Hi Kim, thank you so much for your video, I was having trouble making the side pockets, watching your video made it so easy to do.
I really enjoyed that you showed how to make the pattern and then how to actually sew it together in a full length pair of trousers. Lots of other tutorials just show how to make the front pocket using a shortened version of a pair of pants and then not showing how it looks when the back leg is added. Your tutorial is really complete and appreciate the detail you have provided in a very clear and concise way. Merci beaucoup!

I have been watching a lot of videos to re-introduce myself to sewing. Its been quite a few years since I made my clothes and I am starting to again. It is hard for me to buy a pattern to fit as I am short, a little bigger than I use to be and store bought patterns just don't fit. I love the way you teach us about making our own patterns, sewing and make it so easy to follow. Please keep the videos coming and sharing you expertise with us. Thank you. Thank you for your video. I had a pair a trousers that I wore all the time. Since they were loved so much I took them apart at the seams and made a pattern from them before tossing them. But when I started to sew a new pair I had forgotten how to sew the pockets. My trousers are just for everyday but they turned out so good I may wear them when I go out too.

Very good tutorial, I started to put pockets on slacks last year, didn't have a pattern, I couldn't figure why I could not put that set in pocket. I see I had misplaced the back pocket. Thank you for this tutorial helping me get back to sewing after years away.

Loved the video. Would like to see it again with different colored material and thread that would illustrate the how to of the process. Thought the how to, disappeared in the same color, but the finished product was awesome.

Very helpful. I want to start making more pants and master them trousers, although I'm sure it will take more than one trial and error to learn from. I ultimately want to make breeches, which that will be a 'super fantastique' assignment, since I have to hand sew everything currently. 😱😌🦁

This is so detailed and so helpful! Thank you! I've been working on elastic waistband culotte style pants with a side seam pocket, but I'd rather try the hip pocket like you're showing. I'm wondering-if my waistband is elastic, do you recommend measuring differently when making the pocket? I'm wondering if I use your measurements, if it would change anything when adding elastic. Thank you!

Very well explained. Better explained than in many purchased patterns. Suggestion: it would help beginners if you edited in at the beginning a glimpse of how the pocket looked at the end. Then go back and pick up the how-to. Going to go look at your other work now!

Thank you! This was very simple and easy to follow. Would you recommend a zigzag stitch instead of straight stitch if using a knit / stretch fabric?
Also, is a dart necessary on the trouser when using a stretch fabric if my waist is about the same size as my hips? I prefer to have elastic waistband (the smooth kind like on yoga pants) instead of a zip front.
