Mozart was Tchaikovsky's favourite composer, he said that Wolfgang lived in his heart! Probably because of it, Tchaikovsky was able to write such masterpieces, a sort of mozartian inspiration!
Sorry. " Nice" doesn't cut it for me. "Superb" does. Thanks to the old man that I heard it at all. The prick. Tchaikovsky, Blondie and ABBA saw me loving great, dramatic sounds.
I was in the old part of Moscow during winter and I put this as I was walking on the snowy streets. What a delight! I could imagine the times of Tolstoy when they had elegant dances
I first heard this as a child while going through my grandmothers albums. As soon as I heard this, it was like a drug. I listened to it over and over until I was told to stop it.
He is an old school master. A rare treat. One of the very best. Knows how to use counterpoint, and knows how to bring it home giving the music the breathing space it needs to work the way it's supposed to.
There are technical brain-synapse reasons why, but who cares. This is exactly what music was meant to do...reach our hearts and move us to tears, or dance, or song. One of the things that make us human.
What you refer to is a psycho-acoustic phenomenon called “frisson”. There are different ways frisson can be triggered, one of the most effective being to complete the incomplete. 4:00 doesn’t really do it for me, though it’s a memorable example of brilliant orchestration. What DOES do it for me is 5:15 , where the sudden sweep and romance of the music sends chills down my spine and brings tears to my eyes. Note that your favorite passage and mine are preceded by a string and woodwind ostinato. In both cases the repetition of the ostinato, the monotony of which is just beginning to get tiresome, is completed by a beautiful passage, related but now harmonically fulfilled. It is masterful.
I love the entire ballet and saw many versions of it with different endings but this waltz is always one of the most beautiful melodies along with the Waltz of Six Brides. I love to look at Sawallisch when he conducts, he has such gentle, kind face.
Tchaikovsky is the greatest of them all because of his astounding versatility. Symphonies, concertos, choral, chamber, opera, stand alone masterworks like Capriccio Italien, one of the first great song writers (None But the Lonely Heart) and, of course, ballet.
I really appreciate the filming/editing of this. It picks up on a lot of the less obvious instruments that Tchaikovsky uses to evoke the atmosphere and feeling of the piece (e.g. the triangle, cymbals or trilling flute) and not just the ones carrying the melody at a given point in the music. I've listened to this piece so many times but I didn't enjoy it any less watching this performance.
I have just discovered the Orchestral delights here. I usually play them on my good stereo. But here you have the pleasure of seeing the instruments While unfortunately. Sacrificing that superior sound however. Lovely!! 10.2020.
The section beginning at 04:47 always makes me want to pick up the flute again!!! Actually, the whole waltz does, but I just absolutely LOVE the counterpoint between the first and second flutes with the violins...
seingatku pernah denger lagu ini di disney fantasia... sampai nyari nyari .... akhirnya ketemu.judulnya swan lake waltz.......aduhai banget lagu klasik ini
This was the song that caused a lot of world peace in the past... Countries hated each other, then they had these big balls where the leaders of countries and their close families were all invited, they'd have some big banquet and then afterwards there'd be music, this was one of the favorites where men would ask women from other countries to dance with them, they twirled around the floor, they'd fall in love, get married, then the two countries would be more at peace... I just made that up by the way, but who knows?
Man, I had a cd of this, the London Symphony orchestra. Not this particular recording. I feel terribly frustrated. When you have heard it done right, there is no comparison. Timing is everything. I understand that recording an orchestra is an issue. I feel like some parts are rushed; there is a wonderful slide between parts. A great conductor understands this. The tempo is fluid.
This song reminds me of how futile everything we do is and how rediciolous we humans can be. Its the kind of song that you put on when everything goes to shit but this play makes it beautiful ❤
If I was there playing this I would be crying, dancing, smiling, shaking, dreaming... I don't know! It's a masterpiece!
One of the most beautiful compositions ever written. Tchaikovsky was a genius.
I agree Alina .
And "Watlz of the flowers"

@Emanuel Ronald Yup, have been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
Beautiful. Wonderful Tchaikovsky.
Beautiful..! I have loved this..all of my life..! I'm 85..!...many years of this absolutely spectacular music..! Just so wonderful..!
I’m a flute player and ppl don’t even understand how proud these players must be of themselves for performing such a beautiful but hard piece
Tchaikovsky is a King of the Classical Music,Period.
Such a shame that people nowadays don’t appreciate the classical arts as they used to...
The more I listen, the more I love this piece. Tchaikovsky can produce so many nice melodies in just one piece, just like Mozart.
Mozart was Tchaikovsky's favourite composer, he said that Wolfgang lived in his heart! Probably because of it, Tchaikovsky was able to write such masterpieces, a sort of mozartian inspiration!
Mozart repeated the simple melody in hundreds of different variations. Tchaikovsky used hundreds of different melodies in one work.
Sorry. " Nice" doesn't cut it for me. "Superb" does. Thanks to the old man that I heard it at all. The prick. Tchaikovsky, Blondie and ABBA saw me loving great, dramatic sounds.
Ha! He would be flattered. Tchaikovsky adored Mozart.
thought my headphones stopped working yo 😭😭
Same! 😂😅
😂😂😂
Don't worry Daphnee I promise if you just wiggle that left hand side headphone wire it will fix itself within a few seconds lol x
mono sound is so annoying
thanks for this info - thought it was my system - been having trouble all day
Tchaikovsky Swan lake waltz in major is my favorite tune for ice skating on Mars indeed!
I was in the old part of Moscow during winter and I put this as I was walking on the snowy streets. What a delight! I could imagine the times of Tolstoy when they had elegant dances
My spirit feels renewed each time I listen to this mastery art work! Waoh. I first listened to this power artistry in 1984!
I first heard this as a child while going through my grandmothers albums. As soon as I heard this, it was like a drug. I listened to it over and over until I was told to stop it.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Glad to see you did not stop completely!
I know the feel sis
One of best versions that i've listened in my life!
I luuuv a conductor who's not afraid to take all the repeats and doesn't make any cuts in the score. Sawallisch gets my vote. Thumbs up!
He is an old school master. A rare treat. One of the very best. Knows how to use counterpoint, and knows how to bring it home giving the music the breathing space it needs to work the way it's supposed to.
i can't help crying, this music reaches my soul.

When the trumpet breaks into the melody at about 400 it breaks my heart.I can't keep back the tears. Sublime beauty, yet I really don't know why.

Greetings from Pakistan beautiful and mesmerizing....
I swear I'm getting chills
The perfection of 1:48 is heartbreaking!! Those 20 measures + repeat signs just kill me a little every time I have to play!!!
Sad to learn of his death!he was a very fine conductor; very serious about his music!
Fantastic! Great vivacity and the right pace!
