    Now I have more knowledge about personal finance. I just subscribed to your channel. Big ups to everyone working effortlessly trying to earn a living while building wealth in this recession. I’m 45 and my husband is 51, we are both retired, no debts. We are planning on relocating to Thailand. We are currently living a frugal and financially savvy lifestyle and generating passive income even during this recessionary period. Our commitment to saving and investing in the financial market has enabled us to maintain this lifestyle and continue earning monthly passively through investment!!

      Congratulations on your early retirement, Interesting indeed! Currently, I am in dire need of investment advice or tips. Last year, I hesitated and failed to take any action until the year concluded. However, this year, I am determined to try something new, as I am very receptive to various investment ideas. I want to be retired in my forties or fifties.

      No problem at all! If you're seeking to earn substantial profits from your investment, I would suggest determining your investment horizon and implementing a long-term plan. I worked with Claire Martha Magalhaes to create a long-term investment strategy, and she assisted us in managing our investments while we focused on my jobs without any concerns.

    Sir, I am from India, even if you have a house and you want to retire at age 40 with 2 CR.. Not going to happen. If you have 2 Kids, you need 4 CR may be (no one actually can tell, but 2 CR is on shorter side). You need more for your retirement, kids education and marriage. I know many would say that we will not spend on kids marriage, but in reality there is no escape. Please earn well and come back with good corpus. Irrespective of coming back from abroad or being here in India, DO NOT retire with 2CR at your 40. You will get a rude shock later in your like..

    I think 1.5cr for flat is low.
    If you want to earn 30lpa then you need to work in metros. A 3.5bhk in 1.5cr in IT cities like Bangalore/Hyderabad would come with alot of compromises.
    A new construction of 3.5bhk of 2000+sft(super build up) with top builder and good interiors can touch 3cr.
    One can do it in 2cr by getting a 3bhk of ~1700sft plan and spending wisely (frugally and not declaring you are NRI) on interiors.
    For me 1M is the goal I aspire for but definitely it's very personal.

    One thing that I feel is not covered in this calculation is inflation and value of the saved 1 or 2 crores after 20 years during old age. Will it be sufficient for survival of husband and wife, marriage of children, higher education of children, any big maintenance work of house etc? In my opinion the whole calculation needs to be done considering history of inflation in India and how much value the money will have after 20 years. Are you equally happy now that you are there as you were while thinking about it in USA? Are there any major regrets? Do you miss US life in anyway? 2 CR IS NOTHING TODAY IN URBAN INDIA FOR RETIREMENT.
    The 1 Lakh monthly interest seems big amount , but considering inflation, it will hardly have any value after 10 years
    Also, you have not considered maintenance of parents.
    A major surgery or illness ( bhagwan na kare ) are also not considered.
    Those costs could go beyond 30-40 lakhs

    Great video Hemant! One question please: Considering the retirement scenario, if I use my 2Cr savings in FD to fund my monthly expenses, will not the value of 2Cr diminish with time due to inflation?
    So will 1Cr FD + 1Cr (studio apartments + mutual funds) be a more viable alternative? Please can you make a video and share your thoughts on different investment options as well?
    Many thanks :)

    • @Bell4Fun
      @Bell4Fun Před rokem +2

      Yes value of the investment will surely impacted by the inflation
      Secondly just depending on the FD interest to source monthly expenses is not enough you need health insurance as well
      Investment into mutual funds attract taxation in case your income from mutual funds is more than. 1 lakh
      So plan some small business as well

    • @rahulvats95
      @rahulvats95 Před rokem

      last year was tough for inflation. The inflation sweet spot by RBi is 4% with Range 2-6%.
      Anything beyond it causes Rbi to take some action to control it. Three Quarters beyond the range invokes a statutory requirement from Rbi gov including written application. FD gives 6.5-7%, the margin over Inflation would remain 1.5%-2% minimum, and over a year would be less. Beating inflation isn't a big deal using FD. Mutual Funds and rental income(Tier 1,2 cities) are other good options for investment apart from FD if you want to earn more.

    • @rahulvats95
      @rahulvats95 Před rokem

      *I meant More, over an year margin would be more as Inflation won't remain above 6% throughout.
