTP server like Filezilla and once I downloaded it, my pc crashes.
Working on those tutorials next
Thanks man! Just started in this world and I was trying to figure out the things you explained so clearly!
Glad it helped!
Excellent video Jeven !!!!
I will give it a try :)
Awesome let me know how your experience is!
Can I sell amateur footage from DJI spark for example?
Yes, I have a ton of Spark footage up as stock :)
And have you ever sold some? :D
I just want to know if I have some chance (y)!
Also, couldn't you make tutorial how to use blackbox and explain some terms? As a beginner it's really confusing for me so I don't know what to do to upload my footage to marketplace :-(. Now my footage is in "CONTENT" tab for some reason and I can't move to next step.... I think that I did everything correcly, I uploaded footage thru filezilla client on mac..
Can you use people if you don't show their faces? Without a release? What if it's just from the waist down, or their hands or feet?
Yes. Only recognizable people need a release
Awesome. I'm guessing that includes back of head shots with no face showing? Like people walking away from you? Thanks so much.
what is a release?
A talent release form is a document that gives you permission to distribute and sell your video or film with the permission of your talent (the recognisable people that you've filmed)
Thanks Steven,
but is there some official form of that document (which blackbox accepts) or is that any signed paper that we can show if someone (company) asks if we have a release?
Great video, all of the questions I could possibly think of answered. Your the man!
Awesome!!!
🙏 Thank you. Your work is something special and I value it very much, Gracias 🇵🇷
Hey Guys! BlackBox got SLAMMED with new users. 3X!!! We did not expect this at all. It's a great thing but it had it's downsides. We are really sorry for any any issues. We are on it!! Please hang in there with us.
Yes i noticed this! Also i am new to the FTP uploading. It would be awesome to see a video on the steps to do that! Thanks
Download FileZilla. You enter host, username and password. Then you just drop your clips into the stock footage folder. its as easy as that
I have done that but i keep getting 550 permission denied and it won't upload.
Same problem here
If you are having issues please email info@blackbox.global and make sure you provide as much deatil as possible.
Nice video. But you’re just reading the Blackbox guide
Passe actually I’m not. I have a whole course I created on selling stock footage. I took parts from that and parts from that to make this video
This is the best video I saw of this topic bro.
Thank you so much for the video; I Learned a lot from it.
That intro felt so generic. And the patronizing voice oh my.
yep
Thank you! This was very helpful.
love this video, great job!
Thankyou for the very useful advice, this is something that I must get into. I don't travel much but live in the UK, so there is lots to see here.
Yes do it! You don't have to just shoot travel footage. There is a ton of stock footage that you can create with what you have around you
Thank u for this. Much needed help!
Glad it helped!
Great tip Jeven! Thanks!
Yoo!!! THANK YOU!! Have tons of footage from my South Africa trip years ago that I’ll be sifting through today. Im sure I’ll find some great stuff!
