TLDR; Use your network provider's UCC reporting tool to reduce spam calls exponentially. TRAI didn't fail us, at least completely. DND was supposed to work if it wasn't for these greedy thick skulled telemarketers. But since these d!ckheads are flouting the laws, TRAI had to introduce UCC reporting tool. Once you register a UCC complaint on a telephone number, your Network provider forwards the details to the network provider of the spam caller. Based on this, the caller's network provider will initially warn the caller and will monitor his/her number. If repeated complaints are filed, the number will be suspend permanently.
True caller is successful because we need to know who the fuck is calling. It's like we don't want non sense headache of picking a call and have to bear the burden of answering the person whom we don't want to talk.

Now India govt is making some policy in telecom network so soon it will come then all networks should show their name while calling. The name will be the adhaar name which they have given while buying sim. Then Truecaller will suffer more

So when you agreed to their TnC ,they get access to your contacts , messages , and even location for some time....this data is afterthen sold to china....china buys this data for their personal developments and a report check on how people in india are intereted in and so on.....

Even if Google adds it's spam call identify feature, I can't imagine my phone without Truecaller. Even though it's not my default app, it will be one of the first apps I download in a new phone
In US, most of the mobiles are iphones which did not have as good a truecaller integration till quite some time. Moreover, large network providers in US have blocking services of their own (not sure if Indian service providers have such lists created on their end). Not sure abt other countries but this might be a possible reason for truecaller not gaining that much popularity in US as it gained in India
I think truecaller works on a simple model where they take data when users register , and more users brings more data that allows them to know about all other user's data as well.
It's not because of that actually Europe privacy policy is really strict and true caller access to your data Here in India no one cares easy to manipulate law not so strict so it's a really big hit 😊😊
I discovered true caller, found that I have to register myself to use it and if I register others will be able to know its me. So I uninstalled it and never turned back 😂😂

The thing I hate about true caller is that they will show your name irrespective of what name you name your account. Like oneday someone called me by my name asking if I want a loan. Tf 🙂
Started using Truecaller in 2013 and still using. In between, they started wallet and all, which was a bad decision. We only want a spam call blocker and caller id and nothing else.
My Android phone noties if a telecaller or spam caller is calling when i get a call.. Without true caller. But the spam callers have got smart and started calling from new numbers.
