Dr Mike Is who they modeled smart hulk on from endgame
The resemblance is striking.
😂😂
Can you 9magine smart hulk dropping Dr Mike level off the wall analogies to the avengers?
Fr lmao
Dr. Mike could probably explain the whole time travel thing way better too
Mike had me dying in this video. I love that he is able to deliver high quality information, while still being hilarious.
Honestly starting to wonder if he might be drunk
The part about money at the end, I hope Mike is raking it in now. I subscribed and I recommend his channel to people.
I love his memes
#goldilocks
Agreed 🤣
just another day in Volume City
He is that hero we need, but not the one we deserve
In volume city, what makes someone a criminal?
Doing less than 30 sets
I love the way Dr Mike makes it simple enough for those of us who have been skipping brain day.
😂😂😂😂
Too much volume for my brain I need to deload 😂
Smart important, but muscle importanter
"This is not rocket surgery" I'm using that one lol
These are called malaphors and they're hilarious. My favorite is "we'll burn that bridge when we get to it".

@@johnsteidley6810 oh i thought i've just been saying that as a nihilistic take on the original lmao
Its not rocket appliances...

I’ve been working out for one year. After watching some of your videos, I cut my volume in half. I’ve grown more in the past two months than in the last eight months. Thank you!
This is the most hilarious jacked knowledgeable guy on the internet.
Dr. Mike knows they're doing fckin' great job on RP, so he doesn't even care if he spoke the website address properly - he knows you'll go there for knowledge
RP PR
I love these random ass analogies he brings into each topic. Keeps me on my toes while absorbing all the information love u mike
You never know where the fuck these lectures go in the middle and that's why you're watching every one of them with anticipation.
Powder was such an awesome movie! The scene with the spoons was always one of my favorite.
That feverish rant about goldilocks was fucking hilarious
This is the best straightforward break down of RP’s views on volume that I’ve watched. All the minimalist/anti-volume people that think Mike only pushes volume up, this is the video they need to watch. Good stuff. 👍🏽💪🏽
Mike should write a book on how to come up with the best analogies
Coming up with the best analogies is like carving a block of marble.
Awesome Powder reference, underated movie and a beautiful story. Thank you for all the knowledge you are bestowing on us all.
""That's the ideal Workout BTW"...Love it
This guy is the king of tangent recovery.
"Another hard day in Volume City..."
The qualities of these videos is insane. Awesome work Mike!
Thank you once again for the amazing information.
I have a friend at the gym that over-trains with insane volume every single workout he does... I have been studying and studying and have concluded it is not the way. MIV is real. Mike here explains it perfectly. Can't wait to send this video to him.
Hope he don't read the comments lmao
If he's on PED's he'll have a much higher tolerance for volume. The none natty's at my gym are insane. That includes the fake nattys.
You mean MEV?
@@someoneusa he is hundie percent natty, just dumb
@@daytonasayswhat9333 nope
Love that you explain everything so easily understandable. Thank you so much
WE LOVE MIKE!!!! I love how much he really breaks stuff down 🙏🏼 seriously so thankful for his videos
OMG, is it just me or is Mike getting funnier with each video!
PS, I stopped working out my abs after subscribing to his channel.
he's a genuinely funny guy
Yes this was comedic gold
It’s still good to train your core
Rocket surgery????
Loaded Carrie’s train your core great
I love Dr. Mikes analogies, they're hilarious and explain his points.
This has probably been the most useful video I’ve watched of yours yet. It hit all the key questions I am currently facing. Thank you Dr.Mike.
You give super high quality information in an easily digestible way. You’re absolutely the best at this that I have seen. Appreciate what you do.
This is incredibly informative! I've watched so many videos on this topic and people don't dive in as much as you do and I just end up 0-1% smarter than before. But with your videos, it's a different level! I feel like I'm at uni on a lecture lol. Super quality content and exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you! 👌🙏
This was exactly what I needed right now. Just switched to a new PPL program and it just felt like not enough; now I know what to do. Thanks Dr Mike!
The best freaking Chanel to watch if you are serious about working out... Started my journey around 4-5months ago and recently cause of some issues regarding my training I started doing even more research and stumbled upon RP. I can't even begin to describe how helpful all the information is to me. Long story short I was pretty much overtraining for a long time and saw no or little progress in rep strength and the weight in pretty much everything stayed the same. 4 to 5 months I'm considered a beginner so doing 9 sets of chest 2 times a week to FAILURE was stupid to say the least. I Just want to say a huge thank you to Dr. Mike for making everything related to weight training simple and understandable, with all the BS out the having a lot of people over complicating this, RP is a miracle of a Chanel. Huge thanks Dr. Mike!
Lol "Powder" shout-out
Almost died from too much volume like DR.Mike mensioned :D
I was working intense + never done deload and When i first learned about more frequency is better , i started doing 6 days per week fullbody workouts and burned out after 3 weeks . those were pretty dark days...
Glad i found this channel, taught me a lot. Now im improving with so little volume like 4days per week 15sets per session increasing to 20 with upper lower. Easiest Gaiiiins of my life!
Gotta love Dr. Mike's lectures SOLID lifting advice, powder, wrecking balls, goldi-locks. 👊🏻💪🏻
Dr Mike on point as usual! I love it that you stress that the normative reference is an AVERAGE since there is generally a substantial amount of variation within the human population which is evident when looking at data dispersion in studies on human subjects (I'm heavily generalizing here) there is usually a lot of variation around the mean at both sides for almost every given variable (again generalizing) compared to for example animal studies where genetics and environment are controlled variables.
Listening to Dr Mike talk is my comfort to stress, loneliness, and anxiety.
Powder legit gave me the jumps at loud thunder claps for a hot minute
Loved it. Great content, answered questions I had, and funny AF.
Real talk, great information (more than great even!) and very entertaining to watch! And not but least: easy to understand!
YES! Pure Swoldier GOLD 👊
Informative and entertaining.
Alright, when did I input my credit card information to get access to this
Dude I needed this video. You and your team are awesome.
I did not understand anything about training, nay about life, until the 15:35 Goldielocks analogy. Thank you sir
Great content, and so refreshing that Dr. Mike does not take himself too seriously! Literally lol, as usual. (Prior to this, I participated in an hour long Webinar that left me wanting to watch paint dry instead.)
Thanks mike, i made the biggest improvement ive ever experienced learning from you
Training advice and stand up comedy in one video! Love it
Man your information is golden!!! Hilarious by the way!!! That's how presentation - teaching should be!!! Awesome book by the way!!!
Man I'm never working out to your videos again! Had me laughing with your jokes, almost crushed my foot with the dumbbell. Some of the best content on yt!
Great info! I need to see this three-four times to get all the info. Thanks!
"Powder" , good movie. Your channel rocks too. Would've been awesome to have had your channel around in the 80's
This channel is the the best, Thank you.
Outstanding information! Excellent video. 💪
This would be a great one to re-make / add or whatever. So good and such a perfect topic
The best channel out there. Thank you sir.
This was the best practical/in the weeds Dr. Mike bodybuilding video in a long time; the others were great but this one had the best humor and some great practical algorithmic content.
This video is a real blessing especially for those individuals who are extremely fast twitch. I spent so many years training at minimum my MRV and over my MRV and rarely ever at my MEV or around MAV. I thought I had bad genetics or something but turns out I just need extremely low volume to progress.
What does that have to do with being fast twitch though
@@conradnal8934 Because it's easier to overtrain.
@@conradnal8934ast twitch muscle fibres tend to produce a lot of force output and are more responsive to growth but are sub-optimal for endurance compared to slow twitch, so the best way to train them is less volume and heavy weights generally in 5-10 reps range. Anything more than that you start to incorporate slow twitch fibres which are better for endurance and can handle significantly more volume.
@@adnanroshan2768if you train in any rep range between 5-30 to failure, you are recruiting all of your muscle fibres, literally all of them, both fast and slow.
I've been hecka needing this!
I've found that at the intensity level I work out with the Bro Split (one bodypart per week) is what makes me grow the best. I know it's counterintuitive but for me, that works best.
Same as Dave palumbo advocates
By intensity do you mean your RIR is always low or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
The way of the giant pumpkins.
All of your bodies resources/growth are focused on that one area. A lot more is happenening in your body if its resources are bieng applied everywhere. You are essentially allowing your body to focus.
You are simply wrong
Exactly what I needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure what he said but feel like buying everything in his store.
Bwaaaa well he said he was going hungry and needed money....
basically a stand up comedy but you get real gym knowledge + laughter
Paying double the volume for the same result. "why the f would you do that?". We've got issues Dr. Mike. We need it for our mental health. 😂😂
thank you for these information, your video took me 1 day to study, because i'm not good at english, however, these content and information is easy to understand and close to reality. LOVE from VIETNAM
The metaphors are always appreciated.
The more videos I watch on hypertrophy training the more i realize the men’s physique templates are amazing!
Great Video Mike!
I remember watching that movie when I was a little kid and I’m 28 now, I’ve been wanting to rewatch it!
The burrito comparison made it really clear 👍🏻
I needed this!
Another amazing, informative video. Thank you for the extremely valuable content. P.S. The ending was hilarious.
OMG, great info and got ab workout from laughin' so hard. Keep it up man!
I am a total newbie in the gym but in FB groups about working out I sound like I know what I am talking about because I listen to Dr Mike and Jeff Nippard.
This is truely quality content!!!
Mike, thanks for the great Info 👍
over 2,400 views and no down votes...I don't think I have ever seen this before. Dr. Michael killin it!
Omg I was laughing so hard at the end.
Keep up the great work man.
Rocket Surgery had me spitting my protein shake.
Gotta start licking the floor to get those gains my g
Great content, very easy to listen to.
Greatest outro Mike has ever done
I took your advice on fixing muscle asymmetry in one of your other videos and it worked fast. The key thing I got from the video was to train the other muscle less. I have tried just adding more sets for the other muscle in the past but it didn't work. When I cut back on the volume on the other muscle its like it rewired my mind to muscle connection with that lagging muscle and it grew really fast.
This is very helpful. And I think I’ll remember when I think of: “Yeah Jim, another tough day in volume city.”
Mike, I love you and every piece of content that you put out is pure gold, however, where is the weekly webinar, It's been delayed for 3 days now and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. Somebody send help please
So I'm reading the article on RP and now I have Dr. Mike's voice in my head.
The man so much charisma.
Damn Mike was on a new level of tangential insanity this video. I love it
Yes powder, agree with your description. The deer scene...😮
I haven’t thought about the movie Powder in a long time. Thanks!
Very very good Content for guys who workout, this was awesome VDO 👍
One of the funniest videos yet. Thanks.
Great as usual! When you say at least the muscle should be completely healed, does that necessarily mean soreness is gone? Or is it ok to hit a muscle group that is still mildly sore to palpation and activation?
Thanks!
Great movie !!!!!
just the video I needed at this point in my life
This is E X A C T L Y what I wanted to ask on the next weekly webinar video. How. Do. I. Determine. The. Right. Volume. Haven’t watched the video yet, saving it for my bowl of oats before bed, byeeee see ya later doc
Thank you for this, Dr. Mike. Saw Powder in the theater when I was a teen.
Powder!!! That dug into memories I've forgotten about!
so much gold in this one. Volume cops, Powder reference, pump explosion in the gym, call for money so Dr. Mike can eat.
Oh yah and how to know how much volume you need requiring years of work and refinement. I guess someone might find that useful.
The building analogy had me weak😂
Dude! I loved the movie Powder! What an epic throwback
The gains train for Volume City is leaving the station and Dr. Mike is the conductor. Also a rocket surgeon.
Love the Powder shoutout. Looking forward to more movie references in future videos. Dark City next?
Dark City is the kind of movie that you can tell exactly when the drugs wore off the creative team
11:37 is GOLD. Thanks for the laugh.
